For the record:
Amber... Yes, she's beautiful. Can't deny that one, but I say it not just in the aspect of her physical beauty. After driving 8 1/2 hours to meet her, and my nervous energy causing me trip over my incoherent words, which virtually resulted in insulting her and Adam in nearly every way imaginable... such as:
"What's your name?"
"MichelleIdrove81/2hourstomeetyou!"
"Hi, I'm Amber," she says chuckling, "and this is..."
Naturally, I cut her off by rudely interrupting and pretty much scowling with gritted teeth, "I know who he is. He's the guy who killed your character." I'm pretty sure I growled (which is really unlike me).
They both kind of chuckled and she said, "This is Adam."
That's just one of the embarrassing moments of that day, but they were both amazingly tolerant of my babble. Adam took it in stride and I actually went up to him later and apologized. He was really cool about the whole situation. I had a nice conversation with him and an older couple that were with him and Amber. I think the older couple were his parents, but I am not sure. We had a nice conversation about baseball and the Pro Football Hall of Fame because the older man had always wanted to go there and I live about a mile from it.
When I say it was only one of the embarrassing moments of the day, I truly mean that. They probably thought I was crazy when they pulled up and I was chasing geese. Then came the running into them in the cafe where I was not so nice to Adam. Then there was the moment I inadvertently made fun of her choice of outfit (My sister and Amber were wearing pretty much the same outfit, which my sister pointed out since I poked fun of her practically the whole way from Canton, OH to Huntington, NY.). The whole day was a mess and I don't think I have ever been so rude in my life, but both Amber and Adam were amazingly nice.
Truth be told, I couldn't really blame them if they viewed me as being a bit crazy. I mean seriously... I was chasing geese to release nervous energy, but they didn't know that. I ran into them in the cafe because I had zoned in on the beverage counter, but they didn't know that either. I babbled like Willow, which was kind of amusing, but it was because I wasn't expecting to actually talk to them... and when she was signing my dvd and my sister pointed out the boots and Amber's attire, what was I going to do... change my mind and take back all the poking fun of my little sister because they were wearing the same outfit? Nope. Instead I say, "I still don't get why anyone would wear their pants inside of their boots?! It's strange to me, but seriously, do I look like a I read CosmoGirl? In my comfy olive drab cargo pants and a horizontally striped, Autumn colored, turtleneck? For which, I am pretty sure my tone was completely sarcastic.
I've never written a fan letter in my life until then. I actually sent her a letter apologizing for my behavior and explained everything. I even told her that I wasn't anywhere near that nervous when I got to meet Arnold (Help me out here) Schwarzenegger in the 4th grade, and I was bound and determined then, that I was going to grow up and marry that man (This was obviously before I knew he was already married.).
I think they both just like being private people, but you could see he was pretty protective and there was something he did for her that was absolutely adorable, but I won't be sharing that as it was a moment that my friend, my sister, and I agreed was kind of a personal moment between them. We just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Perhaps the wrong place at the wrong time, but none the less, he was very sweet.
Ahh... the things we say when we're dumbfounded...
Amber: "Hi I'm Amber... and this is (referring to Adam Busch)...
Me: "I know who he is... (scowling) He's the guy who killed your character."
Amber stifling a chuckle: "This is Adam."
