Someone made the coffee extra strong the morning. People were remarking how they had to put in extra cream and sugar today just to take the bite out of it.

It's perfect. If I find who did it, I'm going to get down on one knee and kiss their hand.

I also just finished an XL dose of cholesterol: bacon, eggs and a full pan of potatoes fried in bacon greas.

I kinda want to lay down and die right now.

But you would die happy. My mother used to fry bread in bacon grease for breakfast ... oh, that was good. Mrs. Gorn has tried this and admits to liking it, but she has so far refused to make it for me on moral grounds.

No word yet on that shrimp & creamy tomato sauce whatever, but I'll keep you posted.

good lord. i love some fried stuff, but i don't know about that. what do you do with this fried bread? does it have stuff on it? it just tastes like bacon grease? i don't get it.

i was just telling someone about this amazing burger this portland chain has called the wilbur... it's a burger with tillamook cheddar cheese, thick bacon slices, and a fried egg. heaven on a bun.

topic: i am eating a turkey sub and doritos. oh and a diet coke. nothing exciting here. i am enjoying my switch from lettuce to spinach on the sandwich though.

So I just finished a small plate of my new favorite snack:

smoked oysters and fresh cress on crackers. Nummy.

Now I am waiting for a sort of black beans, rice, coconut and arugula dish to be finished. Only the gf subbed quinoa for the rice. We'll see how it turns out, but it smells great.

Think about fresh croutons or grilled cheese. Minus the cheese, but with all the crispy, yummy browness. Frying bread works best with denser breads I think. So homemade breads, sourdoughs, breakfast breads.

I fry this dense, cheesy jalapeno bread in olive oil until it's nicely brown, then toss it with fresh, room temp. tomatoes, basil leaves and balsamic (or I do when tomatoes are in season).

Ooops, sorry. Sort of wrong threadish.

On topic: Coffee and a piece of orgasmically good "Blue Goose Pie", which is a mix of blueberries and gooseberries. Gah. So good. I could use a cigarette.

I had to take the car out to get greased & oiled on my lunchbreak. I thought I'd skip over to the Kentucky Fried Chicken Buffet, get myself greased & oiled at the same time.

I love Kentucky Fried Chicken.

For dinner tonight, I made tilapia with jerk seasoning and then I breaded and fried it in bacon grease and vegetable oil. We also had little roasted potatoes and lima beans.

Yum!

Because of the lack of food in the house atm I have been reduced to making a milkless hot chocolate and mixing it with weird dry healthy cereal. :| this is not my finest moment.

Fuck. Now I have the "Cha-cha-cha CHI-Ah!" Jingle from the Chia pet ads stuck in my head.
