If you and everyone else was cool with it, you could give Rach the last round or two early (all stealthy PM like).

Well, actually technically I leave on the 18th, so I'd have to do the last two nights early. If that's okay with PTS and everyone else? I promise not to cheat. Scouts honour!

I have no problem giving you the questions early, infact, I was going to suggest the very same thing when I saw Jen's post this morning, so if one kitten has no problem with it, I would imagine that no-one else will raise objection.

Rach, I'll PM the questions for Rounds 3, 4, and 5 on Monday when I post Round 2, does that suit you?

If, not, let me know what you need, and for the right amount of dollars we can come to some arrangement ;-)

Woo-hoo!! We is back!!

So here it is KPQ2. As the board went on holiday yesterday I'm gonna leave round one up until 6.30am GMT tomorrow, and will post round two at 11pm GMT tonight just to keep things on schedule.

Same as last time, playing round one enters you in the quiz, and pm the answers to me.

Good luck!!

If you've any remote interest in Frankenstein or illustration, I highly recommend taking a look at Barry Moser's Frankenstein. You can order a cheap copy off Amazon( I did!) and his cuts are just amazing. Apparently he took a skull and wrapped it in sewn dead chicken skin and let it decay and based that as the monster. His website and The Pennyroyal Press is inspiring. And I totally get to take a typography class with him in the fall! *girlsqueak!*

The Kitten Pub Quiz 2 Round Four – Earth Science/Geography

Round Four Finally Finished!!

Answers Round Three

Q1. A. Fluke

Q2. B. Sperm Whale

Q3. D. Riyal

Q4. B. Cell Wall

Q5. D. Persian God of Light

Q6. A. Fauntleroy

Q7. B. Thunder or C lightning

Q8. B. Carbon 14

Q9. C. Cyanide

Q10. B. Silicon carbide

Ok, peeps, Question 7. I’m going to accept B or C as correct. A friend gave me this question and assured me that thunder was the answer. Like the eejit I am, I didn’t check it out until some of you mentioned it in little asides to your answer.

Low and behold, it is the fear of thunder and lightning, not thunder alone, although the literal translation from the Greek is kerauno meaning thunderbolts, and phobia fear.

I’m not Anne Robinson, but sometimes I am the weakest link!!

Aaaaaaargh! I missed round 3! I hang my head in shame.... and the answers look so ... weird.

I avoided the rutabagas, had only a brief run in with the turnips, and skipped gaily over the radishes (is there any other way to skip over radishes?).

But alas, I was waylaid quite thoroughly by several hundred pepper plants, 144 soil samples, and half an hour spent wandering around my field.

I have, however, already sent in my answers for round 4.
So there.

Boschi, next time I'll send you all the rounds in advance. The life of a grower is a busy one, as a gardener I appreciate how lost you can get when among the plants.

What kind of peppers are you growing? Last week I made a yellow pepper soup with watercress and corriander. Mmm, it was really tasty, definately one to make again.

Woahnellie, sorry again for the oversight, Wednesday was a day for mistakes all round.

Thank god it's Thursday!!!

In Q1, you probably noticed the brackets in the surname of the first possible answer, I haven’t gone doolally, it’s just a feature in the board changes the K word to JFK so although it looks a little weird, it was the only way around it.

Also, you may have noticed I haven’t posted the answers to Round Four or your scores, there is a very good reason for this. If you scroll up to Boschi’s post you will see she says that she had sent her answers, but somewhere between her and me the PM went walkies and I didn’t receive it. I think it’s only fair to leave Round Four open until she re-submits her answers due to unforeseen circumstances.

As soon as Round Four is complete I’ll update the scores and post the answers.

Miss Elly hasn't submitted answers for round four as of 11.15pm GMT, but as I'm leaving the roud open for Boschi I'll allow a late submission on this occasion if thats ok with everyone.

Good luck to all of you and thanks for playing along again :party
