OK time for round 3. We've had a few more people join the quiz but I'm going to leave it open a bit longer before posting the answers to any of the rounds.

Here are the scores as they stand at the moment:

masterjendu - 30 (Round1 - 18, Round2 - 12)
Paint the Sky - 26 (Round1 - 10, Round2 - 16)
Foomatic - 12 (Round1 - 12)
hondos - 16 (Round1 - 16)
Knock yourself out - 26 (Round1 - 16, Round2 - 10)
Boschi - 22 (Round1 - 12, Round2 - 10)
jay/wt4evr - 16 (Round1 - 6, Round2 - 10)

Now time for round 3. Luckily for PtS it's about Shakespeare, not about Zulus.
For this round I would like you to name the play that each of these quotes is taken from AND the character who says each line.
1 point is awarded for each play correctly named and 1 point for each character. So even if you don't know one half of an answer you can still get one point for getting the other half right.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Round 3 - Shake those spears!
#1
If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die? And if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?
#2
What's in a name? That which we call a rose,
By any other word would smell as sweet;
#3
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me,
Shall be my brother;
#4
There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
#5
Fair is foul, and foul is fair;
Hover through the fog and filthy air.
#6
Cry Havoc! and let slip the dogs of war.
#7
Unhappy that I am, I cannot heave
My heart into my mouth: I love your majesty
According to my bond; nor more nor less.
#8
We are such stuff
As dreams are made on; and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep.
#9
In nature's infinite book of secrecy
A little I can read.
#10
Lovers and madmen have such seething brains,
Such shaping fantasies, that apprehend
More than cool reason ever comprehends.
The lunatic, the lover, and the poet,
Are of imagination all compact:
One sees more devils than vast hell can hold —
That is the madman;
The lover, all as frantic,
Sees Helen’s beauty in a brow of Egypt.
The poet’s eye, in a fine frenzy rolling,
Doth glance from heaven to earth, from earth to heaven;
And, as imagination bodies forth
The forms of things unknown, the poet’s pen
Turns them to shapes, and gives to airy nothing
A local habitation and a name.
Such tricks hath strong imagination,
That, if it would but apprehend some joy,
It comprehends some bringer of that joy;
Or, in the night, imagining some fear,
How easy is a bush suppos'd a bear.
Good luck to everyone taking part, keep up the good work. :)
Sorry, just a slightly obsessive sidenote: Anastasia was a 20th Century Fox production, not Disney. Although that just speaks volumes on the magnificent job Fox did on treading Disneys turf. Loved that movie as a kid, the songs, the story, magnificent. I was enchanted for weeks. The one thing that I could see through was the animation. Looking closely, there are a lot of flaws in the animation Disney wouldn't have let through.
Only reason I say this is because I remember my mom said the same thing when I was little and I got to correct her. Stayed with me I guess.
Fab flick. Could Hank Azaria be any funnier? Honestly, between this and The Birdcage, I'd pee myself.
Friggin' first round :smash I could kick myself about those fruit flies. Stephen Fry on QI went on and on about them on one show, and I vaguely remember now he said something about them in space.
Three points away from a tiebreaker, and four from a Foovatar. So near and yet so far - story of my life - lol.
Congrats and hurrahs to Jen, and well played to the rest of you. :party :pinky
I've been holding back on those two round's answers since I didn't receive any answers from Foo or hondos for them.
Even though it's too late for them to win I didn't want to post the answers yet in case they still wanted to have a go at them for fun.
Even so everyone's been very patient so what I'll do it post them as a spoiler. If Foo and hondos still want to have a go they can so long as they don't peek!
Hey Kittens, my plan to do a spooky quiz for Halloween week just went a little pear shaped. I'm not really gonna have time to finish putting the quiz together, and even if I did, depending on circumstances, I may not have been able to keep to the posting schedule etc.
Just got some bad news today on the family front and to be honest it's a bit of a headf**k, as you can imagine I'm a bit preoccupied with that.
Hi, guys!
HC and dynigirl, thanks for the kind thoughts - much appreciated.
As for the quiz, a five day version is definately a no-goer, but I was thinking of posting a pic round for you guys to have a little Halloween fun with.
There are stills from 25 horror movies - all you need to do is name the movie, the director and the year of release.
A point for each part giving 3 points per question.
I'll most likely post it on Tuesday 11pm and give you guys until 11pm Thursday GMT to get your answers in, and announce the winner on Halloween Night.
I don't think it will be too taxing - after that last quiz I'll be easy on your grey matter - lol
Okay, is there a spooky photo round 'round? Hmmm.....
Don't confuse me with your reasonableness.
Quiz time, kittens!
You have until 11pm GMT Thursday to submit your answers by PM.
I want the name of the movie, the director and year of release.
Parts one and two may be easy enough, but the year of release could prove the difference between winning and losing.
Here's the link:
Good luck and have fun!!
With the exception of two, just looking at those images made me glad I don't like scary movies. I'll have nightmares for a week, no fun :(
