Yep, I live in Northern Norway and i can quite often see the Northern Lights in the winter. It's very beautiful.

That's amazing. I went to Helsinki/Stockholm a couple of years ago in winter - I was desperate to see them, I told myself that I would see them even if I had to drink a bottle of vodka and hallucinate them - I didn't see them but got a terrible hangover.

I love your part of the world - the contrast in seasons is amazing. Here it's just grey all the time, damp all the time and cold most of the time.

My partner has promised me a trip to Norway to see the Northern Lights when I finish my PhD...I'd better get on with it...

I agree. The nature here is very beautiful and full of variety, so many colors, smells and a HUGE difference in temperature. In the summer it can be incredibly hot and in the winter we almost freeze to death
I am very grateful that I live here and get to experience these things

It's chilly. How cool is that? Clear skies (although it isn't quite light yet), and it will heat up to the 70s later today. But right now, I have a robe and pjs on, as the house is in the 50s.

How much do I wish for a bit of oppresive heat... Rather than the oppresive humidity and wind and brrrr cold. Not cold cold, but under 15°C it is cold for me, especially with so much humidity!
