Hey Kittens! I'm 4 months into the break up of a almost 3 year relationship, and need some uplifting, hopeful stories.

Where did you meed your current girlfriend? How did you meet? Stories/explanations/sentences...anything.

We met here on the board about 4 years ago but she was hard to get let me tell you we would talk most of the time with one word or one sentence messages. The more she would push me away the more I would want to run to her. I love her smart ass wit lol Finally I just was called Friend and that is when she got to know me and poof here we are going on 2 years of marriage I adore her more and more every day don't let anyone tell you there is not happily ever-after we live it.

My girlfriend and I also met here on the board. We started responding to each other's posts here and when we finally decided to talk there was an immediate connection. Looking back I can see that she was flirting from the start, but I was oblivious. Finally we realized (and admitted) we both had feelings for each other, and though it's only been a few months I can safely say neither of us has ever been happier

I met my first girlfriend on a website called Umbagollah and my 2nd on a website called datingandmore.

I met my most significant ex at a gay bar called Pound. I was standing at the bar ordering a drink and she was looking at me in a manner that said 'I'm interested', eventually I went over and said hi.

From that night, we were together for nearly five years. Although we broke up over a year ago now, she's still my best friend and we still live together...although not 'together, together.'

My best friend set me up with my wife. Her (my best friend) was in a choral group with Rachel and they thought we'd hit it off. Anyway, so Ang (said bf) wanted to surprise her gf (Becky) with a party and present for her b-day so we took the present (a nice painting), pizza, and cake to the end of chorus practice a week before her birthday. Ang got busy so I just started chatting up folks while waiting to find out who I was supposed to meet. Hit it off with Rachel just great but didn't know she was "the girl" so I left the conversation with a "nice to talk." Then Ang said, oh, I see you met Rachel on your own. So I went back but it was obvious that Rachel knew nothing about it. Ok, so I liked Rachel but she knew nothing. A week later, Becky all sly-like asked Rachel what type woman she liked and she said I don't know, I guess more femy than not. Becky called me and said, she didn't like you. A few weeks later Ang & Becky had a big party. I was sick but Rachel was there. So she said to Ang, how come you never set me up with anyone? And Ang was like, "what? I tried to set you up with my awesome best friend and you didn't like her!" So Rachel said, huh? Oh what? That was a setup? She was great. Phone call the next day. Day long date soon thereafter and it's been 10.5 years and 2 kids now.

We were introduced, as friends, by the couple that are our best friends. She was over twenty years older than I am, and as far as everyone, including herself, knew, she was straight. So, I squashed down, ignored and otherwise tried to forget my feelings for her for about five years.

Until the aforementioned friends moved sixty miles away, and we wanted to still have our large weekly chosen-family dinners. My car was a hunk o' junk, so we carpooled together to dinner every week at the new home of our friends, for months. And during those long car rides, and the long, intense conversations we had during them, she fell in love with me.

Ten years later, we are still the sappy, devoted, hopelessly romantic couple we were in those first heady days of discovery. Our friends who introduced us stood with us at our non-legal wedding in 2002, and their son was a part of our ceremony as well.

Happy endings really do happen..

I´m a Buffy comunity moderator on Orkut and a well-lnow Amberhollic there, so one day, she send me a scrap asking me about some Amber movies... we exchange msn adress... I rarely saw her online back then and we talked a few times.. then I was really sad one day, thinking about doing something really stupid and she talked me out of it...

she became a really good friend and this friendship evolved in something really nice, but she was 'straight' and much younger than me, so got me scared at first... I thought I was alone and I would be alone for good, cause I´m weird and my self-esteem is really low but... I can´t explain, it felt so good, and perfect and right...

now, I can´t imagine my life without her... We´re going to move in together ^^

Met my wife here on the Kitten about 4 years ago - we lived on opposite sides of the world until just over a year ago,and now she's next to me on the couch. She moved to the miserable cold UK from her lovely warm Australia, so she must love me!

We'll be celebrating a year of civil partnership in March.
