A buddy of mine went to Gallifrey this weekend, where Amber was signing autographs on Sunday. I could not make it, unfortunately. However, Dave was kind enough to have Amber give me the following message:

I was at Gallifrey this weekend and had my photo taken with her. Even when she's all "not happy", like in this photo lamenting that you weren't there with the rest of us, she's still the sexiest woman in any room.

Sadly, that is not Tara. It is, of course, Amber Benson, but as herself, not as the character/ Tara would not have dressed like that.

Actually the photo kinda shows Tara indeed. It's a promotional shoot from Buffy. I think it might be from season five. I'm not sure about that. But it definitely is from Buffy. But I do agree the outfit is kinda unusual for Tara.

It was from a cast promotional shoot. My point being that this was the cast as the cast, not as the characters they play. If they really wanted a photo of Tara, it should have been with her wearing her earth mother clothes (think OMWF, for example): there is a great essay about Tara in "Seven Seasons of Buffy" that discusses how she was clothed throughout the program. She would not have dressed like that photo, even if she approved of the message of Amber's shirt.

Honestly, I have to agree. I think it's the tightness of it; I mean, Tara often showed mid-riff but her clothes were never actually *cut* like that.

And I never thought it out before; thinking back on soem other examples*, I guess cast photos like that aren't done in character.

*specifically remembering shots of the cast of The Mary Tyler Moore Show's first and seventh season casts in the newspaper when it went off. And I gotta be nuts; now I'm envisioning an udpated version with Amber as Mary Richards.

I'm guessing that pic is from Amber's latest film Dust Up. According to IMDB it's currently in post production.

The text at the very bottom of the pic says dustupfilm.com.

And I agree, she look gorgeous in that picture
