Calliope Reaper-Jones book series by Amber Benson

Anything about Willow & Tara, Alyson Hannigan and Amber Benson.

Re: Ambers book 2 topic

Hey there Sorry about the late reply, I'm a newbie still trying to figure my way round the board. As for Amber's Death's Daughter book, I loved it. It's one of the best books I have ever read (and I like to read).I loved the character of Calliope right from the off, I felt like she was a real person and no other fictional character has ever done that yet. My favourite character in the whole book though has to be Kali. For a Hindu goddess of desruction she has an incredibly wicked sense of humor and I hope she is in the other books. If not I'll write to Amber personally to give Kali her own story. I cant wait for the sequel in February then in September her children's book, The New Newbridge Academy comes out. It's cos of Amber that I'm pursuing my own feeble attempts at writing. To me she is just one awesome goddess Just like Alyson, Willow and Tara, Amber rawks bigtime :wtkiss

I'm going to see Amber on Sunday at Gallifrey One in L.A. at the LAX Mariott and shall have her sign a copy of Cat's Claw but like I did with Death's Daughter, I had to buy a copy of Cat's Claw at my local Barnes and Noble.
I may buy a third copy from Prairie Lights if they have it in stock when I come back from Gallifrey just to help pad out sales.

the Under your Spell Challenge!!!

Postby Nue » Mon Mar 01, 2010 7:21 pm

hey guys! Amber wrote this on her blog:

During my mini-Cat's Claw Tour last week many of you asked me if I was going to do another Review Challenge for Cat's Claw. I have been hard put to come up with something that would best the Death's Daughter Macarena Challenge...and I finally think I have come up with a cool idea!

Whenever I twitter that I will be doing a 'signing', I get at least thirty replies from people saying how bummed they were because they'd thought they'd read 'singing'!

So, my new challenge is this:

If I get 200 reviews for Cat's Claw on Amazon (I know, I'm upping the numbers this time) then I will post a video of me spoofing/singing 'Under Your Spell' on Youtube.

And I promise to make it as silly and as fun as possible!

ok, I wanna see her singing again!

I saw Amber three times, three times, three times yesterday at Gallifrey One at the LAX Marriott.
I had her sign my second copy of Cat's Cradle which I bought from her there and thanked her again for being the muse and model for the heroine of my novel.
I had my photo taken with her and she said "Hi Blayne" when I walked in to pose with her.
Waiting in line to have my photo signed by her, I was the fourth person in the line when she saw me and her eyes lit up and she waved at me very warmly.
We chatted for a few minutes about this and that and then she signed my photo the 2010 photo to go with the 2003 and 2006 versions and she took my hand in both of hers and wished me the best of luck with my novel.
The warmth of her smile and her touch are wonderful things.

I live in the southern side of the planet at the moment so I'm thinking ... Can I afford to send you a big tortilla hug when we meet next year? Then you can offer me a book :D And I'll respond with another big tortilla hug. And maybe several more tortilla hugs for each page of the book.

Lots of love Jen. You are an amazing person and I express gratitude on behalf of the Universe for your wonderful generosity.

Blessings in abundance,

i for one enjoyed "deaths daughtr" also am a big listener to audio books so i would like to see how amber handles doing one for those who dont know what they are they are books spoken aloud in a way that it makes it more life like alot even have special effect sounds for parts and the teller is able to change way how he/she reads it according to the character being spoken of

I'll get it as I think it will be interesting to see Amber's take on the dialogue and descriptions.

I also think it is a sign of a novel's success that it is seen as big enough to become an audiobook. Plus, the blind and sight impaired are often denied the chance to enjoy a good book and any and all books that get the audio treatment are worth ackowledging. So its great news all round I say.

I for one can't wait for the audiobook to come out. It'll be a double treat too for not only will we be getting an audio version of one of the greatest books ever written, it's also going to be narrated by the author herself, one of the universes sexiest women ever ;-) . Maybe if they're a success Amber might convince Chris Golden to do the 'Ghosts of Albion',the series they co-created to do the books for Audio as well. Some of those novels are really expensive :wtkiss
