~Part 7~~*~*~*~*~
“The…leaves on the tree?” Willow pointed to the big tree in the park. Her and Hadley were playing a game of ‘I Spy’ and Hadley had chose something green.
“Nope…”
“Grass?”
“Nope…”
“Benches?”
“Guess again.”
“Hmmm…that house?”
“Not even close.” Hadley giggled. This was one of her favourite games to play. And playing with Willow was even better. Willow never gave up, she just kept guessing. “You want a clue?”
“Sure…can I buy a vowel too?” Willow asked as she watched Brady run around, chasing a butterfly.
“What vowel would you like to buy?”
“Um…A.” Willow picked a couple of flowers from the ground. And made a flowered Tierra.
“Sorry no A…that costed you a dollar.” Hadley giggled.
“How about you settle for this beautiful one of a kind Tierra?” Willow grinned as she placed it one top of the blonde locks.
“Deal. Now, the clue is…they’re beautiful.” Hadley smiled and looked up into her victim…the green eyes staring back at her.
“Beautiful huh…can’t be frogs because those things are like…so not beautiful.” Willow scrunched up her nose.
“You don’t like frogs either?” Hadley’s eyes went wide.
“You don’t?”
“No way! They carry warts and stuff.” Hadley giggled.
“So why are we talking about frog warts?” A voice came up behind them.
“Buffy, hey.” Willow looked up and say the slayer standing above them. “We’re just playing I spy…and I’m trying to guess the green.”
“Any clues?” Buffy asked the small child.
“They’re beautiful.” Hadley smirked.
“Oh…I know.” Buffy quickly said.
“You do…how? I’ve been sitting here for ten minutes…guessing.” The red head pouted mockingly.
“I can tell you…and then we can start again.” Hadley smiled sympathetically. Her little heart grew to love and adore Willow. Something inside her told her that she could always be trusted. Normally, Hadley would learn to watch the friends of her mother’s, just to see if they’re ok and nice to be around. But with Willow…it was instant. She knew this woman would love her and protect her family.
“Ok…tell me. Then we can drop Brady off, and go for lunch.” Willow smiled at Hadley.
The little girl crawled closer to Willow, and climbed onto her lap. Her big blue eyes staring into big green ones. “The windows to your soul.” She whispered as if she were trying to keep it a secret.
“Oh…” The biggest smile on Willow’s face appeared. “You’re just one special little girl, you know that Hadley? I wish I had one of you with me everyday.”
“You can…” Hadley smiled, “and you will…always.”
“Why don’t I drop of Brady for you. Dawn is over there and she asked me to bring her, her purse. So I’m heading there anyways. You two go for lunch.” Buffy smiled at her best friend, knowing that whatever happens, the Maclay women will always hold dear to the red heads heart.

At the ‘Sunny Ville’ restaurant, Tara was busy at work all morning, the lunch hour rush was just starting to die down. She loved the pay at this job, it got her places, and the tips were an extra bonus. Her tables were cleaned, and soon the place was pretty much empty. She heard a couple of giggles come from a booth on the other end, and decided to check it out.
“And what, may I ask, is so funny?” She grinned when she noticed who they were.
“Mama…Willow made something for you..” Hadley was in a fit of giggles because she was always excited to be in the company of her mother and Willow.
“Really…and should I be worried?” Tara asked, kneeling down so her chin rested on her arms which rested on the table.
“Nope, none of the worry variety.” Willow said before placing a similar flowered Tierra on top of Tara’s head. “Very beautiful…just like her daughter.”
“Yeah…see mama? She made me one too.” Hadley pointed to hers excitedly. “Except mine is smaller, because you have a bigger head.”
“Gee, thanks Hadley.” Tara smiled at her daughter. She looked around and realized no one was around. “Lisa…I’m taking my break.” She yelled towards the kitchen, then scooted in next to her daughter. “Oh wait…you guys came here for lunch didn’t you…Hadley you want fries and a small milkshake?”
“Yes please!” Hadley nodded her head.
“And I’ll have what she’s having. Need the calories.” Willow softly said.
“Coming right up.” Tara went back to the kitchen, served their milkshakes, and then went back to grab the freshly made fries. “Here we go, one for teeny girl, and the other for tiny woman.”
“Who you calling tiny.” Willow laughed.
Tara grinned as she slid in again next to her daughter and picked some fries off her plate, knowing full well, that Hadley might not even finish the plate. “So what did you ladies do this morning?”
“We woked up and had breakfast, Willow let me eat in the living room so we could watch the early cartoons. Then I helped her clean up a bit, then we took Brady to the park. Now we’re here. Eating lunch, and Willow said this place because she wanted to see you work and watch those full lips of yo…”
“Hadley…how is the milkshake?” Willow quickly jumped in.
“Good…delicious even.” Hadley looked at Willow and frowned with confusion.
“T…that’s good.” Willow smiled at the blonde girl.
“Full lips?” Tara questioned smirking at Willow.
“A…um…uh…hey! How’s about we listen to some music.” Willow placed a quarter in the tiny jubox on the table and allowed an anxious Hadley to pick a song.
“Way to avoid the question Willow.” Tara smiled at the red head.
The three of them talked for a bit, until Tara had to get back to work. She gave her Hadley a squeeze and a kiss and Willow a kiss on the cheek before getting up and leaving. Hadley and Willow finally made their way back to Willow’s.
“Can I play with your dolls?” Hadley asked as they walked into the house. She remembered Willow saying that she had a lot of dolls that were lonely and needed to be played with.
“Sure. I’ll go get them. We can make a house for them in the living room. I have a bedroom set, bathroom, Kitchen, living room…and a lot more.”
“Yeah!” Hadley jumped up and down clapping her tiny hands. “Will you play too?”
“Of course, and make you play with the dolls all by yourself? How fun would that be?” Willow grinned and placed a kiss on Hadley’s forehead before leaving to get all her dolls and accessories.

Tori and Dawn never did much but listen to music and talk about school starting the next day. They sat in Dawn’s room, looking at magazines. It was weird how none of the conversations turned out to be about ‘who’s the cutest guy’, or ‘have you ever had a boyfriend that…’ but mostly about what people, in general, do on dates, and what can be romantic.
“Tori…can I ask you a question?” Dawn looked up from an article she was reading. They were both sprawled out on Dawn’s bed, side by side.
“You can…” Tori was still looking at the fashion in another magazine.
“Remember the other night…when you said you liked me?” Dawn noticed this got Tori’s full attention, and continued. “Well, I like you too.”
Tori felt a little confused, but flattered as well. “Thank you…”
“It’s just, I never got to say it back to you, and I wanted you to know that I like you too.” Dawn sat up and Tori followed her.
“Dawn…I know that. And thank you for liking me. When I’m around you, it’s like I can be…Tori…or Victoria.” She smiled at the mention of her full name.
“I love the name Victoria…how came you don’t?” Dawn asked sweetly.
“Well, my father’s name is Victor for one thing, but my sister and my mom both have names that begin with T…and I didn’t want to be an out cast.”
“But you’re not…” Dawn assured her. “you’re just as beautiful, and I am sure your mom was and still is a very beautiful woman.”
“Can I take you home with me? I could use you when things get a little down.” Tori put her head in Dawn’s lap, smiling weakly. Just like Tara, she missed her mother dearly. It was nice though, to have someone else to talk about it, rather then her sister all the time.
“You’re welcome here anytime Tor.” Dawn replied, playing with the light brunette locks that are splayed in her lap. “What was your mother’s name?”
“Theresa.” Tori relaxed as she felt her hair being stroked softly.
“See…beautiful, just like Tara, Tori and Victoria, and Hadley…all beautiful.” Dawn’s heart ached when she realized she couldn’t really relate to the fact that Tori’s mom was gone, because her mom is still alive and healthy. But she also envied Tori because of the sister she has, the sister that raised her in her teenage years. It’s not that she didn’t like the way Buffy and her got along, it just seems like Tara and Tori get along way better, and were tighter.
“So, tomorrow, will you sit with me at lunch?” Tori asked out of nowhere, her fears, now falling on the first day of school in a new town, and a new state.
“Of course!” Dawn happily said. “If you don’t mind hanging out with a sophomore.”
“And who else would I hang around? Pathetic seniors who believe they own the school and can boss people around? Please…I stick to my own kind.” Tori laughed turning so that she was on her stomach, her eyes holding the blues one in front of her.
“And what exactly is your kind?” Dawn asked curiously.
“Um…you.” Tori laughed again as Dawn threw a small teddy bear her way.

“So, what do you want for your birthday?” Willow asked a yawning Hadley.
Hadley was out on the porch swing, cuddled in a blanket with Willow. They were waiting for Tara to get out of her first night class. “From you…nothing.” Hadley simply said, her head in the crook of Willow’s neck.
“Well, I very well can’t go to a five year olds birthday party, and bring no presents.” Willow was shocked. She remember when she was five, her grandmother came with nothing, just hoping that love would be enough, but little Willow didn’t really like that idea, she wanted presents.
“Just you coming is big enough for me. Plus…you’re making mama really happy. And when mama is happy, I am happy.” Hadley quietly said, her little body shifted so she was closer the red head, and held her tight. “You can make mama happy right?” Hadley pleaded.
“I can try baby girl.” Willow said smiling.
“Oh, cozy, can I join?” Tara said walking up to the two curled up figures.
“Sure can.” Willow lifted the blanket so that Tara can have some too. “Hadley just, and I mean, just fell asleep.”
“Three nights in a row. I should leave her here more often.” Tara joked as she leaned over to place a kiss on her daughter’s temple. “Star gazing again?”
“Yeah…clear night…it’s so beautiful.”
“Among other things.” Tara smiled warmly at the sight of her daughter resting comfortably in Willow’s gentle embrace. She hated to leave, but it was late, and all three women have to be up early. “I should go though, tomorrow school begins for the lovely ladies. Plus Tori is at home waiting to yell at me because I won’t let her take the car.”
“Sister’s huh.” Willow exchanged the warm smile. “I could offer you another offer.”
“It doesn’t involve another night here…” Tara mentally slapped herself. < Not that I don’t want to, because oh Goddess I want too. >
“No, just that I have to go meet Xander early anyways, he is planning on asking Anya to marry him, and he needs my advice. So, if you let Tori take the car, I can drop you off at work, and Hadley off at school, and then Tori can pick Hadley up after.”
“You are amazing!” Tara giggled. “You just saved me from having a big confrontation with Tori tonight.”
“Glad I could help.” Willow stood up and handed Hadley to her mother. “Keep the blanket. I have three more just like it.”
“Thanks Will.” Tara leaned over and again, it was a brief kiss, but it expressed everything. Tara was truly in love with Willow.
