~Part 10~~*~*~*~*~*~*~
It was Saturday afternoon, and the sun was surprisingly warm for that time of year. Mother Nature gave Willow a good day to do her yard work. That morning was the best morning ever. She woke up in the arms of a beautiful blonde. They stayed in bad for an hour or so, just talking about everything…that is until Hadley came bursting through the door and started jumping on the bed. Willow smiled to herself remembering what happened just a few hours ago.
** Flashback“Hadley! No jumping on the bed.” Tara softly scolded. “Remember what happened to the monkey’s?”
“The all fell down and broke their heads.” Hadley sang as she continued to jump.
“Right, and that might happen to a certain little monkey who’s jumping on one right now.” Tara raised an eyebrow at her daughter.
“But mama, Willow’s not jumping.” The small child giggled and finally did one last jump and landed in her mother’s lap.
“Uff!” Tara flinched at the small pain that shot through her legs, but quickly recovered. “So…are you done jumping on the bed now?”
“Yes ma’am.” Hadley snuggled closer to her mother and looked at Willow. “How was your sleep?”
“It was the best Hadley, thank you.” Willow smiled and sat up, joining Tara against the headboard. “How was yours? Anymore banana’s and monkey’s?”
“Nope, but I Brady was in my dream. She was trying to eat Cinderella’s glass slipper.” Hadley quietly giggled.
“What will that puppy be up to next?” Willow played along. “When I first got her, she tore my whole hotel room apart in New York. I was out doing some promotional thing, and when I came back…everything from my coat, shoes, to the table cloth and bed sheet’s was chewed and destroyed.”
Hadley and her mother both started to laugh. Tara could just picture the look on the red head’s face when she walked into the hotel room and found her puppy not so innocent. “I’m afraid to ask what the damage fee was.”
“So was I.” Willow laughed as well.
“Brady’s not like that no more…right?” Hadley asked a bit sadly now.
“No baby girl, Brady is well trained.” Willow assured her. “Oh hey, I have some yard work to do later, why don’t you and your mom come over, and maybe her can take for a walk?”
“Can we mama? Please?” Hadley bounced in her mother’s lap, her big blue eyes pleading with her mother’s.
“Yes, as long as you help me clean up your room. You have dolls everywhere.” Tara smiled, resting her chin Hadley’s head, while her gaze focused on Willow.
“I will mama…see, look at me go!” Hadley practically flew off her mother’s lap, onto the floor, and out the door.
“I think you’re in trouble.” Tara eyed up Willow mischievously.
“Me? What did I do?” Willow questioned confusedly.
“Hadley is in love with Brady…now she’s going to beg for a puppy, and I can’t afford that.” Tara said softly.
“I know Tara, that’s why she’s welcomed over to my house anytime to play and walk Hadley. Not by herself of course, but you know. And I’ve been meaning to ask you…if and when I head back to L.A., do you think she could dog sit for me?”
“You she’ll love that…and of course she can. Just means I get to follow to.” Tara kissed Willow softly.
“So, you’ll come over?”
“Yeah, but I’ll let you work, while I take Hadley to the park with Brady.” Tara spoke in a whisper. She heard a small grumble noise and looked down at Willow’s stomach. “Hungry?”
“Just a little.” Willow sheepishly said. “But I could always wait…” Willow pulled Tara back down and kissed her softly.
And wait they did. It wasn’t until they heard giggles coming from Tori’s room, realizing it was Hadley who caused the giggle fest by jumping on Tori’s bed singing ‘Get up Get up!’ that they got up and went downstairs to make breakfast.
**End FlashbackWillow smiled as she pulled out a couple of dead weeds. Tara and Hadley had come by, and were now at the park with Brady. Humming to herself, she never heard footsteps behind her.
“Willow.”
The red head jumped back and looked at the two Summer sisters. “Merciful Zeus! Don’t sneak up on people like that.” Willow frowned. She stood up, wiping off her soiled hands on her old pair of jeans. “What brings you two here?”
“Well…I kinda wanted to get an update on how things between you and Tara were going.” Buffy smiled sitting on the picnic table, and tapped her fingers on her lap.
“Great actually.” Willow grinned. “Buffy…she’s just so…amazing. Amazingly hot, gorgeous, kind, beautiful, sexy…and an amazing kisser.” Willow babbled as if she were talking to herself in a dreamy state.
“That good huh?” Buffy smirked. “I’m happy for you Will…it’s great to see you this happy. I’ve never seen you this happy.”
“I know, and I want to keep it that way.” Willow was beaming, every time she thought about the blonde, which was always, her heart pace would pick up speed, and it was as if she glowed.
“Yeah, I’ve seen those two together…it’s so great to see that kind of love.” Dawn admired the connection they shared. She felt a similar connection with Tori, and she needed to talk to someone about it. Not just anyone, but someone who knows what she is going through. “Um Will…can I talk to you?”
“Uh, yeah sure.” Willow looked at Buffy.
“Ok…it must be some guy thing Dawn’s to embarrassed to tell me about…” Buffy took the hint and smiled at her sister, “I’m just gonna go inside, and maybe…I don’t know, make lunch?”
“You don’t have to Buff, I promised Hadley I’d order pizza when her and Tara come back.” Willow smiled her thanks anyways.
“Ok…then I’m gonna go and watch T.V.” The slayer took of inside the house, leaving Willow and Dawn alone.
“What is it?” Willow asked a little concerned.
“It’s Tori.” Dawn said sitting down.
“I thought you liked her?” Willow furrowed her brow in confusion.
“I do Will…a lot.” Dawn looked into green eyes. “That’s the thing, I’m sixteen, and I’ve fallen for a girl.”
“I was your age too when I fell for a girl.” Willow tried to comfort her. “It was five years ago, and I was sitting alone in the library, reading. I heard a voice that caught my attention; it was pretty, and smooth. I turned around and there she was. In her short black skirt, and white blouse, knee length boots. I couldn’t tear my eyes away. I thought she had the greatest smile, and laugh. She was talking with the librarian, and then turned around and caught my eye. So she walked over and introduced herself, I thought I was going to die. I knew from then on that women were the most beings on this earth.”
“Where is she now?” Dawn asked, wanting to know whatever happened to Willow’s first female crush.
“Watching T.V.” Willow smiled her head nodding towards the house.
Dawn frowned a bit, and then caught on, her eyes grew wide. “You had a crush on my sister?”
“Yes, I did. Though, it never lasted, as soon as we became best friends, I didn’t have those feeling anymore.” Willow explained. “So, you fell for Tori…how does she feel about you?” The red head knew the answer.
“The same as I do.” Dawn grinned. “We have our second, well first official, date tonight.”
“Really? Where you going?” Willow asked interested.
“Not sure, probably a movie or something.” Dawn shrugged her shoulders. “I kissed her last night.” She whispered.
“You what now?” Willow thought she heard correctly.
“I kissed her last night, outside her house. It was my first kiss…and it was wonderful.” The smile that appeared on Dawn’s face could’ve lit up a whole room.
“I take it she liked.” Willow teased. “What can I do for you?” She asked serious again.
“Tell me everything’s going to be ok? She thinks that Sunnydale is a safe place to live, and that she isn’t going anywhere.” Dawn pleaded.
“Tara thinks the same.” Willow confessed. “Those Maclay women I tell you. In the bases of comfort.”
“I don’t know about you Willow, but I’m going to tell Tori about this town. I have too, if something happens, she needs to know the truth, not just some freaking lie that everyone else believes.” Dawn took after Willow’s ‘resolve’ face.
“And I Tara. Hadley, she deserves a great life, none with monsters, demons, and vampires attacking her family.” Willow said sadly. “The only thing that scares me when I do tell her the truth, and tell her that a slayer does exist, she’ll move away.”
“She won’t Willow…she loves you, and Hadley will put up a fight if she ever decides to move.” Dawn put her arm around her friends shoulder.
“So will Tori.” Willow smirked. “So, you’re going to tell her?”
“Yeah, I have to.” Dawn sadly smiled. “If anything happens to her, I’ll never forgive myself.”
“I know what you mean.” Willow leaned against Dawn. “So I guess that’s it then.”
“Yeah.”
~*~*~*~*~*~
6:32pmTori groaned when she noticed time the clock read on her dresser. “Ugh!” She threw though pair of jeans that were in her hands, back into her drawer. “Hadley!”
The small girl came bouncing into her room a couple of seconds later. She looked as if she were about to get into trouble. “Yes?”
“Don’t look at me like that, you’re not in trouble.” Tori’s mood softened. “I just need your help.”
“For what?” An excitedly Hadley asked, her eyes shimmering like crystals.
“I have a date in like…thirty minutes.” Tori sat down on her bed. Hadley climbed up beside her, and placed a small hand on her knee. “With Dawn.”
“Oh Dawn?” Hadley giggled. “Wow…you must be freaked.”
“I am not freaked…hey why would I be freaked?” She looked at her niece.
“Don’t ask me. I’m just a kid.” Hadley smiled warmly. “You like Dawn…and you want to look…pretty right?”
“Yeah, somewhat to what you said.” Tori got off her bed and scrambled through her clothes again. “I have nothing nice to wear.”
Hadley frowned in thought, looking at the clothes for the first time. “How about something…like…” She hoped off the bed, and grabbed the dark denim jeans that Tori just threw a couple of minutes ago. “This, and this,” The small body bent down, and picked up a sleeveless white turtleneck. “Then how about…” Hadley scratched her head in thought, “Oh…this…” She ran over to the bedroom door, and picked out a long denim coat that hung just below the knees.
Tara watched her daughter and sister quietly from the hallway, she managed to move before Hadley spied her running towards the door for the denim coat. She smiled and shook her head slightly, and returned down to the living room. < Who’d ever think, my sister of all people, would get fashion help from Hadley…but my sweet little girl does have great taste in fashion. >
“Wow kiddo, great job.” Tori smiled at Hadley, “I don’t see why I couldn’t have picked that out myself.”
“Love clouds the mind.” Hadley mumbled as she dug through Tori’s belts.
“Love what…Had…”
“Here, I nice brown suede belt with fringes, and your big hoop earrings. But leave your hair down, it looks so beautiful down.” Hadley cut off her Aunt. “And Auntie Tori?” Hadley was making her way out of her room leaving Tori to get reading for her date.
“What is it sweetheart?” Tori smiled kneeling in front of the small blonde.
“Don’t wear to much make-up, you hide your beauty when you put too much on.” Hadley placed her tiny hands on Tori’s cheeks, letting her tiny thumbs run across full lips. “And wear lip gloss, it will define your lips.” Hadley was thanked by a smother of kisses coming from her Auntie. “Auntie…save those for Dawn.” Hadley giggled as she escaped Tori’s embrace.
“What flavour of lip gloss?” Tori yelled at the running child.
“Strawberry.” Hadley yelled back, running downstairs to join her mama on the couch.
The lighter brunette took her time getting ready.
6:55pm“Five minutes left, ok…breathe.” Tori walked anxiously towards the window. “Why didn’t I pick her up, I have my license, and Tara’s car.”
DING DONGTara got up, and answered the door. “Dawn…wow, you look pretty.”
“Really?” Dawn stood there wearing, a long black skirt, with a dark red sweater, and a leather coat. She held something behind her back. “It is ok that I take Tori out right? I mean I know I should’ve asked…”
Tara held up her hand to silence Dawn. “It’s fine.” She smiled warmly. “Just make sure she doesn’t get you into trouble.” The blonde laughed. “But really Dawn, I’m glad it’s you who’s taking out my baby sister. You’re bright, beautiful, kind, and full of love. I couldn’t ask for more for her.”
Dawn felt her cheeks burn, as she hung her head low blushing. “Thanks Tara…coming from you that means a lot.”
Tara just smiled and invited Dawn inside. “Hadley, sweetie, will you go tell Auntie Tori, that Dawn’s here.”
“Sure mama…you looked beautiful Dawn.” Hadley stopped to check out Dawn’s outfit before climbing the stairs. She knocked on the bedroom door softly. “Auntie? Dawn is here.”
Tori turned around to face her little niece. “Thanks. I’ll be down in a minute.”
“What’s wrong? I thought you liked her?” Hadley asked concerned.
“You sweetheart, I do. A lot. It’s just…how am I going to tell her about our family? I mean, with the witch craft, and all that.”
“Just bring it up casly…”
“You mean casually?”
Hadley nodded her head, her curls bouncing. “Yes. She’ll understand, and if she doesn’t…is she worth it?”
“And when did you get to be so darn smart?” Tori picked up her niece smiling.
“Mama and you…I learned from you.” Hadley giggled. “Now come on…you’re beautiful date is waiting.”
“How does she look…oh, Goddess, how do I look?” Panic kicked in.
“You look very lovable sexiness!” Hadley said honestly.
“Lovable sexiness huh…where’d you hear that one?” Tori smirked.
“Willow said it to mama.” Hadley grinned, she always felt giddy mentioning Willow and mama in the same sentence.
“That would do it.” Tori put down her niece and let herself be lead down to the living room.
Dawn looked up and saw Tori with the most amazing smile on her face. “You look beautiful…and se…” Dawn blushed noticing Tara standing right there.
“Sexy?” Tori smirked. “So do you.”
“So, um…these are for you.” Dawn pulled out a couple of lilac flowers and held them in front of her. “I remember you telling me they were one of your mother’s favourites and that you missed the smell.”
“Oh Dawn…” Tori almost broke down into tears. “You’re so sweet.”
“So I thought maybe we’d catch a movie, and then head over to the Espresso Pump.” Dawn asked a bit hesitantly.
“That sounds wonderful.” Tori smiled.
“Kiss her.” Hadley whispered between her mother’s legs.
“Hadley!” Tori looked at her, then gave a wink. “Maybe later…”
Hadley giggled putting her hands over her mouth. “Mama…Tori’s gonna kiss Dawn. You looooove her, you want to kiiiiisssss her, you want to maaarrry…” Hadley’s mouth was covered by her mother’s own hand.
“Sorry, we’re just about to watch Miss Congeniality.” Tara apologized to the teenagers. “Here, give me the flowers so I can out them in water, and I’ll give you my car keys…drive safe, and be back around eleven.”
“Thanks…love you.” Tori kissed Tara on the cheek, “And you young lady…I’ll get you back for this.” She looked at Hadley who was still fighting her giggles.
Dawn laughed and held Tori’s hand. “Don’t be too hard on her…I know you want too.” She whispered in Tori’s ear. She managed to give it a quick bite before heading outside. Tori gulped, and shivered.
“And NO steaming up my windows!” Tara yelled out the door.
“YEAH!” Hadley yelled as well.
“Get in there you.” Tara swatted Hadley away playfully, getting out a small squeal of delight from her daughter.
She chased her daughter around the house, laughing and playing before curling up on the couch to watch the movie.
~*~*~*~*~*~
“We need to.” Willow said with anxiousness traced in her voice.
“Wills, how do we know that we can trust them?” Xander asked.
They all sat in Willow’s house, having a good old get together. They haven’t all spent time together, since the fist night she arrived back home. And even then, she was to wrapped up in a blonde…literally, on the front porch. Now, Willow had wanted to bring up the big discussion about telling The Maclays the truth about Sunnydale…so, she did.
“Xander, how the hell can you say that?” Willow shot back. “You know we can trust Tara and her family.”
“That’s not what I meant.” Xander replied.
“Then what did you mean?” Willow eyed him up evilly.
“It’s not Tara…”
“Who do you think we can’t trust…Hadley? Right, she gonna be running around late at night, peeking through helpless people’s windows and turn into some evil Chucky doll…with a rabbit as a side kick…because we all know little innocent five year old girls and bunnies are evil.”
“HEY!” Anya yelled in panic. “I’ll have you know that Bunnies are just as evil like…horses!” Anya stuck out her tongue at the red head, and curled into Xander’s side. “Stupid witch.” She muttered.
“No name calling.” Buffy interfered. “And Will, about your theory on the evil five year old…thanks, now I have the wiggins.”
“For crying out loud, Hadley isn’t evil, she’s as sweet as apple pie with a lot and a lot of extra sugar. And Tara’s not evil, because if she were evil, I’d know…when I kiss her, it’s nothing but pure heaven, and we all know evil can’t go to heaven.” She glared at Anya and smirked.
“Xander! Do something, she’s ogling over me…I don’t swing that way Willow…I don’t care if you’re famous and ri…” Anya stopped mid flow, and stared back at the red head with a beaming style. “Wait…I know, you haven’t gotten laid in a while right? Of course not, anyways, how about you and I…you know, and then you can pay me with lots of money.”
“Ew! Anya gross! What the hell are you thinking?” Willow looked disgusted, but then she fell into a fit of laughter. “Anya…thank you for the…um, kind offer, but I’ve already got someone in my life, who pleases me just fine.”
“Well what about Tori?” Xander tried to ignore the image of his two favourite girls together by changing the subject.
“No, The Maclays are not evil. None of them. And do you really think Buffy would let her kid sister hang out with Tori, if she suspected any evilness?” Willow raised an eyebrow.
“Willow is right…but Will…telling Tara is huge. What if it scares her? If I were a single mother, I’d want to leave knowing that this place is dangerous.” Buffy looked at her best friend with a weak smile.
“I know…it’s just, if I want to build this relationship with Tara, I’m going to have to tell her. Whether you like it or not.” Willow said sincerely, and returned the smile. “If anything happens Buff…I’d never be able to forgive myself.” She repeated the some words Dawn had used earlier that afternoon. < Oh Goddess, Dawn is going to tell Tori tonight…most likely. I have to go and tell Tara first, before she hears it from her sister. > “Guys, I gotta go. I’ll be…back…bye.” With that, the red head grabbed her coat, and headed over to the blondes.
