Handle with Care, by Jodi Picoult. I love her books!

P.S. Those who enjoy her books, or any who are looking for a book about being gay in today's society and the struggles they have when trying to have family should watch for her next book, Sing You Home.

The Girl who Played with Fire.
"Supposedly the summer is "over." The people that say that are either children or work in the education field. We are neither of those things. The summer is over when it stops being 300 degrees outside. Which won't be until December. That said, we will continue to have summer fun!"

I just finished reading Room. It was... bracing. I don't know. Beautiful and tender and sort of horrific at the same time. I think most of the horror is what happens in your mind when you're not reading it or at least it was for me. It's the first book I can remember since the last two HPs that made me stay up late to read it and want to stay home from work.

Spoiler alert:
The book is narrated by a 5 year old boy named Jack who lives, with his mother in the garden shed where she has been locked since she was kidnapped 7 years earlier.
