Title - An Everyday Life
Author name – beautiful_love a.k.a. Jessica
Rating – PG-13
Disclaimer - I don't own these characters.
Feedback- absolutely
Summary- Totally AU - Tara meets Willow - the happy bumblings of falling in love - I'm not too good at this summary thing.
Notes: Still kind of short but an update none the less. My references to eighties nostalgia are really coming through lately. Sorry about that to anyone who has no idea what I'm talking about but you have to love the eighties in all its delicious badness. Everyone enjoy your upcoming week.

Chapter Twenty Four

It was just before seven AM Friday morning when Willow walked into her office, a large Styrofoam cup in one hand, her laptop case slung over her shoulder. She set everything down on her desk and quickly unpacked, making sure everything was organized and in place before she sat down. It was going to be a long day but she wanted to get as much done as possible so she’d have the weekend free. She’d been thinking about it a lot and though she still had some reservations, she was actually starting to get excited about the surprise party that was coming up that weekend. Sure, it was bound to be awkward when Anya made some obscene comment to either her or Buffy, or worse yet, to both of them. But at least she’d get to spend time with Tara. And a good old fashioned night of fun was definitely in order.

She quickly logged onto her desktop while her laptop booted up and scanned through her unread emails, noticing two were from her boss about projects being led by other members of her team that were falling behind.

“So much for getting my work done today,” she grumbled as she attempted to pull up the overdue programs in question.

She worked diligently over the next few hours, only taking the occasional thirty second break to stretch out her aching fingers, in a race to get as much done as possible. It wasn’t until a quiet knock sounded on her office door at quarter to one that she even looked up from her computer screen.

“Come in,” she called, unsurprised to see Henry, the mailroom’s elderly clerk enter behind his steel cart, piled neatly with manila envelopes and little cardboard boxes. “Hi Henry. Bringing me good news?” she joked as he fully came into her office.

“Don’t I always,” he teased with a kind smile. It was the kind of smile she imagined her father might have given her in another life as she walked up his front porch for an afternoon visit. “But today, I have more than just good news. I come bearing gifts,” he said, breaking her out of her reverie as he bent over to pick up something off the lower shelf of his cart. She watched as he stood up, holding a vase full of gerbera daisies, in pinks, yellows, oranges.

“They’re beautiful,” Willow gushed as he stepped forward to set them on her desk.

“They were dropped off about twenty minutes ago at the security desk for you,” he said as he took a step back to admire them.

“Who are they from?” Willow asked, still awestruck in her seat. No one had ever sent her flowers before.

“Read the card,” Henry said with a chuckle as he turned and wheeled his cart out of her office. Noticing for the first time that there was a card stuck to the case, she quickly reached for it and tore it open.

‘Will,

I just wanted to properly congratulate you on your promotion. That and thank you for the past few weeks. They’ve been amazing and I hope this is only the beginning for us.

Tara’

Willow couldn’t have stopped the smile that spread across her face as she read the note, her heart thumping just a little faster in her chest.

Tara.

Of course the blonde had made the incredibly thoughtful gesture. Willow reached up and fingered the petals on the closest flower, wondering when the blonde had made the arrangement. Still smiling she reached for her cell phone to call the other girl. The phone was on its fourth ring when she heard Tara answer.

“Will?”

“Yeah, it’s me,” the redhead answered, her smile growing even bigger. She’d never really cared about how anyone else said it but she loved hearing her name come from the blonde’s lips. “You have a minute?”

“Absolutely. What’s up?”

“I just wanted to call and thank you for the flowers. They’re beautiful.”

“Oh. You’re w-welcome. I’m glad you got them.”

“I did. And I love them. It was so sweet of you Tare.”

“I just wanted to do something. You know.” Willow could tell the blonde was blushing on the other side just from her tone.

“Yeah, well what are your plans for tonight?”

“I’m working until like seven. And then I’m free.”

“Want to come over and watch some movies or something?”

“Sure. Want me to bring anything?”

“Just you,” Willow said, instantly excited at the thought of spending the evening with the other girl. “I’ll take care of everything else.”

“Ok. I’ll s-see you at like seven-thirty.”

“Ok. Bye Tare.” She hung up and took one last look at the vase of flowers before turning back to her computer, now more determined than ever to finish her work on time.

*****

Tara flipped her visor down and gave herself the once over in the mirror there before climbing out of the car and making her way up the walkway to the front porch. Around her the other inhabitants of Revello Drive were arriving at their own homes, parents being greeted by children with hugs and squeals of delight. As she stepped onto the front porch the door was thrown open before she even had a chance to knock by a smiling redhead on the other side.

“Hi!”

“Hey,” Tara said with a giggle, highly amused by the redhead’s obvious excitement.

“Come in,” Willow said, reaching for the blonde and pulling her inside and into her arms. “Thank you again for the flowers,” she said as she felt Tara’s arms slip around her.

“Will, it really w-was no big deal,” Tara said, running her fingers along the slender girl’s shoulders.

“I loved them,” Willow said, keeping her gaze on the blue eyes in front of her. Tara just smiled and leaned forward, gently kissing the redhead.

“I missed you,” she said pulling away. “I-I mean, I know we just s-saw each other last night. And I probably shouldn’t be saying stuff like that. You know, wh-when we haven’t been dating that long. I’m sorry. It j-just came out. I don’t normally say stuff without thinking about it first b-but I just-” Willow stopped her with another kiss, letting her lips move against the blonde’s for a moment longer.

“You’re starting to sound like me,” she teased with a smile. “And I missed you too.” She placed one last peck on the blonde’s lips before pulling her further into the house and closing the front door. “Are you hungry?”

“Starving,” Tara answered, still keeping one of the redhead’s hands in her grasp.

“Come on. Let’s see what we can find to eat,” she said as she pulled Tara to the kitchen.

*****

“So I may have a fondness for eighties music. But your movie collection is an homage to the ‘brat pack,’” Tara teased as Willow removed The Breakfast Club from the dvd player and inserted Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

“Well when we were little, we used to either hang out at Buffy’s house because her mom was so nice and would always make us cookies and stuff and help with homework and school projects. Or we went to Cordelia’s house. Her parents weren’t around too much. I mean they were more ‘present’ than mine but we pretty much had free range of the house. She had a cool older sister, Claudia, and she always had the newest music and magazines and stuff. And she had all these eighties movies in her collection. We’d spend the weekends raiding Claudia’s room, reading issues of YM and Seventeen and watching these movies. Even though it was the early nineties, we all loved them,” Willow finished as she sat back down, her left thigh brushing against the blondes. “I asked if you wanted to watch something else and you said no.”

“No, this is fine,” Tara said, reaching for Willow’s hand and entwining their fingers in her lap. “Matthew Broderick is adorable in this.”

“That’s what Cordelia always said and Buffy and I agreed with her while we were watching it, but we both were actually secretly crushing on Sloane when we were twelve,” Willow said. Tara just giggled and laid her head on the slender redhead’s shoulder as the movie started, snuggling in further when she felt Willow’s lips gently brush against the top of her head.

*****

“Look, it's real nice that you hope my brother is feeling better, but I'm in danger, okay? I am very cute, very alone and very protective of my body. I don't want it violated or killed, all right? I need help! Speak any English? DICKHEAD!”

The movie played on as the porch lights all around the Summers’ residence began to turn on. Doors were being locked for the night and families were tucking themselves in for Friday night TV and board games. Inside things were definitely not winding down though.

“Wow, so apparently a flashback to the movies is like a flashback in life,” Tara breathed as Willow’s lips finally detached from hers and moved down her neck. “We really are just like a couple of teenagers.”

“Trust me, it’s not the movies making me behave like a horny sixteen year old,” Willow said as her lips met Tara’s pulse point. The blonde giggled and tugged the other girl back up to her lips and tugging at the hem of her shirt. “You’ve got some busy hands there Ms. Maclay.”

“Sorry. Just can’t seem to control them when you’re around.”

“I never said it was a problem,” Willow said, pulling away with a smirk, reaching for the blonde’s shirt as well, deftly pulling the buttons there through their holes. As she reached the final hole, Tara took advantage of her position and pulled Willow’s t-shirt over her head.

“Much better,” Tara said as she pulled the redhead back to her, relishing the feeling of their torsos touching.

They continued kissing, completely oblivious to anything and everything around them, hands roaming, lips crashing together. They were so unaware of their surroundings that they didn’t hear the door unlock and swing open.

“Hello? Buffy? Willow? Anyone ho- Oh my God!” Dawn entered the living room, took one look at the couch where the two girls were rolling around and jumped back out to the foyer.

“Dawn! What are you doing home?” Willow cried as she quickly climbed off Tara and scrambled for her discarded shirt on the floor. Tara quickly got up as well, facing the wall as she attempted to button up her own shirt with shaky fingers. “I thought you were going out with your friend tonight.”

“Yeah, she called and cancelled so I came home. I thought you and Buffy might be here. I didn’t know you were… busy,” Dawn said, still hidden in the foyer.

Willow pulled her shirt over her head and turned to see Tara had managed to get all but one button in place. Catching the blonde’s eye, she mouthed ‘sorry’ and turned back in the direction of the front door.

“It’s ok Dawnie. You can come in now.” The younger girl entered cautiously, an apologetic smile on her face as she met Willow’s embarrassed gaze.

“Really, I’m so sorry. I didn’t… I mean…”

“No, really, it’s ok,” Willow said again, risking a quick glance of Tara and seeing the blonde was beet red, staring at the floor, her fingers wringing the bottom of her shirt. “Um, Tara this is Dawn, Buffy’s sister. Dawn, this is Tara… my girlfriend.” Willow saw a small smile twist at the blonde’s lips and she breathed a sigh of relief.

“Wait a minute! You’re the girl from the coffee shop,” Dawn said. Tara looked up finally, confusion written all over her face and Willow’s eyes went wide as she remembered that it was Dawn with her the first time she saw Tara.

“Um, the c-coffee shop?”

“Yeah! You’re the one Will was cruising a few weeks ago,” Dawn said, excited at having remembered the event. Tara couldn’t stop the smirk that overtook her face as she turned to see a very embarrassed Willow, eyes wide, mouth open, staring at Dawn. “She was like drooling in her mocha watching you.”

“Dawn!” Willow finally snapped out of her stupor, her hand forming into fists at her sides like a petulant child. Tara honestly thought she might start stomping her feet at any minute and couldn’t contain the laugh that had bubbled up in her chest.

“What? You were,” Dawn said.

“But… But I mean… You can’t just…” Willow continued to sputter, unable to actually put her irritation into words.

“It’s nice to m-meet you,” Tara said, saving her from saying anything else.

“You too,” Dawn said, smiling back at the blonde. “So… how long have you guys been dating?”

“J-Just a few weeks,” Tara answered.

“Cool, very cool,” Dawn said with a smile, looking back and forth between the two girls. “So how did you guys-”

“Hello? Anyone home?”

Willow rolled her eyes and threw her hands in the air as Buffy opened the front door and walked in.

“Oh wow. The gangs all here,” she said as she stepped into the living room. “What’s going on? What are you all up to?”

“Nothing much,” Dawn said with a smirk.

“Yeah, I w-was just leaving,” Tara said, pointing at the door.

“Oh well that’s too bad,” Buffy said with a small pout. “If I’d known you were here I would’ve called and invited Faith over too. We could’ve all done a game night or something.”

“Yeah,” Willow agreed, not waiting to turn her alone time with Tara into a group get-together but not wanting the blonde to leave either. “Are you sure you have to leave?” Tara smiled at her and just nodded.

“Well we’ll see you tomorrow right? At the party?” Buffy asked. “Faith said to meet at like nine.” Again Tara just nodded and moved towards the door.

“Wait I’ll walk you out,” Willow said, following the blonde out the door. She caught up with her on the porch and grabbed her hand as they walked down the walkway to Tara’s car. “Sorry about Dawn and everything. Can you tell they’re totally sisters by their ‘worst timing ever’ gene?”

“No it’s ok,” Tara said. “Probably better it was Dawn and not Buffy. Five minutes later when I would’ve had your pants off too.”

“Oh promises promises,” Willow said, smiling at the blonde. “So I’ll see you tomorrow?”

“Definitely. You’re still ok with c-coming right?”

“Actually I’m kind of looking forward to it. Get a little fun out of Buffy and Anya meeting, you know, officially.” Tara laughed and pulled the redhead to her, wrapping her arms around her. “So we’re meeting you at nine?”

“I’ll double check with Faith and call you tomorrow.”

“Ok. Night Tare,” she said, placing one last kiss on the blonde’s lips. She watched as the blonde got into the car and drove down the street. When the taillights disappeared around the corner she finally turned and made her way back into the house, closing and locking the door behind her.

“So why was Tara in such a rush to leave?” Buffy asked from her chair in the living room.

“I caught them making out on the couch,” Dawn called from kitchen.

“Oh wow really?” Buffy asked. Willow just nodded. “That sucks. I swear that kid has the worst timing,” Buffy said as she turned back towards the TV.

“Must run in the family,” Willow mumbled as she trudged up the stairs.
Anya: I don't like the sound of this. They don't sound very ex-demon compatible.
Tara: Are you sure they're English? I thought English people were, um, gentler than uh... normal people.

Hey, Jessica!

I love the BAD TIMING comment and from BUFFY!!! Unbelievable! :lmao :laugh :grin :lmao

You nail their dialogue and I appreciate how you took them to a deeper place, being there for Faith. And Willow's excitement at seeing Tara and Tara's 'amusement' when Tara is just as excited to see Willow - funny!

Take care - thanks for the update!

Those damn Summers girls!!!! Buffy has alot of nerve commenting on Dawn's bad timing. Tara is such a sweetie for sending Willow flowers. It's such a small thing, yet it totally made the sun shine bright on Willow's day. Can't wait till the party... I can't even imagine what Anya is gonna say when she meets Buffy! I hope her whip purchase is a topic of discussion... great update.

YAY Update!!!!

I love the fact Tara sent Willow flowers, so damn sweet! They connect in so many different ways, it really is adorable. The date was of course going extremely well, till' Dawn walks in.

I would have loved to see her face as she jumped back in the foyer after seeing Willow shirtless and Tara almost shirtless. Too bad they didn't get further. The Summer's girls definitely have the same genes, wow the timing!

Can't wait for the party! Great Job!

Great Update. I love that Tara sent Willow flowers and it totally changed her mindset about her day, funny how a kind gesture from a loved one can do that. Also, I love how Dawn totally calls Willow out for the coffee shop 'stalking' and her reaction to it. Hilarious. I liked the subtle hints that Willow was giving Tara about her not so great home life when talking about the eighties movies, testing the waters a little deeper, that's good.

BOO for the early end to their date. I wouldn't think a little thing like 'typical' Summers bad timing would send Tara home early though. Couldn't they have just retired up to Willow's room or something for some privacy?

Can't wait till your next update.

They are so damn cute together and you do such a great job of conveying their mutual attraction. Then there's Dawn...ok, when you live with other people and you tell them you're not coming home...DON'T COME HOME! lol Then with the cruising comment...she really never does get any less annoying.

I loved Buffy making the comment about timing...boy is she ever clueless! Should be fun when she meets Anya at the party!! Can't wait!

Summary- Totally AU - Tara meets Willow - the happy bumblings of falling in love - I'm not too good at this summary thing.
Notes: Thanks to Ariel for beta-ing this for me. I tried to get the party in but that would’ve made this chapter super long so instead I decided to leave it on a bit of a cliffhanger. But the party will be next. Hope you all enjoy it.

Chapter Twenty Five

She trembled when she felt the body above her lean its full weight onto her slender frame, a curtain of silky blonde hair rake over her face as a soft pair of lips roamed down her neck, nipping at her collarbone. She wove her fingers into the blonde tresses in front of her and held on as the kisses continued. She couldn’t remember it ever feeling this good with anyone else. No one else could even compare.

“Tara,” she whimpered as she felt the girl above her slide her leg between her thighs.

“Yes love?” came the sultry whisper in her ear.

“I… I want… I want-” she was cut off as the blonde’s lips connected with hers, a slight moan escaping her mouth as she felt Tara slip completely between her legs..

“What do you want Willow?” the blonde asked as she pulled back a little, a teasing smile lingering on her lips.

“You. I… I just want you. Now. Please,” the red head begged, another whimper escaping her as the blonde rocked between her thighs.

“Can you be more specific?” Tara teased, leaning down to nibble on Willow’s bottom lip. Willow just groaned, frustrated that the blonde was actually going to make her say it. Tara just giggled at the redhead’s torture and kissed her soundly once more. Willow looked up, her eyes heavy lidded, knowing at this point she’d do whatever the blonde wanted her to do to end the torture. But confusion took over her features as she took in the fact that Tara’s mouth was moving but instead of hearing her melodic voice she heard a faint buzzing sound that was becoming increasingly louder with every word the blonde spoke.

“Tara? What? What are you saying?” The buzzing had slightly distracted her mission but she was still very aware of the fact that the gorgeous blonde was lying naked on top of her. Tara sat up further and began to back away from her, all the while the buzzing still getting louder and louder. “Tara? Wait, where are you going?” Tara, now standing at the foot of her bed, finally looked away, towards Willow’s nightstand. Willow turned to see what the blonde was looking at and turned back just in time to see the blonde vanish.

The ringing got even louder as Willow slowly opened her eyes to see her room flooded in light, her phone blaring on her nightstand and her bed empty.

“Damn it,” she grumbled as she reached for her phone to stop the incessant ringing of the alarm she’d forgot to shut off. “I don’t even have to be up yet!”

She flopped back on the bed and closed her eyes again, wishing she could fall back into her dream world but she knew that wasn’t going to happen. Even if she managed to fall back asleep, she’d most likely dream of frogs or something disgusting and she much preferred the memory of Tara’s soft lips against hers. She opened her eyes again and threw the covers off, slowly climbing out of bed. She made her way to her bedroom door and slowly opened it, listening for a moment to see if anyone else was up. She knew it was too early for Dawn but Buffy mostly likely had gotten up and gone for her morning jog an hour ago. She kept promising the blonde that she’d start running with her but after six months, Willow had yet to get up and follow through.

She quietly padded down the stairs, intending to grab a quick cup of coffee before she started her day and honestly hadn’t heard anything out of the usual when the sight in the kitchen of her best friend clad in a pair of running shorts and a sports bra, pinned up against the counter by a similarly dressed brunette, giving, what appeared to be, a very pleasurable hickey. Willow immediately woke up and quickly and quietly backed out of said kitchen unnoticed. As quietly as she could she made her way back up the stairs and into her bedroom. With the door closed securely behind her she finally let out the breath she didn’t realize she’d been holding and giggled.

God, this house is like a minefield of naughty make-out sessions just begging to be broken up, she thought.

Still giggling she gathered up a few things and made her way to the bathroom, hoping a shower would have the same effect as her morning coffee. Twenty minutes later she emerged from the bathroom, clean and minty but not much more awake than she’d been when she entered.

Way to go Rosenberg. You’ve become an addict.

She quickly dressed in a pair of old faded jeans and a green tank top before grabbing her wallet and phone and quickly made her way to the door, slowly opening it and peeking her head out, listening for anything out of the ordinary before she barged in on any other extracurricular activities. It didn’t take long for her to hear an unmistakable moan come from behind Buffy’s now closed bedroom door.

“Ew!” she whispered, making a break for the staircase flying down them and out of the house, grabbing her keys from the hook by the door on her way out. She quickly climbed into her car and made her way down Revello Drive.

We need to develop a system or something. Like a sock on the door or a hanger. But what if there’s no door. Like the other night with Tara in the living room. I should’ve posted a note on the front door. But then what if for some reason Dawn would’ve come in the backdoor instead? That would’ve given me at least another minute and it could’ve ended a lot worse, like no pants either. God Tara would’ve been completely and utterly mortified. That wouldn’t have been good. I mean a pantsless Tara would’ve been good but not with others around.

She’d reached the Espresso Pump by then and parked her car in the first available space. There were only a few cars along the street there and she figured she’d be able to enjoy a nice quiet cup of coffee on her own. That was until she saw the profile of a gorgeous blonde seated on the far side of the café, the morning sun streaming through the open columns of the café, illuminating her in the most beautiful way. Willow smiled at the sight, watching as Tara tipped her head back, her eyes closed, relishing in the feeling of the sun caressing her face. With her hair pulled back in a ponytail, Willow was able to take in all of the blonde’s stunning features and she couldn’t keep the smile off her lips.

“Ah hmm.” Willow turned to see the barista at the counter staring at her expectantly and she realized she’d been standing motionless, ogling Tara for a few minutes. She turned back to the blonde and was met by a crooked half smile and sparkling blue eyes.

Busted.

She smiled back and quickly made her way to the counter to place her order with the obviously irritated barista. While her mocha was being made she turned back to the blonde, taking in the back of her girl.

I really should take up running, she thought as she took in the blonde’s short jogging shorts and tank top. A light sheen of sweat clung to her shoulder blades and Willow could see the hint of muscle in the blondes sculpted arms and legs.

“Ah hmm. Excuse me?” Willow meekly turned back to the counter and grabbed her coffee without even looking at the barista, making her way quickly over to the unoccupied seat at Tara’s table.

“Hi,” she said as she slid into the chair.

“Hey. What are you doing here?”

“Oh, you know. Wherever there’s coffee, there I’ll be,” Willow joked. Tara just smiled back at her. “What about you? It’s pretty early.”

“Yeah well I couldn’t sleep. So I went for a run and then decided to stop by here for a green tea before heading home,” she explained.

“How come you don’t run with Faith?”

“Um, well, I m-mean we do run together sometimes.” The question seemed to throw the blonde. “Why?”

“Oh, sorry. I’m just thinking out loud. Faith was at my house this morning. It looked like her and Buffy had just gotten back from running.”

“Looked like?”

“Well neither of them appeared to be in the mood for chatting,” Willow said, hoping she wouldn’t have to elaborate. Tara just smiled.

“Well did you at least get back at her for all of her bad timing?” Tara teased.

“No,” Willow said with a laugh. “I was actually a good friend and backed out quietly before they saw me.”

“You are a good friend,” Tara agreed, reaching over the table to take Willow’s hands in hers. “I might not have been so generous.”

Willow smiled back at the blonde, the tip of her tongue peeking out between her teeth, both at the blonde’s response and the feel of her thumb running along the back of her hand.

“So what are you going to do until they’re… um… finished?”

“Well I hadn’t thought out that far,” she answered. “I just had an incredible urge for caffeine and now that I’ve satisfied that craving, I’m out of things to do. I am open to suggestions though.”

“Well…” Tara trailed off, looking out the window, appearing to be deep in thought. Willow knew better though when she felt Tara’s tennis shoe clad foot slide up her jean clan calf, her fingers teasing along the inside of Willow’s wrist. “Since Faith’s at your house keeping Buffy occupied, you could always come over to my place.”

“Oh?” Willow asked, deciding to play along. “And what would we do? Knit? Play Gin? Bake cookies?”

“If that’s what you really want to do, sure. Though I don’t know how to knit or play Gin.”

“Well we can do something else,” the redhead said with a sly grin as she stood up and pulled the blonde with her out of the coffee shop.

***

“Will, it’s kind of… hard to get… the door open... when I can’t unlock it,” Tara breathed, her body pinned against said door by the ravenous redhead in front of her.

“Guess I’ll just have to take you right here in the hall against the door then,” Willow growled, her mouth on Tara’s neck, her hands sliding up the blonde’s torso beneath her tank top.

“Will… please? I’m fine with you taking me against the door,” Tara sighed. “I just would prefer that my creepy neighbor across the way not see it.”

“Creepy neighbor?” Willow immediately pulled back, concern etched in her eyes.

“Yeah. He’s always watching me and Faith. He’s really stalker-y. And I would just prefer he didn’t look out his peephole and catch us with your hand down by shorts.”

“Ok, yeah, let’s get inside,” the redhead said, snatching the key out of Tara’s hand and making quick work of the deadbolt and ushering the blonde inside. She was semi-surprised when Tara fell back against the door and pulled her back against her, their lips crashing together once again.

“So… I believe you were… saying something about… taking me against the door,” Tara said in between kisses. Willow just smiled into the kiss and trailed her lips down the blonde’s neck, pulling at the drawstring in Tara’s shorts.

“That was easy,” she sighed when the knot came loose. She moved her lips back up to Tara’s and found the blonde waiting for her as she pushed her shorts to the floor. She decided not to waste any more time and trailed her hand up the blonde’s thigh, finding she was already more than ready.

“Will,” the blonde sighed as she felt the redhead enter her slowly, rocking back and forth against the door.

“I’ve been thinking about this since you left my bed last Monday morning,” Willow said, still moving her fingers in and out of the blonde, slowly increasing the pace as Tara’s moans got louder.

“See, this is… what I had in mind for last night,” Tara said, clinging to Willow’s shoulders so hard she was sure it would leave a mark.

“Well there shouldn’t be any interruptions this morning,” Willow said as she reached her thumb out to brush against the blonde’s clit, feeling Tara’s nails bite even harder into her shoulders as she did.

“Oh fuck, Will! That feels amazing,” Tara groaned, throwing her head back against the door, trying to balance her focus between the amazing feeling of her impending orgasm and keeping her feet planted below her. She opened her eyes for the briefest of moments and saw the intense green of Willow’s eyes staring back at her, unbridled with desire. That was all it took for her to fall off the edge of the cliff as her orgasm overtook her and she shuddered in the redhead’s arms. “Holy shit Will!” She leaned forward against the redhead, letting her weight be completely held by the slender girl.

“You ok?” Willow asked, breathless herself as she wrapped her arms around the blonde, leaving small kisses on her temple.

“Yeah,” Tara said with a small giggle. “I’m great.” Willow just smiled, a little proud of her accomplishment and held the blonde tighter to her for a long moment, letting the silence envelope them. “I think it’s your turn now,” Tara whispered a moment later.

“Bedroom?” Willow suggested.

“Let’s go,” the blonde answered as she finally stood up, pushed off the door and grabbed the redhead by her belt loops, pulling her further into the apartment.

***

Tara awoke two hours later in her bed to the beeping of her phone indicating she had a text. She looked over to see the redhead still fast asleep behind her, an arm still wrapped protectively around Tara’s waist and smiled. Turning back she grabbed the phone and looked at who the message was from. Faith.

Hey, call me when you get this please.

That’s weird. Why wouldn’t she just call me? Tara thought as she went to dial the brunette.

“Hey, you texted me?” Tara asked when Faith answered.

“Yeah, I didn’t want to just barge into your room or interrupt anything,” the brunette said. “Can you come out to the living room for a second though if you’re not too busy?”

“You’re here?”

“Yeah.”

“Ok… I’ll be right out,” Tara said as she hung up the phone and threw on a pair of shorts and a discarded t-shirt. She looked over to see the redhead still asleep and smiled as she quietly left the room. “Hey, what are you doing?” Tara asked, seeing Faith seated on the couch, tying her shoes.

“Hey, totally feel free to say no to this but Ahn called and she’s freaking out about this whole party thing. She needs help. And I told her we’d be there over an hour ago,” Faith explained.

“Ok, yeah I can help. What, just with setting up and stuff?”

“Yeah. Look I committed you before I knew you were… busy. So I can totally go alone but I have to get going,” Faith said.

“Wait, busy? What are you talking-”

“The trail of clothes leading from the front door to your bedroom,” Faith answered with a smirk.

“Oh, right,” Tara said, surveying the damage. “Sorry about that.”

“Totally no worries Tare,” Faith said, still smiling and turning towards the door.

“No, wait! If she’s having that big of a fit, maybe I should come with. Can you just give me like five minutes?”

“Yeah, totally.” Tara quickly grabbed the trail of clothes and made her way back to her bedroom where Tara saw Willow was sitting up in bed, the sheet clinging to her. “Hey,” she said with smile, leaning down to kiss the redhead.

“Did I hear Faith out there?”

“Yeah. Apparently Anya has some sort of decorating emergency for Xander’s party tonight,” Tara explained.

“Oh, ok. Well just give me two seconds and I’ll get out of your hair,” Willow said as she pushed the blankets back and reached for her clothes.

“I don’t suppose you’d consider coming with us,” Tara asked, looking hopeful. Willow just smiled back as she pulled on her jeans and reached for the blonde.

“As much as I’d love to spend more time with you, I’m pretty sure I’ll reach my Anya quota tonight,” she answered as pulled the blonde in and kissed her once.

“I totally understand,” Tara said, running her fingers down the redhead’s smooth back.

“So I’m going to head home,” Willow said, pulling away and pulling the rest of her clothes on. “I’ll see you tonight? Around nine?”

“I can’t wait,” Tara said, kissing her once more. Willow smiled and left the room, closing the door behind her so Tara could get changed. She quickly pulled on some clean clothes and threw her hair back up in a messy ponytail before running to bathroom to wash up quickly.

“Ok, I’m ready,” she said, emerging a moment later to see Faith waiting near the door, looking a little on the disheveled side herself. The brunette motioned for Tara to exit the apartment first and locked the door behind her. “So why are we an hour late?” she asked as they made their way down the hall to the stairwell. Faith just smiled and stared down at the carpet.

“I got busy… over at Buffy’s.” Tara just laughed and took the first step down the staircase.

***

“That banner needs to be higher. People are going to tear it down if you hang it that low,” Anya directed as she climbed the stairs to the balcony where Faith and Tara each stood on a ladder, a large ‘Happy Birthday Xander’ poster hanging between them.

“Ahn, it’s seven feet in the air. What kind of hooligans did you invite that are going to tear down a sign at a thirtieth birthday party?” Faith asked as she turned awkwardly on the ladder to look at the blonde.

“The kind that tear down signs. Now just hang the damn thing higher!” she said as she stomped back down the stairs.

“What the hell’s up with her?” Faith asked as she turned back to Tara. “I mean yes, we’re a little late but no one else is here to help her.” Tara just shrugged and stepped up another rung of the ladder to hang her side higher.

“Do you think this is high enough?” she asked once her side reached around eight feet.

“For Xander’s gargantuan, rowdy friends? Sure, why not?” Faith grumbled as she lifted her end of the banner to the same height.

“Faith,” the blonde warned. “You’re the one her offered us up to help her today. So let’s just help and then get out of here before someone loses a limb or something.”

“Yeah, well I’m about to offer to shove this banner up her ass if she doesn’t chill out,” the brunette said as she climbed down her ladder.

“It’s crooked!” Anya called from the lower level of the bar. “Faith! Faith! Your side’s lower than Tara’s! It needs to be even!”

Tara saw Faith’s fists clench at her sides as her skin flushed and decided to step in before they had to make an emergency trip to the hospital where the doctors would be sure to find Anya’s precious banner in a not so precious place.

“Ok Anya! We got it,” she called with a calming smile before turning back to the work at hand.

“Tara, I’m going to kill her.”

“No, it’s fine. I’ll fix it. Why don’t you go sit down and blow up balloons?” Tara suggested as she motioned towards the many tables, containing all of the decorations Anya had brought with her. Faith let out a deep sigh and then unclenched her fists as she made her way to one of the available stools near the helium tank Anya had brought for the balloons.

“You know, if it wasn’t for you, she and I probably would have killed each other by now,” Faith said after a few minutes of silence.

“I know,” Tara said from her spot on Faith’s ladder. “I aim to keep the peace.”

Tara climbed down and started gathering a few of the inflated balloons at Faith’s feet, tying them together with some blue ribbon Anya had brought. They continued this routine in silence until the upper balcony of the bar was completely decorated, balloons hovering between streamers, tables covered with confetti.

“Looks pretty decent,” Faith said as she stepped back to admire their handiwork.

“Yep. So how about we get out of here before she finds something else for us to do,” Tara said as she turned and made her way down the stairs to the main floor of the bar where Anya was busy giving instructions to one of the bartenders about what liquor she had requested for the evening’s festivities.

“Hey Ahn, we’re all done upstairs,” Faith said. “So we’re going to cut out.”

“You’re leaving? But there’s still so much to do!” Anya said, her face panic stricken, her voice an octave higher than normal.

“Well upstairs is completely decorated and ready for partying. We have to go though. It’s after six,” Faith said. Tara had to suppress a giggle as Anya’s eyes went wide and her mouth dropped open.

“Ahn, it’s fine. Everything looks great upstairs. And I’m sure all he cares about is that you’ll be here,” Tara said.

“Besides, we really need to go home and… shower and stuff,” Faith said, smirking at Tara.

“Oh whatever. So sickening, you two in the throes of new love's passion. Not able to keep your hands to yourself. Go on, get out of here and go get ready for your dates. Even though you spent all morning fucking their brains out anyway. Who care about little ol’ me and all I have to do tonight,” Anya said as she walked away from them.

“See you later Ahn,” they said in unison with a laugh. The blonde just turned around and waved with a small smile and then kept walking.

***

“Hey Will, what do you think of this?” Buffy asked as she stepped into the bathroom, dressed in a short skirt and a V-neck sweater.

“You look great,” Willow said, as she finished applying her lip gloss. “We should really get going though. We’re going to be late. It’s almost nine.”

Buffy just nodded and turned to head down the stairs, Willow hot on her heels.

“Should I drive or do you want to?” she asked.

“Did you get your tire fixed yet?” Willow asked.

“Not exactly.”

“I’ll drive then,” Willow said with a smile as they stepped onto the porch and she locked the door behind them.

“So tonight should be fun right?” Buffy said as they climbed into Willow’s red Corolla and backed down the driveway.

“Yeah. I think so,” Willow said, unable to suppress the little smirk that came to her face.

“Besides, we haven’t gone out in a while right? We should do this more often.”

“Well we used to go out together to meet girls,” Willow said.

“Oh come on! We tried that like twice and both times were a huge failure,” Buffy said, remembering their sophomore year of college when they’d both screwed up the courage to go to the only gay bar they could sneak into and left alone, drunk, leaning on each other as they made their way back to their dorm.

“Well at least you had the courage to talk to someone. Even though she turned out to be the only straight girl in the bar,” Willow said with a laugh.

“Oh my God, that was so embarrassing,” Buffy said, laughing along with the redhead. “I was so afraid to talk to any girls after that for like a year.”

“But look at you now,” Willow said. “You’ve got an amazing girlfriend, who I might add, is quite the little hottie.”

“Well you’re not doing too bad yourself,” Buffy added. “Tara is pretty fantastic. And I wouldn’t throw her out of my bed.”

“Unless Faith got there first right?”

“Of course,” Buffy said, the two of them giggling.

They arrived at the bar twenty minutes later than they were supposed to and quickly made their way inside after finding a parking space near the back of the lot. After making their way to the entrance and pushing past the crowd that was already forming there, they went inside and looked around for any familiar face they could find.

“Over there,” Willow said, catching sight of Tara, her eyes wide at the vision of her beautiful girl, dressed in a worn denim skirt and a pale yellow button down shirt, the redhead had to restrain herself from walking over and ripping her clothes off right there in the middle of the bar.

Almost like she knew she was being watched, Tara looked up and caught the redhead’s eye, a smile immediately lighting up her face. She waved and motioned for the two to come over to where a small group was huddled near the stairs to the upper balcony.

“Come on,” Willow said, grabbing Buffy by the elbow and attempting to pull her along.

“Wait! Wait a minute! What the hell is she doing here?” Buffy said, frozen in place.

“Who?”

“That girl from the sex toy store! She’s standing there with Faith and Tara talking to them! What the hell is going on? How does she know Faith!”

Anya: I don't like the sound of this. They don't sound very ex-demon compatible.
Tara: Are you sure they're English? I thought English people were, um, gentler than uh... normal people.

DIBS! :whip

yay for update!!!! :eatme :banana :eatme :banana

“Damn it,” she grumbled as she reached for her phone to stop the incessant ringing of the alarm she’d forgot to shut off. “I don’t even have to be up yet!”

Poor Willow, being so close even in a dream and the damn alarm goes off early! I hate when that happens.

“Ew!” she whispered, making a break for the staircase flying down them and out of the house, grabbing her keys from the hook by the door on her way out. She quickly climbed into her car and made her way down Revello Drive.

Hehe yeah I wouldn't want to walk in on Faith and Buffy either, though would have been nice revenge.

Willow smiled at the sight, watching as Tara tipped her head back, her eyes closed, relishing in the feeling of the sun caressing her face. With her hair pulled back in a ponytail, Willow was able to take in all of the blonde’s stunning features and she couldn’t keep the smile off her lips.

getting caught or not, seeing Tara like that is HOT!

“Well we can do something else,” the redhead said with a sly grin as she stood up and pulled the blonde with her out of the coffee shop.

Gotta love the undertone, these two have been trying and waiting!

“So… I believe you were… saying something about… taking me against the door,” Tara said in between kisses. Willow just smiled into the kiss and trailed her lips down the blonde’s neck, pulling at the drawstring in Tara’s shorts.

Taking agianst the door (I am drooling a bit) Always hot to see Willow take charge, and ooo wee let the hottness ensue!!

“Yeah, I didn’t want to just barge into your room or interrupt anything,” the brunette said. “Can you come out to the living room for a second though if you’re not too busy?”

now Faith decides not to interrupt lol A tleast she let Tara know she was home hehehe

“As much as I’d love to spend more time with you, I’m pretty sure I’ll reach by Anya quota tonight,” she answered as pulled the blonde in and kissed her once.

“I totally understand,” Tara said, running her fingers down the redhead’s smooth back.

Lol I know how Willow feels, you can only take so much Anya.

“The kind that tear down signs. Now just hang the damn thing higher!” she said as she stomped back down the stairs.

Perfectly Anya!! Oh so funny, poor faith they just don't get along that well. At least Tara is there to keep Faith from killing her.

Jess,

What can I say?

This is SEXY hot! :love

Full of their tenderness and humor and sweetness together PLUS the potential of a Faith/Anya free-for-all (I can only fantasize!)

You make these characters true to their roots but completely your own, GREAT work and you never fail to deliver the goods.

DYING FOR THE PARTY, maybe they'll have a few drinks and see => :pinky :party :pinky

Thank you! :flower

I thought I was gonna have to call you a big ole dirty tease! I wanted to yell 'Sonofabitch' after reading that little dream sequence at the beginning of the chapter. Alas, you mended your evil ways and gave me the :wtkiss and gay love that I am entitled to as a faithful reader!

Great update! I love all the passion our girls feel for each other. It was so cute how Willow realized that no other has ever made her feel the way that Tara does (even if it was during a dream you big meanie). I hope they don't have to worry about the perv-y neighbor in the future.

Buffy and Anya in the same place at the same time.....let the games begin :whip !

Hey Jess,

GREAT update. I'm glad that Willow and Tara finally got the privacy they deserved even if it was only for a little while. While I normally love Anya's craziness, I'm with Faith on the party decorations. I would be ready to strangle her myself after that.

I can't wait to see what happens with Buffy and Anya. I know there is going to be some initial freaking out followed by some awkard conversation. Oooo, will Faith overhear any of it and find out what Buffy has been shopping for? It's going to be so freaking awesome. I can't wait.
Tara: " I got so lost."
Willow: "I found you. I will always find you."

Yay for great update-y goodness... I'm glad that Willow & Tara had a chance to have some alone naked time... Big yay for Tara being there to keep the peace between Faith & Anya... Can't wait for Buffy meeting Anya officially... I guess Tara's peacemaker abilities are needed during the party between Anya & Faith and Buffy...

Awwww...what a lovely update!

Poor Willow, the dreaded alarm clock in the middle of a sexy dream...the worst. Then she runs into Faith and Buffy doing what she wishes she was doing with Tara. Double whammy!

God, this house is like a minefield of naughty make-out sessions just begging to be broken up, she thought.
:rofl The house of debauchery!

Loved that she ran into Tara at the coffee shop and that Tara was apparently also having naughty thoughts. :fallen You do a very good of conveying the mutual want through their dialog. That is sometimes hard to do without coming right out and just saying it. Now, however, I'm concerned about the "creepy neighbor". Hopefully this guy is not really dangerous.

Great job with the :wtkiss Just somewhat of a bummer that Tara had to leave to go help Anya. Hmmm, let me think about this...naked in bed with Willow or getting yelled at by Anya? Tough, tough decisions, lol.

Anyway, loved Buffy's reaction at the end and looking forward to the party!

Feedback:

Astron Soul – You are like dibs master. It’s insane. Lol. I bow to you.

Poor Willow, being so close even in a dream and the damn alarm goes off early! I hate when that happens.

I know. But hopefully I made up for it later on in the update. And yes, interrupting Faith and Buffy would’ve been the perfect revenge. But Willow wasn’t born with the sexus-interuptus gene like the Summers girls so I left it at that.

getting caught or not, seeing Tara like that is HOT!

Tara = eternally hot. At least in my opinion. I think I’m in good company there on this board.

Perfectly Anya!! Oh so funny, poor faith they just don't get along that well. At least Tara is there to keep Faith from killing her.

I love writing Anya. She’s my favorite character on the show after Willow and Tara and I try to squeeze her in here whenever I can because she’s so much fun to write.

Oh snap! HAHAHA Poor Buffy, she will definitely have an interesting time tonight!!

great job, can't wait for the next chapter and to see the party in full swing!!

And here it is… Thanks for commenting.

This totally reminded me of Kissing Jessica Stein and the whole “sexy-ugly” thing they do. Sorry.

Hmm…

You make these characters true to their roots but completely your own, GREAT work and you never fail to deliver the goods.

Thanks. You know I was worried about that. It’s good to know I’m on the right track.

Ask and you shall receive. Thanks again.

Yes, it’s going to be fun times had by all. Thanks for reading.

While I normally love Anya's craziness, I'm with Faith on the party decorations. I would be ready to strangle her myself after that.

I think I made her a little too brash and demanding in the last update. She’s much more entertaining in this one.

I can't wait to see what happens with Buffy and Anya. I know there is going to be some initial freaking out followed by some awkard conversation. Oooo, will Faith overhear any of it and find out what Buffy has been shopping for? It's going to be so freaking awesome. I can't wait.

It seems to be that way with my last few updates. Lol.

Loved that she ran into Tara at the coffee shop and that Tara was apparently also having naughty thoughts. :fallen You do a very good of conveying the mutual want through their dialog. That is sometimes hard to do without coming right out and just saying it.

Thank you. I’m glad it’s coming across because I like it better this way.

Now, however, I'm concerned about the "creepy neighbor". Hopefully this guy is not really dangerous.

He’ll pop up but that’s not until later.

Anyway, loved Buffy's reaction at the end and looking forward to the party!

Well here are some more of Buffy’s reactions. Thanks for reading.

And now...
Anya: I don't like the sound of this. They don't sound very ex-demon compatible.
Tara: Are you sure they're English? I thought English people were, um, gentler than uh... normal people.

Notes: Thanks to Ariel for beta-ing this for me. And at super speed too. Another sort of cliffhanger. Sorry about that but this update is long enough as it is. Hope everyone’s having a great week.

Previously…

“Wait! Wait a minute! What the hell is she doing here?” Buffy said, frozen in place.

“Who?”

“That girl from the sex toy store! She’s standing there with Faith and Tara talking to them! What the hell is going on? How does she know Faith!”

Chapter Twenty Six

“Hey guys!” Faith called from her spot by the staircase. She smiled as she made her way over to the pair and Willow watched behind her as Tara laughed at something Anya was saying.

Maybe I should have warned Buffy, Willow thought suddenly feeling a little uncomfortable with the situation. I mean if the roles were reversed I’d be so mad at her for not telling me.

“Glad you could make it,” Faith said as she slid an arm around Buffy and placed a small kiss on her cheek.

“Yeah, sorry we’re a little late. Just lost track of time this evening,” Willow said when Buffy continued to remain dumbstruck.

“Hey, you came. That’s all that matters,” Faith said, still smiling, not seeming to notice Buffy’s discomfort. “Can I get you guys a drink?”

“Um, I’ll just have water for now,” Willow said. “Buffy? Buffy?”

“Huh??” The blonde finally snapped back to their conversation and realized that they were both staring at her expectantly. “Oh, um yeah… water is fine.”

“Ok, I’ll be right back,” Faith said with a smile as she made her way over to the bar.

“Ok seriously, what is that girl doing here and how does she know our girlfriends?” Buffy asked, an edge of panic in her voice.

Willow almost cracked then. She really did feel sorry for her friend and was pretty sure that Anya wouldn’t let Buffy slide through the night without some sort of embarrassing comment or anecdote. But then she remembered all of Buffy’s horribly timed interruptions over the past few weeks. All of the times that she’d missed out on more Tara time, whether that time was set up to be naked or not. Then she remembered that Buffy had actually been the initial reason she’d met Anya in the first place. She remembered the blonde dragging her into the store and making her stand there and watch as she got way to up close and personal to Buffy’s sex life. And that was the final nail in the coffin. Suddenly she didn’t feel so bad for her part in the little deception.

“Who?” Willow innocently asked. “Anya?” Buffy looked at her like she had three heads and Willow had to work really hard to keep a straight face. “That’s who’s throwing the party Buf. That’s Anya. She’s one of Faith's and Tara’s best friends.”

“But she’s the one… I mean… She owns that store… She helped us pick out… What the hell Will!” Buffy sputtered. “Why didn’t you tell me that she was the same girl?”

“I guess I just didn’t think about it,” Willow said, biting the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing.

“Willow!” Buffy cried before lowering her voice when a few of the bar's other patrons looked at her. “I bought a whip from her store! For my girlfriend!”

“What about your girlfriend?” Faith asked as she reappeared with two bottled waters.

“Oh... um… I was just saying…”

“She was saying she didn’t know her girlfriend was so popular,” Willow jumped in as Buffy stumbled over something to say. Both girls looked back at her curiously and she thanked God for her quick thinking and natural tendency to people watch. “Look around. You’re a hot item Faith. All these girls around here are checking you out.” She was proud of herself for assisting her friend but judging from the look on Buffy’s face, she hadn’t helped and had just created another worry for the blonde. Faith seemed indifferent though and took a long pull from her beer before saying anything.

“No, that’s not it. It’s the leather pants. Every time I wear them I always have girls asking where I got them.”

“And how to get you out of them right?” Willow joked. Buffy’s jaw dropped as she continued to stare at her friend. “I mean… Well… You know, I just was saying… Nevermind. I’m going to go say hi to Tara.” She smiled meekly at the couple, Buffy’s mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water and Faith just smiling back, and exited stage left.

Way to stick your foot in your mouth Willow, she thought as she made her way over to the staircase where Tara was standing, now alone, waiting for her.

“What’s wrong?” Tara asked as she met her. “You’re all flushed.”

“Oh, nothing. Just my natural tendency to let the thoughts in my head escape from my mouth unfiltered.” Tara just looked at the redhead, her head cocked to the side, waiting for a more elaborate explanation. Willow just shrugged and leaned forward, placing a chaste kiss against the blonde’s lips. “You look amazing.”

“Th-Thanks. So do you,” the blonde said, taking Willow’s hand. “Shall we go upstairs? That’s where most everyone is.”

“Lead the way,” Willow said, grateful for the view as Tara began to hike the stairs in front of her.

Wow, that skirt is just the right length.

She was enjoying the view so much that her foot caught on a step halfway up and she had to quickly grab onto the railing with her free hand to keep from toppling over. Tara, who had reached the top step, looked back to see what the commotion was about and giggled when she saw the redhead trying to gather herself together like nothing had happened.

“You ok?” she asked as Willow reached the top.

“Yeah, why?” Willow asked nonchalantly. Tara just smiled at her and took her hand, pulling her further into the crowd on the balcony.

Willow took note of all the people milling around them, some noticing the couple, some lost in their own worlds. Tara would occasionally wave and smile or say hello to someone here or there, but didn’t stop to actually engage anyone in a conversation. She stopped when she reached the far side of the balcony, motioning for Willow to sit on one of the available stools at the table there. Willow smiled her thanks and then noticed who was sitting at the table.

“Willow! So glad you could make it,” Anya said, taking a sip from the giant, pink alcoholic beverage in front of her, shaped like a fishbowl. The redhead cringed when she saw the straw had a penis at the end that the blonde was sucking from.

“Hi Anya,” Willow said, cautiously sitting at the seat furthest from the blonde.

“Where’s Faith?” she asked as Tara sat down next to Willow, their legs brushing beneath the table.

“She’s downstairs with Buffy. I’m sure she’ll be up in a minute though,” Tara said. “And when she comes up, you are to be on your best behavior.”

“My best behavior? The party just started. I haven’t done anything to anyone yet,” Anya insisted.

“Yet. You haven’t done anything yet,” Tara said.

“Oh please,” Anya said, taking another long sip from her drink. “It’s not like I purposely go around trying to find ways to embarrass people. People are just way too uptight and sensitive. Like you for instance. You’re obviously having sex…” This statement actually forced Willow to spit out the sip of water she’d just taken in a fine mist over the table but Anya didn’t seem to notice. “But if someone were to come up to you and say ‘excuse me, what type of material do you prefer your strap on to be made of,’ you would be left a stuttering, mortified mess. And I don’t understand why. You’d probably be helping the person asking if you’d just answer the question.”

Willow stared wide eyed as Anya just took another drink and turned to Tara, sure the blonde would be sporting a similar face to hers if she wasn’t hiding behind a curtain of hair. She was surprised when she saw a small smirk on the blonde’s lips, her eyes filled with mirth.

“Xander’s so lucky to have you,” Tara finally said.

“I know right. Crazy open to possibilities both in the bedroom and anywhere else he sees fit.”

“And, not to mention, you threw him this great party,” Faith said from behind them as she pulled Buffy up to the table and set down a tray of drinks.

“Damn right!” Anya said, taking another long sip from her drink, draining the last of the glass and replacing it with one of the glasses Faith had brought up with her. Faith pulled a stool out for Buffy next to Willow and took the seat between her and Anya.

“Buffy, this is Anya,” she said as she placed her hand on the small of her girlfriend's back. “Anya this is Buffy.” Anya turned to the blonde, her eyes slits, her head cocked to the side. Tara and Willow both watched curiously with bated breath as Buffy seemed to shrink back from the other girl.

“Buffy? Buffy?... Nope, doesn’t ring a bell,” she said after a long pause.

“Ahn!” Faith chided. “Come on, you know who she is.” Willow looked to Tara for an explanation but the blonde kept her eyes on Anya the whole time.

“Refresh my memory. Who is she again?” Anya asked, taking the split second to throw a covert wink at Tara while the other three girls exchanged looks with each other.

Oh no, Tara thought, suddenly finding it hard not to laugh at her friend's antics.

“Anya, don’t fuck around. You’re making me look bad,” Faith said, nervously. “I’ve told you about Buffy.”

“You do look familiar,” Anya said, her eyes piercing the blonde in question.

Buffy’s eyes grew wide and Tara had to fake a cough to cover the laugh that had involuntary erupted from her chest, taking a moment to look away from the table to compose herself. Anya never batted an eye though.

God she’s good, Tara thought.

“Have we met before?”

“Um… No. No I don’t think so,” Buffy said, her eyes leaving Anya’s and refocusing on the tabletop.

“I’m sure we have. I never forget a face.”

“It’s true, she doesn’t,” Tara said, unable to help herself. Willow looked over at her girlfriend, wondering what was going on and missed the smile that Anya almost cracked at Tara’s contribution.

“Well… Maybe you’ve seen me… somewhere,” Buffy stumbled. Faith looked back and forth between the two , almost like watching a tennis match, getting the distinct feeling she was missing something.

“Oh! I know why I know you!” Anya exclaimed, a broad smile coming to her face. “I own that toy store over on Madison, Anya’s Orgasm Hut…”

Oh here it comes, Tara thought, watching as Buffy’s eyes grew wide and her mouth opened almost as if she was waiting to deny any accusation thrown at her.

“I’ve seen you at the coffee shop next door!” Anya continued.

Buffy let out a huge breath of air and Willow cocked her head to the side, thoroughly confused about what was happening. Faith just sat back on her stool, the mention of Anya’s store bringing back the memory of Anya and Tara giggling in the booth of the bar after her mother’s funeral, something about a purchase Buffy had made. She looked to Tara for answers but found the blonde’s shoulders shaking with laughter as she tried to hide her smile behind her hands. Their eyes met and Faith, knowing her two friends as well as she did, immediately knew they were up to something.

“I see you there all the time,” Anya finished.

“Oh yeah,” Buffy said, letting a small smile of relief cross her face. “They make the best salted caramel mochas in town.”

“Yeah. That’s right. Now I remember you. You always get it with extra whipped cream,” Anya said, still casually smiling as she placed extra emphasis on that one word. Buffy immediately stiffened back up and Faith cocked her had questioningly at Anya.

Tara couldn’t hold back her exploding laughter any longer and the entire table turned to her before Anya began to laugh heartily too, unable to keep up the charade any longer. It was a long moment before the two calmed down enough to speak since every time they looked at each other and then at Faith their laughter erupted again.

“Oh, wow,” Anya finally sighed, wiping tears from her eyes. “Sorry. I’m sorry. It’s great to finally meet you Buffy. Faith’s told me so much about you,” she said as she climbed down from her stool and moved quickly to the troubled blonde, giving her a welcoming hug before putting an arm around both her and Willow.

“How many cocktails have you had tonight Ahn?” Faith asked, taking a sip of her own drink.

“Not nearly enough,” she answered. “In fact, why don’t we all do a shot? Faith… Tara… can you guys go get us all one. Have the bartender put it on my tab.”

The two in question looked at Anya, clearly afraid to leave their girlfriends alone in her care, but she just nodded and gave each one a small smile as they stood up from their stools and made their way towards the staircase.

“So, ladies…” she said, her arms still around the two left at the table. She gave them a simultaneous squeeze and then returned to her own seat, staring them down as she sat, her hands folded in front of her, her face completely serious. With one of the bar lights hanging directly over their table Willow suddenly felt like she was sitting across from an interrogator at a police station. “Tell me, what do you think of my girls?” she asked, motioning her head in the direction that Tara and Faith had disappeared to.

“Um… well…” Willow started and then trailed off, looking at Buffy for help.

“Well… they’re um… great?” Buffy said, turning between Willow and Anya.

“Are you asking?” Anya said, her head cocked to the right.

“No! No, not asking. They are… great that is,” Buffy said, looking over to Willow.

“Yeah. Really great! They’re… super great,” Willow said, looking back at her best friend.

“Look,” Anya softened. “You both seem like great girls. And I know how much Faith and Tara like you. They’re my two best friends in the whole world and I’d do anything for either of them. And since Tara’s family lives up north and Faith’s brother is in Portland, I feel it’s my job to give this particular ‘speech.’ I’m not going to air their business but Faith’s never felt about any girl the way she feels about you Buffy. And Willow, Tara’s falling for you fast. I love them both very much and if either of you breaks their heart, I’ll break your legs. Ok?”

Willow and Buffy looked and her for a long moment, seeing she was completely serious and nodded slowly.

“Good,” she said, breaking out in a genuine smile. “Now we can have some fun. So, Buffy, how’d that whip work out for you?”

***

“This was a mistake, leaving her up there with them, wasn’t it?” Faith said as they waited at the bar.

“I’m sure they’re fine,” Tara said.

“What the hell were you two up to up there? Was that planned or something?”

“No. You know Anya. She was just… being Anya.”

The bartender returned with a tray of six shots and smiled at them. Faith smiled back and grabbed the tray as Tara laid his tip on the bar.

“So are either of you ever going to tell me what Buffy bought at Anya’s store?” Faith asked as they climbed the stairs to the balcony.

“No way,” Tara said with a smile. “Buffy will show you when she’s ready.”

“Well will I at least enjoy it?” Tara stopped at the top of the staircase, turning to look at Faith, her smirk growing even wider.

“You’re going to love it,” she said, catching the appreciative smile of Faith lips before turning away and heading back towards their table.

As they approached the unmistakable mingled laughter of their girlfriends came through the crowd and Tara saw that Anya had apparently left them unscathed. Xander had joined them and it looked like Anya was in the middle of one of her erotic gone wrong stories from the way the other three were laughing.

“What did we miss?” Tara asked as Faith set the tray down.

“Ooh, Tequila. A manly drink indeed,” Xander said in his deepest voice.

“Happy birthday Xand,” Faith said as they all raised a glass and threw back the acrid liquid.

***

“Ok so maybe you were right. Maybe Tequila was a bad idea,” Faith said as she leaned back against the bar next to Tara and watched as a drunk Anya dragged an even drunker Buffy around the dance floor, the duo stumbling and laughing hysterically at the smallest things as they danced the night away. Tara nodded and turned to see Xander lining up a shot on one of the nearby pool tables, Willow standing next to him holding her own cue stick.

“Yeah, I was right,” Tara said, a smiled coming to her face as she turned back to the dance floor just in time to see Buffy struggling to help up a recently fallen Anya who was laying in the middle of the flood lights laughing.

“Hey there cutie,” Willow said a minute later, sliding up besides Tara, wrapping her arms around the blonde. Tara turned with a smile and took advantage of their close proximity to place a soft, lingering kiss against the redhead’s lips.

“Did you win?” she asked.

“No. It’s his birthday. I had to give him something,” Willow said, keeping her arms wrapped around Tara’s waist.

“Make him look manly in front of all his friends?” Tara said with a smile. Willow just nodded and leaned in for another kiss.

“So I think my girlfriend’s drunk,” Xander said as he sidled up to the girls, flashing each of them a smile. “Very drunk.”

“Blame Faith,” Tara said and they all laughed. “I’m glad they’re getting along though. Even if it is in an inebriated state.”

“Yeah but why does Anya keep pretending to whip Buffy? I mean she stole a guy’s belt on the dance floor like five minutes ago to lash at her with it and they all thought it was a riot,” Faith said, watching the duo. “Is that like a new dance mover or something?”

“No idea,” Tara said, laughing a little as she took a sip from the beer in her hand.

“It’s going to be a mess trying to get them home,” Faith said, finishing the last of her beer. “How are you holding up Xander?”

“Good,” he said. “This birthday wasn’t nearly as painful as I thought it would be.”

“The big 3-0. It’s not that big of a deal. Right?” Faith asked, looking worried all of a sudden.

“Calm down Faith. You still have a year and a half,” Tara said. “That’s plenty of time to grow up.”

“Oh ha ha. Whatever Tare, “she said, motioning to the bartender for two more beers. “I’m allowed to freak out a bit. It’s a big milestone.”

“I didn’t say a minor freak out wasn’t allowed. But I know you. And it’s not going to be minor,” Tara argued, smiling at the bartender as he handed her one of the longneck bottles.

“I hate to interrupt this little banter here but I think we should probably get out to the dance floor stat,” Xander said. “It looks like Anya might have pissed off someone out there.”

The three girls turned and immediately spotted their friend standing toe to toe with a much larger brunette, a group of the brunette’s friends surrounding her as backup. Buffy stood behind Anya, looking absolutely petrified as the blonde inched closer to the larger girl.

“Damn it,” Faith said as she quickly made her way onto the dance floor with Tara and Xander hot on her heels and Willow a few steps behind them. Faith was the first to reach the group, Tara only half a step behind her, and she was the relief wash over Buffy’s face as they quickly stepped between Anya and her current nemesis.

“Oh it’s on now, bitch!” Anya said, not registering as her friends pulled her away towards Xander. “These two are going to kick your ass!”

“Whoa, wait a minute. No one’s kicking anyone’s ass,” Xander interjected as he hauled Anya away to the far side of the bar, the blonde kicking and screaming obscenities the whole time.

“Sorry about her,” Tara said. “She’s just had a little too much to drink.”

“Well she better watch her skinny ass,” the other girls said, taking a step towards the duo. “She can’t just go around flirting with other girls' boyfriends.”

“Look, I’m sure she didn’t mean it,” Faith said, preparing to square off if the other girl didn’t back down. “So let’s just call it a draw. You go back to your party and we’ll go back to ours.”

Tara again stepped up beside her friend, hopping that the group would walk away but preparing for the opposite. Willow and Buffy stood side by side behind their girlfriends, both slightly astounded that the two boldly stood their ground. The other girl rolled her eyes after a moment and turned and walked away, her friends following her.

“Fucking Anya,” Faith sighed when they were out of earshot.

“What happened?” Tara asked, turning to a still shaking Buffy.

“She didn’t do anything. We were just dancing and she stole this guy’s belt. He thought it was funny but apparently his girlfriend didn’t think so,” Buffy explained. “We were all laughing after Anya gave it back to him but his girlfriend came over and started calling Anya all these names and stuff. I don’t know. It all happened really fast.”

“Well that doesn’t really deserve an ass whipping,” Faith said, seeming genuinely surprised that nothing more had happened.

“Well your organs are still intact and I’m still conscious so let’s just drop it,” Tara said, reaching for Willow’s hand and pulling her through the crowded dance floor. “You ok?”

“Yeah. Just kind of… surprised,” she answered.

“Sorry. This isn’t like a normal occurrence or anything.”

“No. No, not about that. I’m just surprised about you. I mean you could’ve gotten your ass kicked all because that girl has no sense of humor and just wanted to be a bitch,” Willow said, stopping once they were off the dance floor.

“Sorry. Kind of ruined the drunk good time,” Tara said with a smirk.

“No. I mean, seeing you almost get pummeled had a very strong sobering effect on me. But I just meant, well I just can’t believe you stood your ground like that. I mean, you could’ve really gotten hurt. Those girls were like huge. Like on steroids or something.”

“Will it’s ok,” Tara laughed. She searched the dance floor for Buffy and Faith since the couple hadn’t seemed to follow them off and found them in the middle of the crowd, their bodies saying to the music, completely oblivious to anyone else around them. “It turned out to be fine.” Willow stared at her for another moment, almost like she was waiting for more. “Look, Anya’s gotten into a few squabbles since we’ve been friends. Once she deserved her ass kicked but usually she’s just trying to have fun and ends up crossing the path with the wrong person and Faith or I or both have to come in for backup.”

“Have you ever gotten hurt?” Willow asked as she pulled Tara towards one of the empty booths in the back corner of the bar.

“Just once. That time wasn’t even Anya’s fault. She wasn’t even drinking. This girl in our dorm was getting picked on by a bunch of these girls at a frat party and Anya was just standing up for her. Hence when she couldn’t take on six girls by herself Faith and I came to the rescue. I ended up getting knocked out and Faith and Anya both had two black eyes for a week.”

“Tara!” Willow cried as she protectively pulled the blonde closer to her in the booth.

“I’m fine Will,” the blonde said with a smile. “Really. And I got in a few good punches before that happened.” The redhead stared at her, completely shocked that her sweet, gentle Tara had even been in a fist fight.

“How do you even know how to throw a punch?”

“My brother,” Tara said. “He taught me when I was in middle school. Said I should know how to do it without breaking my hand. And it came in handy later for these boxing classes I took.”

“Well, that’s still pretty brave of you guys,” Willow said as she settled back in the booth.

“I don’t know about b-brave,” Tara said. “But Anya, despite all evidence to the contrary always wants to help out anyone she can.”

“She’s not nearly as bad as I thought she’d be,” Willow admitted, looking out at the dance floor where Anya and Xander stood, their arms around each other. She turned back to Tara and smiled shyly when she saw the blonde’s eyes locked on her. “I actually am having a really nice time tonight.”

“I’m glad you came,” Tara said, turning her body towards the redhead. “Really glad.” Willow audibly gulped as she took in the naughty smirk spreading across Tara lips, the blonde sliding her hand up the redhead’s thigh.

“So… um… how much longer do you think we should stay?” Willow anxiously asked, the feeling of the blonde’s hand sliding higher and higher distracting her.

“Are you in a hurry to leave?” the blonde asked, leaning in even closer to whisper in the redhead’s ear. “Aren’t you having a good time?”

“No. I mean, yes I’m having a good time. I just…” she trailed off as she felt a soft pair of lips, nipping at her ear lobe, the blonde’s hand sliding in between her thighs. Luckily with the table blocking the view of any of the other bars patrons, the two just looked like they were whispering to each other.

“So why do you want to leave?” Tara asked, applying pressure to the seam of Willow’s jeans, making the redhead squirm as she tried not to buck up into Tara’s hand. “I mean we could stay here all night.”

So she wants to play? Willow thought, taking deep breaths to calm her raging libido. Well let’s play then. She turned her body slightly to the left and sliding her own hand up Tara’s thigh. Oh no. Bare skin. Probably should’ve thought this out more, Rosenberg. Steeling herself against the delicious feel of the blonde’s soft skin, she trailed her hand up higher, slowly moving it under the hem of Tara’s skirt. She felt the blonde stiffen for a moment and thought maybe she’d won the game. Her inner victory dance was cut off though when she felt Tara’s other hand slide over hers and move it completely up her skirt. Oh shit! Willow thought as she felt her hand reach Tara’s panties. The blonde moved her lips down Willow’s jawline before meeting the redhead’s lips directly in a short but passionate kiss. When she pulled back she couldn’t help but smile at the completely dazed look on Willow’s face.

“Please,” the redhead whispered. Tara just nodded and kissed her softly once again. Willow quickly slid out of the booth, pulling the blonde with her, and bolted for the door.

“Will, wait. What about Buffy? Didn’t you guys come together?” The redhead stopped and turned, locating her best friend in the corner of the dance floor, wrapped around Faith as they moved to the beat of the music.

“Damn it,” Willow said, wondering if her friend was purposely trying to keep her sex life stagnant or if God was just punishing her.

“Maybe Faith can take her home,” Tara suggested, a mischievous smirk coming to her face. “And we can go to my place.”

“That would be great. I mean as long as Faith goes with her. Do you think she will?” Because that would really awkward if she took Buffy to our house and then came to your place. Like really awkward. Like if she walked in the door at an inopportune moment and heard something. That would be so uncomfortable for her and a total mood killer for us. Do you think-”

“Will,” Tara interrupted, her smile transferring into one of amusement. Willow just smiled back meekly. Tara squeezed her hand reassuringly and pulled her onto the dance floor, stopping near Xander and Anya first.

“Hey guys, we’re going to take off,” Tara said.

“Really? Oh that’s too bad. We’re all going back to Xander’s in a bit,” Anya slurred. “You should really come with us.”

“Sorry. We’re just um… really tired,” Tara said, faking a stretch as Willow pretended to yawn.

“You liars,” Anya said with a smile. “But it’s ok to lie when you’re lying about sex. So go on, get out of here. You have my blessing.” Tara just rolled her eyes at the blonde as Willow stared between Anya and Xander, completely unsure of what to do.

“Good night Anya. Happy birthday Xander,” Tara said, giving each one a quick hug.

“Thanks for coming. Both of you,” Anya said, flashing Willow a smile.

“You’ll make sure she gets home ok?” Tara asked the dark haired man as Anya wrapped her arms around him.

“You bet,” he said, still smiling.

“Bye Willow,” Anya said, her head resting against Xander’s chest, her eyes closed. “Give Tara lots of orgasms.” Willow’s eyes went even wider and her mouth fell open to object but Tara just pyulled her away with a smile towards Buffy and Faith.

“Hey guys,” she said, pulling them out of an intense lip lock. “We’re going to head out. We’re going back to our place,” she said to the brunette.

“Oh, ok. Sure,” Faith said, seeming to come out of a daze as her lips left Buffy’s.

“Will you guys be ok?” Willow asked.

“Yeah, Faith can take me home,” Buffy said, her eyes glazed over, though Willow wasn’t sure if that was an effect from the proximity of Faith or the alcohol she’d consumed.

“Ok. We’ll see you later then,” Tara said, quickly turning and pulling Willow through the crowded bar, dodging dancers and half naked waitresses trying to sell specialty drinks. She shoved the door open and quickly headed around the corner, stopping there and pushing Willow against the brick wall, pinning her there, her lips crashing against the redhead’s.

“Eager or something?” Willow teased as she wrapped her arms around Tara, running her hands beneath the blonde’s shirt.

“Something like that,” Tara said, kissing the redhead once more. “Let’s grab a cab and get the hell out of here.”

DIBS!!! :whip :whip

Thank you, it does seem I am the dibs master :grin

Maybe I should have warned Buffy, Willow thought suddenly feeling a little uncomfortable with the situation. I mean if the roles were reversed I’d be so mad at her for not telling me.

For once I am glad Willow didn't tell Buffy anything, cause what comes up is way too freaking funny!

“Willow!” Buffy cried before lowering her voice when a few of the bar's other patrons looked at her. “I bought a whip from her store! For my girlfriend!”
“What about your girlfriend?” Faith asked as she reappeared with two bottled waters.

Poor Buffy, she is just having a hard time, but ya know what I love it!

Lol I love how Willow gets distracted by the 'view' hell I would be distracted.

Hehehehhe Tara can't help but join in and tease, at least Anya was somewhat nice when saying it was the coffee shop next door, at least for now...

“Yeah. That’s right. Now I remember you. You always get it with extra whipped cream,” Anya said, still casually smiling as she placed extra emphasis on that one word. Buffy immediately stiffened back up and Faith cocked her had questioningly at Anya.

Haha Buffy + whipped = Hilarity with Anya, man can't wait till Faith finds out about her purchase.

“Tell me, what do you think of my girls?” she asked, motioning her head in the direction that Tara and Faith had disappeared to.

the Bestie Warning, Disclaimer: No girlfriends were harmed in making this warning possible. LOL Great to see Anya so protective but friendly at the same time.

I feel it’s my job to give this particular ‘speech.’ I’m not going to air their business but Faith’s never felt about any girl the way she feels about you Buffy.

I like how she switches gears fast, so that the girls can relax.

“You’re going to love it,” she said, catching the appreciative smile of Faith lips before turning away and heading back towards their table.

hehe she will for sure enjoy!

Wow, Anya attracts trouble (surprised?) Of course the friends to the rescue and Xander hauls her off.

I am proud of both Faith and Tara, standing their ground. I'm sure that impressed their girl's too!

“Have you ever gotten hurt?” Willow asked as she pulled Tara towards one of the empty booths in the back corner of the bar.

I like seeing how Willow is concerned, but it's in the past. Honestly I would do the same if a friend was threatened, not thinking twice about it.

“Eager or something?” Willow teased as she wrapped her arms around Tara, running her hands beneath the blonde’s shirt.
“Something like that,” Tara said, kissing the redhead once more. “Let’s grab a cab and get the hell out of here.”

I really really REALLY hope we get to see this play out at the house. ~points to myself~ Love's W/T smut!

Great job, I am still laughing!!! Can't wait for more!!

Jessica,

Oh God, girl! This was rock the house hilarious! Here’s a few of many from my hit parade:

Wow, that skirt is just the right length.

She was enjoying the view so much that her foot caught on a step halfway up and she had to quickly grab onto the railing with her free hand to keep from toppling over. Tara, who had reached the top step, looked back to see what the commotion was about and giggled when she saw the redhead trying to gather herself together like nothing had happened.

Mmmmm. Tara-watching it should be an Olympic Sport and I’d be a gold medal winner!

Love bizarre straw and Willow sitting as far away as she can. :lmao Tribute to Anya’s drink: :pinky :party :pinky

Classic Anya – you’re a genius! :clap :applause :clap

Love Sexy Tara who can have a sense of humor, love Willow being surprised!

Okay, Anya’s whole cat and mouse game with Buffy is brilliant and I love Tara watching and admiring Anya’s style – so funny! Seriously, one of the funniest party scenes I’ve ever read. And the ‘whipped’ cream – oh, girlfriend, you’re killing me! :rofl

Okay, stopping now. Catching breath.

GREAT STORY – THANKS!!!!

Yay for Update Brilliance!

You did such a great job with Anya in this update. Her characterization was dead on and it was hilarious. I am with you, other than W/T, Anya was my favorite part of watching the show. I just couldn't wait to see what she would say/do next. There were so many great moments and I think AS and Ariel captured most the ones I would mention in their above feedback. The best compliment I can think to say is, Joss would have been proud. :clap :clap :clap
Tara: " I got so lost."
Willow: "I found you. I will always find you."

Awesome update! LOVED the party and LOVED Anya's teasing :whip of the clueless Buffy. I also love that I have a reason to use this particular emoticon. :whip :whip :whip Too bad there's no sound effects to go along with it, lol.

Your Tara is spunky! I enjoyed her story of the fight and worried Willow was adorable.

Great job with the sexy talk and their little teasing session in the booth. Glad to see them finally get some uninterrupted naked snuggle time together.

Looking forward to your next update!

I love that Faith is clueless about the inside joke between Anya and Tara. Tara may seem shy and quite but when it comes to her friends she will definitely do what it takes to protect them; love that about her. Looking forward to the next update.

Anya was quite under control in not totally embarrassing Buffy. Yay for Anya. It seems that Faith and Willow need to change places eventually (living situations I mean). This is so nice to read. Very fun and lovely.

Lol I love how Willow gets distracted by the 'view' hell I would be distracted.

Who wouldn’t get distracted with that view. Lol.

Hehehehhe Tara can't help but join in and tease, at least Anya was somewhat nice when saying it was the coffee shop next door, at least for now...

I thought it would be fun for Tara to take part in the fun.

Haha Buffy + whipped = Hilarity with Anya, man can't wait till Faith finds out about her purchase.

You’ll see the aftermath.

I am proud of both Faith and Tara, standing their ground. I'm sure that impressed their girl's too!

We all know Faith’s a bad ass and I think I can see Tara getting into that too, for a friend.

I really really REALLY hope we get to see this play out at the house. ~points to myself~ Love's W/T smut!

And here is a little taste of it…

Great job, I am still laughing!!! Can't wait for more!!

Good. I’m glad it hit that funny bone I was aiming for. Hope you enjoy the next bit.

Ariel - Hey Ariel!

Oh God, girl! This was rock the house hilarious!

Well your input was thoroughly appreciated and very helpful.

Mmmmm. Tara-watching it should be an Olympic Sport and I’d be a gold medal winner!

I think we’d all be competing. It might get ugly.

Love bizarre straw and Willow sitting as far away as she can. :lmao Tribute to Anya’s drink: :pinky :party :pinky

A credit to you. Thank you.

:rofl

I’m glad it went over so well. I wanted to take full advantage of Anya and I think it worked.

True_Love – Hey Lexi!

Yay! Glad you liked it. I really wanted to take full advantage of Anya. She fit in perfectly here and I’m glad everyone got a kick out of her antics. Hope the next update is as enjoyable, even though it’s not necessarily a funny chapter.

zampsa19752001 – Glad you liked the update. Again, Anya worked perfectly for the Buffy teasing and I liked showing Tara getting in on the action.

I hope Willow & Tara now have some really uninterrupted naked time together...

Coming up.

SMGOVAN -
That was abso-fricking-lutely perfect! You totally nailed Anya's teasing of Buffy :whip . I laughed my ass off :lmao .

Flattery will get you an update. Glad everyone enjoyed Anya in this chapter. I really enjoyed writing her.

I loved the sexxxy teasing between our girls at the club. Can't wait to see how they spend their interruption free sleep over together :drool .

Ask and you shall receive. Hope you enjoy.

Finey_McFine – Seems everyone enjoyed Anya’s teasing and antics.

Your Tara is spunky! I enjoyed her story of the fight and worried Willow was adorable.

She is. I didn’t know I would take that direction with her when I started writing but I’m glad it’s gone this way. And Willow of any sort is adorable in my opinion.

Great job with the sexy talk and their little teasing session in the booth. Glad to see them finally get some uninterrupted naked snuggle time together.

I feel like all I’m writing lately is smut for this story but it seems to be popular. Lol. Thanks for commenting.

love_2003 -
I love that Faith is clueless about the inside joke between Anya and Tara. Tara may seem shy and quite but when it comes to her friends she will definitely do what it takes to protect them; love that about her. Looking forward to the next update.

Faith’s going to figure it all out all in good time. And I like protective Tara too. Kinda hot. Thanks for the feedback.

JustSkipIt -
Anya was quite under control in not totally embarrassing Buffy. Yay for Anya.

I wanted it to be funny but not so outrageous that it wasn’t believable.

It seems that Faith and Willow need to change places eventually (living situations I mean). This is so nice to read. Very fun and lovely.

Thank you very much. I’m glad you’re enjoying it. This fic is going to wrap up before we get too far into their eternal lives forever but I’m definitely looking at how to integrate that whole living situation whether it’s here or in a possible sequel.
Anya: I don't like the sound of this. They don't sound very ex-demon compatible.
Tara: Are you sure they're English? I thought English people were, um, gentler than uh... normal people.

Previously

“Eager or something?” Willow teased as she wrapped her arms around Tara, running her hands beneath the blonde’s shirt.

“Something like that,” Tara said, kissing the redhead once more. “Let’s grab a cab and get the hell out of here.”

Chapter Twenty Seven

Willow felt a sharp piece of material jab into the middle of her back from the cold concrete wall behind her and for a split second tried to push away from the pain but quickly recovered as she felt Tara’s hand slide up her shirt and over her bra.

“Someone’s eager,” she said as Tara’s mouth left hers and immediately captured her earlobe.

“Could you not tell that in the cab ride over?” the blonde whispered.

Willow thought back to the relatively short ride from the bar the apartment on Logan Street. They’d both tried to behave themselves in front of the elderly cabdriver but she was pretty sure he’d gotten a bit of a show when she couldn’t help herself and had snuck her hand up Tara’s skirt while the blonde held her earlobe tight between her front teeth.

“Good point,” she said as she felt Tara’s lips roam down her neck. “So are we going to do this right here?” She glanced around the dully light stairwell, noticing the flaking yellow paint and chipped stairs, sure that if they did do anything here they’d leave covered in dust and grime. And as gorgeous as the blonde wrapped around her was, she didn’t particular feel like swatting away spiders as she tried to get her sexy on.

Tara just giggled when she saw the redhead’s eyes wandering to the dank corners of the stairwell and pulled away, grabbing Willow’s hand and pulling her quickly up the last set of stairs and into the hallway. She let go for a minute when they reached the door as she fished her keys from her purse. Willow stood patiently behind her, not wanting to distract her for even a second if it meant she’d have to wait longer to be with the blonde. Luckily without the distraction Tara quickly popped the lock and pushed the door open, pulling the redhead with her through the threshold.

Willow quickly shut the door behind her and pinned the blonde up against the hallway wall near the kitchen, their lips reuniting once again. She moaned as she felt Tara’s tongue flick against her lips, demanding entrance. She immediately yielded and sighed as the kiss went on, relishing in the feeling of Tara’s fingers, threading through her hair as the blonde nibbled at her lower lip.

She pulled the blonde away from the wall and maneuvered her into the kitchen, pushing her against the counter near the sink. She firmly grasped her by the hips, moving her hands under the hem of Tara’s shirt, tracing the skin she felt there above the waist of her skirt. She suddenly realized the blonde had far too many clothes on and couldn’t wait to get her out of them.

“How much do you like this shirt?” the redhead asked as she pressed the blonde harder into the counter.

“Right now?” Tara asked as she nipped at Willow’s neck. “It’s way too in the way.”

“Awesome,” Willow responded, grabbing both sides of the shirt and pulling them apart, the buttons giving way and popping off, flying about the kitchen.

“Will!” Tara pulled away, a surprised smile on her face. “I can’t believe you just did that.”

“Well it was really in the way and it was going to take way too long to get it off you,” she answered as she slid the garment off her shoulders, letting it fall to the floor, smiling back at the blonde. She leaned in again and kissed her once more, thrilled when her hands met Tara’s bare stomach.

“Well that’s… not really fair,” Tara said between kisses. “I can’t rip your shirt off.” Willow smiled into the kiss, feeling Tara tug at the bottom of her t-shirt. “I mean, I could try… but it might take a pair of scissors to start with.” Willow giggled and leaned back, allowing the blonde the room to take the garment off, tossing it towards the refrigerator.

“Better?” Willow asked as she leaned back into Tara. The blonde just smiled and kissed her once again, lightly scratching at her lower back. The kiss continued, growing more and more heated by the minute.

“Get on the counter,” Willow growled. Tara looked at the desire in her girl’s eyes and immediately raised herself up onto the counter, sighing when Willow stepped between her legs and kissed her once again, sliding her hands up Tara’s thighs as they connected once again. “Lift,” she said as she reached the hem of the blonde’s panties and tugged, indicating what she wanted. Tara quickly complied, lifting her hips as Willow pulled the garment down her legs in one swift motion. Dropping them to the floor, she wasted no time in reaching back under the blonde’s skirt, feeling the wetness that already was waiting there for her.

“Oh God Will,” Tara moaned as she felt nimble fingers pass over her clit, circling there for a moment as the redhead’s mouth attacked her neck. She grabbed onto the counter with one hand to steady herself and used the other to thread back through the red tresses, tickling her shoulder. She grabbed a handful of hair and gently tugged, receiving a groan from Willow in response. Tugging her back up, she stared into the yearning green eyes there, noticing they were both breathing heavily, their chests pressing back and forth against each other. “Inside. I want you inside.”

Willow just nodded and quickly slid her middle and ring finger into the blonde, watching as Tara closed her eyes with a moan and leaned back against the cupboards behind her. She continued to move her fingers in and out, her thumb brushing against the blonde’s clit with every stroke. She watched as her girlfriend writhed on the counter under her ministrations, quickening her pace as the blonde gasped for air and her moans became more and more frequent. She opened her eyes and met Willow’s stare just as the redhead felt her fingers tightly clutched for a moment before they were released and Tara collapsed against the cupboards again. Willow slowly withdrew her fingers, wrapping her arms around the spent blonde and pulling her to the edge of the counter.

“How do you do that?” Tara whispered after a moment of silence had passed them.

“Do what?”

“Make me cum so hard I can’t see straight.” Willow just giggled and held the blonde closer to her. She was content to just stay there, holding the blonde to her, her own desire on the backburner for the moment. That was until she felt Tara placing small kisses along her should and up and down her neck. She turned and captured the blonde’s lips and allowed the blonde to push her back as she slid off the counter. They wrapped their arms around each other and Tara used the moment to steer Willow back further and out of the kitchen and into the hallway.

“Where are we going?” Willow asked as she felt Tara reach down to work the button on her jeans through its hole.

“Well as much as I’d love to throw you down on the living room floor and do naughty things to you there, I’m already going to have to clean up the kitchen before Faith comes home. So why don’t we just go to my bedroom,” the blonde answered as she reached up and made quick work of the redhead’s bra.

“That makes sense,” Willow said with a smile, returning the favor and dropping the blonde’s bra in the hallway. Tara just kissed her again and pushed her through her bedroom door and onto her bed. She dropped her skirt on the floor at her feet and made quick work of the redhead’s jeans and panties in one swoop before climbing on top of the redhead.

Their lips met for a brief moment before Tara slid down the slighter girls body in record time, throwing the redhead’s thighs over her shoulders and plunging her tongue into the wetness waiting there for her. Willow let out a cry of delighted surprise as she hadn’t expected Tara to dive right in but quickly recovered and she felt the blonde’s thumb brush against her clit. She tried to hold back and relish the moment but she was far too worked up from the teasing at the bar and in the cab to hold out for too long. Her hips rocked up to meet Tara’s mouth with every thrust of the blonde’s tongue and it was only moments later that she threw her head back and grabbed two fistfuls of blanket as she felt herself tumble into orgasmic bliss. As she came back down into herself she felt Tara gently placing loving kisses along her inner thighs.

“Come here,” she pleaded, sighing when the blonde immediately complied, their naked bodies coming into full contact once again. Tara stared down at her, gently swiping a few strands of red behind Willow’s ears. “Thank you.”

“For what?” Tara asked with a laugh.

“Just… For being you. For being with me. For being amazing,” Willow said as she gently ran the palm of her hand across Tara’s cheek. She smiled at the blonde above her before leaning up to meet their lips together once more.

*****

It was way too early to be up but the incessant buzzing was making it really hard for Willow to stay asleep. She tossed and turned in the unfamiliar bed for a moment before feeling a pair of arms securely encircle her and pull her tight against another body. She sighed at the feeling of safety that enveloped her and snuggled closer, leaving no space between her and the soft skin next to her. Another sigh escaped her lips when she felt a gentle kiss placed on her forehead.

Tara, she thought, gently squeezing the blonde as she started to nod off again. It wasn’t two minutes later that she was once again awoken by an irritating buzzing sound.

“Will,” Tara groaned as she rolled away from the redhead and pulled a pillow over her face. “Make your phone behave.” Willow giggled as she opened her eyes and took in the blonde’s prone form.

“Sorry Tare,” she said as she leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on the pale shoulder in front of her. Tara lifted the pillow from her face, flashed the redhead a lopsided grin and rolled over to the other side of the bed. Willow’s eyes traced the soft planes of the blonde’s back, getting lost in the sight but the sound of her phone ringing again brought her out of her reverie and she quickly scrambled to quiet it. She looked at the screen and her good mood immediately vanished when she saw who was calling.

Mom.

“Fuck,” she whispered, sending the call straight to voicemail and seeing that she had already missed numerous calls from the older woman and a message already waiting. She sat up, wrapping the sheet around her and pressed the phone to her ear. Hearing her mothers’ voice there sent chills up her spine and she unconsciously pulled the sheet tighter around her chest.

“Willow, its mom,” she heard her sniffle. “I really wish you’d answer. I really need to talk to you.” Another sniffle. She’d heard her mother pull the whole crying bit more times that she could count but no matter how insincere it was, it still tugged at her heartstrings. “I really feel awful about the way we left things the last time we talked and I’d really like to see you. And I know your father would like to see you too. We both really miss you Willow. I don’t really want to discuss this over the phone. So please just stop by today. Maybe we could have dinner? That would be nice right? Oh I wish you’d answer.” Another sniffle. “Please come over.”

Willow pulled the phone away from her ear and deleted the message.

“Double fuck.”

“What? What’s wrong?” Tara asked, still turned away from the redhead.

“Nothing,” she answered as she silenced the Blackberry and threw it towards her jeans on the floor. She laid back on the bed and stared up at the ceiling, her whole body tense with stress. She knew what her mother wanted but despite the blowout she’d had with her, she was now questioning once again where or not she could turn her back so easily on her parents.

“Will?” Tara turned her head towards the ceiling so she could see the distraught redhead out of the corner of her eye. “You ok?”

“Hmm? Oh yeah. Sure,” Willow replied, still distracted as she stared at the smooth, white surface of Tara’s ceiling.

“What is it?” the blonde asked, rolling over to press her body against the redhead’s and propping her head up on one arm to look down at her girl. She reached under the sheet, placing her hand flat on the redhead’s bare stomach, rubbing softly in a circular motion.

Willow just sighed, trying to avoid Tara’s gentle blue stare, knowing if she didn’t it would break her resolve to keep her tears at bay.

“Nothing. Just… work stuff,” Willow said with a small smile that didn’t even come close to reaching her eyes. Tara didn’t buy it though.

“Will…” Tara continued to stare at the redhead, her hand still rubbing in gentle circles. But Willow made no attempt to share anything else. Tara sighed and rolled away, sitting on the edge of the bed.

“Where are you going?” Willow asked, the distance between them enough to snap her out of her daze.

“Oh um. J-Just to the bathroom,” Tara said as she stood up, grabbed a handful of clothes and left the room.

“Triple fuck,” Willow groaned. She reached up and vigorously rubbed her face, her frustration now solely aimed at her herself before dropping her forearm across her eyes. She laid there for a few minutes longer before grabbing up the blanket on the end of the bed and wrapping it around her as she made her way towards the bathroom.

“Tara?” she called softly as she tapped on the door. She could hear the shower running and tried the knob to see if the door was locked. It wasn’t and she slowly pushed it open. “Tara?” she called again, poking her head into the room already thick with steam.

“Yeah?” She stepped further into the room, leaving the door partially open.

“Tara, I’m sorry. I wasn’t… I mean… Uh!” Willow pushed herself up onto the sink counter and pulled her knees to her chest, irritated by her sudden lack of ability to verbalize her thoughts. She was relieved when Tara stuck her head around the shower curtain, her blue eyes soft.

“It’s ok Willow. W-Work stuff. I g-get it.” Willow briefly shut her eyes as Tara closed the curtain. When she reopened them she stared at the space where she thought Tara stood, wishing she had the guts to tell the truth. But it just wasn’t the time. She had to deal with her parents first.

She sat there in silence for a few more minutes until the shower cut off and she watched Tara step out and towel off.

“I hate to bother you but is your car here?” she asked as Tara tucked the beige towel around her chest.

“Yeah. I r-rode with Faith to the bar last night.”

“Could you maybe take me to get my car? I’ll pay you handsomely for your services,” the redhead pleaded with a small joking smile. To her relief Tara cracked a small smile of her own.

“Sure. No p-payment necessary,” she said as she reached for her toothbrush.

“Well what about if I use your shower?” Tara just smiled again around the toothbrush now in her mouth and reached for a fresh towel, handing it to Willow. “So charitable,” she said as she hopped of the counter and dropped the blanket wrapped around her. “After this, how about breakfast? On me?” Tara just nodded and watched as the shower curtain closed.

“I’ve never actually been here,” Willow said as she locked her car and walked towards the doors of The Waffle House with Tara.

“Really? Faith and I come here almost every Sunday. Sometimes we bring Anya with us if it’s early enough to avoid her insulting the church crowd,” Tara explained.

“She’d have them running, that’s for sure,” Willow said and she reached for the door and held it open for the blonde. She followed her into the restaurant, past the sign that read ‘Please Seat Yourself’, and to a booth in the corner. She looked around the old-fashioned little diner, noticing they were by far the youngest patrons there by at least thirty years.

“Hey Tara,” their waiter greeted as he approached their table, menus in hand.

“Hi Brad,” Tara said with a smile as she took one of the menus.

“No Faith today?” he asked, handing a menu to Willow but keeping his eyes on the blonde. “Dan’s going to be disappointed. He was looking forward to seeing her today.” Tara just nodded and asked for a large orange juice. Brad briefly turned towards Willow, looking uninterested in her order.

“Coffee?” she said, politely. He flashed Tara one more smile and left to get their drinks. She turned to Tara but the blonde was preoccupied with her menu. “So you’re popular here?”

“What?” Tara asked, looking up from her menu.

“You. Faith. You’re popular here.” She wasn’t asking this time.

“No. I m-mean like I said, we’re here every Sunday.” Tara seemed confused by the conversation.

“Who’s Dan?”

“The cook. Why?”

“He’s into Faith?” Tara just smiled and nodded, looking back at her menu.

“And our fabulous waiter Brad obviously has a crush the size of Montana on you,” Willow said with a hard stare in his direction.

“What!” Tara’s head snapped up. “That’s so not true.”

“It totally is,” Willow said, giggling at Tara’s response. “Watch.” Brad came back at that moment and reverently placed Tara’s juice before her before thumping Willow’s coffee down in front of her, the black liquid sloshing over the rim of the cup and onto the table.

“Have you decided?” he asked, beaming at the blonde.

“Oh, uh, Will? Are you ready?”

“Sure,” the redhead said with a huge smile. “I’ll have the pancakes please,” she said as she reached out and laced her fingers through Tara’s in the middle of the table. She could help but take pleasure as she watched Brad’s face fall and his shoulders slump. “What about you babe?”

“French toast please,” she said with a meek smile. He just nodded and walked away. Willow smiled victoriously and did a little dance in her seat. Tara just stared back, a warning in her eyes.

“What?” Willow asked innocently.

“What was that all about?”

“Nothing. Just showing everyone how into my girlfriend I am,” she said. Tara just smiled back, unable to help herself and gently squeezed Willow’s hand.

“Well I’m pretty into you too,” she said as she brought Willow’s hand to her face and softly kissed each knuckle individually. Willow could only beam.

“What is it with you and getting frisky in public places?” Tara asked as Willow’s lips travelled down her neck. She’d pinned the blonde there against her Civic after they’d left the restaurant and the peck she’d meant to give her had turned into a full blown make out session in a matter of seconds.

“When have I ever tried anything in a public place?” Willow said, her mouth focusing on the spot where the blonde’s neck met her shoulder.

“Well it wasn’t at Disneyland but I can remember at least two other occasions where pants were starting to come off at my front door,” the blonde said as she leaned her head further to the right to give Willow better access.

“Well missy, you’ve had your share of public debauchery. The park… the bar last night… followed by the stairwell of your building,” Willow argued. Tara just smiled and pulled the redhead up to her own lips, unable to be away from her sweet kisses any longer.

“Will,” Tara sighed a moment later. “Your thigh’s vibrating.” Willow had felt her phone vibrate from her jeans pocket twice in the last five minutes but had no intention of answering it.

“That’s what voicemail is for,” she said, pushing the blonde harder against the car. Tara just giggled and let the kiss go on for another moment before she once again felt the vibration on the redhead’s thigh. “Damn it!” Willow groaned as she pulled away and reached for her phone.

Buffy

“I’m sorry. Just give me a second ok?” the redhead said, quickly kissing the blonde once more before answering. “Hey.”

“Will, hey um… Are you with Tara?” Willow immediately grew concerned at the blonde’s worried tone. She motioned to the blonde to give her a minute and stepped away.

“Yeah why? What’s wrong?”

“Um… Your parents are here,” Buffy said, quietly.

“What!” Willow froze fifteen feet away from Tara as she felt the wind knocked out of her.

“They’ve been here for like forty-five minutes.”

“In the house?”

“No! Oh my God there’s no way I would let them in. They’re out on the porch, waiting for you, littering the yard with cigarette butts I might add.”

“What happened?” Willow sighed as she ran a hand across her forehead.

“I don’t know. Faith and I were upstairs and Dawn came and got me. She said they’d been pounding on the door for like half an hour before she finally answered and told them to go away. And after she couldn’t reason with them she came and got me. I told them you’re not here and I threatened to call the cops if they didn’t leave but I don’t want to do that to you Will. That’s only going to hurt you, not them.”

“Oh my God Buffy, I’m so sorry.”

“Will don’t you dare apologize. This isn’t your fault. I just don’t know what to do.”

“Did Faith see them?” Buffy paused for a minute and Willow felt her stomach turn.

“I tried to avoid that Will but there was kind of a commotion. She came downstairs to check on me and Dawn.”

“Shit!”

“I know. I’m really sorry. I wasn’t trying to let her or Tara in on the whole thing but…” Buffy trailed off, unsure of what else to say.

“No, I get it. It’s ok,” Willow said, resigning herself to the fact that she wouldn’t be able to keep the situation from the blonde for much longer. “Look, don’t do anything just yet. I’ll be there in like fifteen minutes ok?”

“Absolutely. Be careful coming home,” Buffy said as Willow hung up. She stood there, shoulders slumped as she collected her thoughts, wondering why she had to deal with this. Why she been chosen to have these particular parents. Why they had chosen the path they had.

“Willow?” Tara called from behind her. The redhead sighed and slowly turned towards the blonde, unable to hide the frustration in her face. “Will? What is it? What’s wrong?” Tara asked, stepping towards the redhead.

“Nothing,” she grumbled as she stepped past Tara towards her own car.

“Will, wait,” Tara said as she reached out and grabbed the redhead’s forearm. “Talk to me. What’s really going on?”

“That was Buffy. I need to get home,” she answered, keeping her eyes glued to the pavement at her feet.

“Is something wrong?”

“Tara… Look, I’m sorry. I have to go though.”

“Willow, please. I’m just trying to help. I know something’s up and I just… I just wish you’d talk to me about it.”

“Tara,” Willow sighed, rubbing her face again, feeling her frustration bubble over in the pit of her stomach. “You can’t help ok! No one can help! I have to take care of this and I have to take care of it now! I don’t have time for this!” She pulled her arm away and looked up to meet Tara’s eyes, surprised by the hurt she saw there but unable to stop herself. “I have to go.” She turned and stomped towards her car, quickly getting in and pulling away without one more look at the blonde.

Tara stood there, arms folded across her chest, trying desperately to keep her tears at bay as she watched the redhead speed away. It was a futile effort though as one slid down her cheek. She quickly unlocked her Civic and climbed in, leaving the parking lot in the other direction.

*****

Willow sped towards Revello Drive, her mind going in a dozen different directions all at once, giving her a throbbing headache. Her little Corolla protested as she tried to go faster but she ignored the whining coming from under the hood as she took a dangerously fast right turn and just managed to avoid hitting the curb on the opposite side of the road. She quickly pulled back into her lane and began to slow as she saw the house coming up on the right. In the past ten minutes since she’d left the restaurant she’d thought of absolutely nothing to say to her parents beyond lots of yelling and a few choice words.

She whipped her car into the driveway, stopping just short of rear ending Buffy’s little Mazda and killed the engine. Sure enough there were her parents, seated on the front stoop, smoking like chimneys. Seething, she got out of the car, slamming the door behind her so hard the car rocked back and forth, and stormed towards the porch, her hands balled into fists at her sides.

“What are you two doing here?” she said in a low voice, her teeth clenched together.

“Willow, darling I’ve been calling you all morning,” Sheila answered, suddenly perking up at the sight of her daughter.

“What are you doing here?” Willow repeated a little louder.

“We wanted to talk to you, right dear?” Sheila said, turning to Ira who showed no interest in the conversation.

“Hmm,” he mumbled, non-commitally before releasing a series of wet, hacking coughs that sounded like maybe be might lose a lung.

“What do you want?”

“We just want to talk to you,” Sheila answered, taking another drag of her cigarette.

“Well wait for me to call you back! Don’t come over here and pound on the door and humiliate me!”

“Well we just wanted to make sure you were ok. Where were you? Why didn’t you call me back?”

Willow took a deep breath, looking around the neighborhood as she blew it out. Finally turning back to face her parents she felt her anger getting ready to spill over.

“For the last time…What do you want?” Sheila’s smile faltered at the menacing tone in her daughter’s voice and Ira finally looked up for the first time at his daughter, seeming surprised at the rage he saw there in his eyes.

Sheila took one last drag off her cigarette before standing and flicking it into the flower bed to her right. It had lilies this year. Buffy’s mom had always alternated between lilies and irises and after she’d passed, Buffy and Dawn had kept the traditional spring planting going in her honor.

“Well,” Sheila said as she stepped towards her daughter. “I just thought you’d like to talk. About the whole fight we had. And see if we can put it behind us.”

“Not really. No,” Willow said firmly, unable to take the charade anymore. “So why don’t you cut the bullshit and tell me why you’re really here.”

“Willow!” Ira chastised from his spot on the porch. “Don’t speak to your mother like that.”

“Well you know, I haven’t had the best role models when it comes to showing respect so I’m just going by what I learned from you guys,” Willow said snidely.

“Willow!” her parents warned in unison, Ira trying to scramble up from his seat, having a difficult time since one of his arms was still in a sling, and Sheila taking a threatening step towards her daughter. This was a classic move in the Rosenberg house all the years she’s spent there. And Willow had quickly learned to back down if she saw either of her parents do it. She wasn’t about the back down this time though. She squared her shoulders and stood her ground as her dad sidled up next to her mom.

“Look, whatever you’re here for, I’ll deal with it later. I don’t have time right now so you need to go home. I’ll call you when I do have the time.”

“Willow, why do you think we want something? We’re just here to see you. We’ve both really missed you.” Willow didn’t think her mother knew just how good she was at being fake. She couldn’t remember the last time she had actually seen the woman being genuinely kind. She couldn’t remember if she’d ever seen it.

“Whatever mom. Just go home. I have some things to sort out here and I’ll call you when I can. Don’t worry. Your personal ATM will take care of whatever mess you got yourself into.”

The slap to her face didn’t surprise her. The force that whipped her head a full forty five degrees to the side didn’t surprise her. It was whose hand that slap had come from that was a shock. She’d received countless slaps, shoves, and an assortment of other violent acts from her mother over the years. But to date this was the first time her father had ever raised his hand to her. She reached up and touched her already throbbing cheek and she turned her head back to face her parents, both their faces stone cold.

“Will!” Buffy called as she burst out the front door onto the porch, Dawn hot on her heels, wielding a golf club and Faith only a few steps behind.

“It’s fine,” Willow said, holding up her hand to stop the avenging mob from coming any closer. “I’m fine you guys. Just go back inside.”

Dawn and Faith both turned to Buffy for permission. The blonde nodded but didn’t follow, turning her icy gaze back to the redhead’s parents when the door closed behind her little sister. Her eyes turned to Willow after a moment and instantly softened.

“Mom. Dad. Whatever you’re here for, I don’t have time. Go home now before I call the cops,” she said, giving each of them a hard stare before stepping around them and up the porch. She turned when she reached Buffy and watched as they lumbered slowly down the walkway to their rusted out Chevy.

“You ok?” Buffy quietly asked, touching a comforting hand to the small of Willow’s back.

“Not really,” Willow said, touch her cheek again, feeling the heat already radiating off it in waves. She knew she would have quite a bruise in just a few hours. “Damn it! Damn them!”

“What did they want?” Buffy asked, cringing as the old Chevy backfired as they took off down the street.

“Money. Fuck! I hate this!” Willow yelled as she walked further down the wide front porch. “I can’t believe they actually… I mean… Grr!” She turned and kicked one of the spindles, snapping it in half like a toothpick. Looking down at what she’d done, she instantly turned to Buffy, eyes wide, the anger completely gone from them. “Oh my God Buffy, I am so sorry.” She reached for the spindle, trying to push the two pieces back together and only succeeded in breaking them completely off the railing. “Oh shit!”

“Will, it’s ok,” Buffy said, walking to the redhead and taking the broken pieces from her friends hands. “You know this porch is rotting out way faster than I can replace it.” She dropped the pieces in the corner of the porch and turned back to the redhead, her heart breaking as she saw the tears running down the slender girls face. “Will,” she said, taking her into her arms. “It’s ok. It’s going to be ok.”

“No. No it’s not. I don’t know what to do about them Buffy. They just won’t leave me alone. And I can’t take it anymore. They’re just… They’re bad Buffy. They’re so bad. And Faith just saw this whole thing… And Dawn… And you. And I broke your porch. And I hurt Tara’s feelings.” The redhead’s tears were flowing freely now as she leaned into Buffy’s comforting embrace.

The blonde just held tight as the sobs continued to wrack the redhead’s body.

Anya: I don't like the sound of this. They don't sound very ex-demon compatible.
Tara: Are you sure they're English? I thought English people were, um, gentler than uh... normal people.

Re: An Everyday Life (Update 10/20/11)

DIBS! Yay! I out dibbed the Dibs-Mistress HA HA HA!

Jess, this was another great update. As much as I loved the hilarity of the last update, my true love of fiction comes from the roller-coaster ride of emotions that a character can endure in a single day/chapter. You captured that so perfectly here in the case of Willow. Her journey started with the hot and sexy adventures of Willow and Tara with a touch of love mixed in. Then she woke in a love hangover only to have her emotions quickly change to frustration and insecurity. By the end of the update it's all rage and sadness. What a ride you've given us all! I felt like I was right there with the characters watching as their stories played out.

Willow really needs to go to Tara and talk to her before Faith does. It's sad that Tara is the last to know and it should never be that way, but I guess that is probably true to life. Sometime things just work out like that.

Can't wait for more!
