Every night is "Groundhog Day" in my house. This is the same argument/discussion we've been having since she was around 4.

ME: Ok, it's time to take a shower.
J: But I wanna watch CSI:Miami.
ME: You have 30 minutes before it starts, please go take a shower.
J: I don't need to, I went swimming yesterday.
ME: The pool is NOT equal to bathing with soap.
J: Here, smell my hair...it's fine.
ME: I don't care. Go. Take. A. Shower.
J: But I went in the POOL and chlorine is WAY cleaner than soap!
ME: Ok, fine. No bath-no CSI.
J: WHAT?! Why are you SO obsessed with smelling good? It's completely overrated!

On the bright side, if this continues, we NEVER have to worry about her with boys, lol. Now on to the great "time for bed" debate.

Shel - I so get that. Our goes more like... "you need to put your clothes in the hamper and put on pajamas and go to the potty and wash your hands..." "what are you doing?" "what?" "really? you don't know what you need to do next?" "are you wearing pajamas? then what do you think you need to do next?" and on and on and on...

My cat has decided, suddenly, that my shoulders look like a great perch. Instead of sitting on the desk by the laptop, or in the chair next to me, or even in my lap...she has started standing up with her paws on my shoulder. The past two days she has actually climbed up onto my shoulders and sat for a while before deciding she'd had enough. Weirdo.

But hey, if I can turn this into a trained behavior...I'll really impress at house parties!

Background: 1) Adam reviews video games 2) I have a minor in religion, most of which was classes on Judaism 3) My life is not for the easily offended.

Adam: So, I think I want to play The Binding of Isaac, but I'm not sure I want to review it.
Me:
Adam: I mean, they have review codes, and I could probably get one, but I don't think I'd have anything interesting to say about it. It's a Rouge-like. Plus, it's only $5, so we can . . . .
Me:
Adam: What?
Me: "The Binding of Isaac"?!
Adam: Is this some Jewish thing?
Me: You remember the story in the Hebrew Bible where God tells Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, and Abraham is all like "sure God, let me go grab him and a knife"? That's story is called The Binding of Isaac.
Adam: Well, it's also a video game. By one of the guys who made Super Meat Boy.

Well, it turns out that the game is in fact inspired by the biblical story. It's . . . well, it's a lot of fun, but also really seriously fucked up. The game was also released on the first day of Rosh Hashanah, which can't have been an accident: The Binding of Isaac is part of the Rosh Hashanah liturgy.

Before I went into business for myself, I worked for another company for over 16 years. During that time I hired and fired literally hundreds of people. Occasionally I run into people that I had to let go and if I remember them, it's usually a sign that they really were up to no good.

So, today my wife and I were picking up something that we ordered at Sears and this guy (a dept. mgr) recognizes me. I didn't know who he was at first, but when he said his name, and I totally remembered but continued to play stupid.

Since he though I had no idea, he proceeds to tell me, "Yeah, you were my supervisor when I left to finish college. You begged me to stay, but my education was just too important."

I just nodded my head and said something like, 'yeah, I vaguely remember.' But it was more like...'Uh, I totally remember. You were a complete slacker that failed a random drug screen. You tested positive for cocaine and you were a suspect in the theft of over $10,000 in cash.' I guess that must have completely slipped his mind.

Why can't I ever run into the people that I enjoyed working with?

How does a 40 year old woman NEVER remember to put back down the thingy that makes a shower back into a bath? Then I turn on the water in the morning and get sprayed with cold water. And it's not every day... It's just every once in a while so I don't remember to check if she used the shower or anything.

Chiara just came to get me saying, "Ima, there's a dead animal in the back yard. You have to see it." Sure enough, big dead rat right at the bottom of the trampoline steps. I can't say how freaked out I am. I mean... Rodents just. I try. I really do. We go to pet stores and I say how cute for the kids and stuff but I am absolutely shaking both about a rat and a dead rat. I just called friends AT CHURCH to see if they would come get rid of it for me. They are going to try to stop on the way to their dinner plans. I am going through a mental list of who else I can call. I wish I could just suck it up and not think about it and put the damn thing in a plastic bag and be done with it but ... I'm inside and still shaking. Shaking.

I had a bittersweet journey to work. Firstly I managed to cross the road unexpectedly easily, just in time to catch the tram - the driver said to me that it was my "lucky day" as he had stopped just in time. I then looked at the sunshine outside and listened to ABBA at ear-splitting volume for 40 mins (Voulez-Vous/Visitors era). However when I went to get off the tram my Myki card wouldn't swipe and so I got trapped on the tram for a few minutes before realizing that my eye sight really is that bad and the woman's head I thought I saw (I thought there was another stop and there was another passenger on board) was in fact a pole. So then I had to wait for the tram to return to the last stop and walk the long way round to my office.

My mum: ( while laughing) "Yes we will it might drive you insane though"
I love my mum and the humour I have inherited from her, most of the time.

I've been trapped in a high school since 5:30 this morning and have come to this conclusion: The smell of the school cafeteria NEVER changes. It's exactly the same today as it was when I was in school and NO OTHER place on the planet emits such an odor. I can't even begin to describe it, but I think you ALL know what I'm talking about.

Had a great conversation about life with a gas attendant. He was from Egypt. I know I struck something in him, cos he had that inspired look on his face once I finished talking to him. I like that.

Helped my team win major points at trivia tonight thanks to a lesbian novel. Thank you, Sarah Waters and "Tipping the Velvet"! :eatme

I think my mother is one step closer to accepting the fact that I'm gay. Parents of the board, here's a great new way to horrify your teenagers, too!

Me: My upper arms, thighs, and abs all hurt! :(
Mom: Sounds like you were doing some serious thrusting.
Me: D:
Mom: ...you're a fag, I get that.
Me: D: D: D:
Mom: So was it Jen or Lexy?

so after doing a couple of errands there I sat in my local village and although it was cold it was very sunny and bright so I thought it was beautiful and so nice and rare for october and anyway so there I was drinking some juice and relaxing on the bench under some trees before walking home and then this bird thinks its a good idea to fly and poop at the same time, the poop landed on my hand and in my hair, thank goodness I had some hygiene gel in my bag and thank goodness I had ran my errands before. I had a lovely shower and washed my hair when I got back, apparently its meant to be goodluck but I wasnt feeling too lucky at the time lol. I love and respect nature but why little birdy why? lol.

For the last couple weeks I've been photographing cheerleaders and this is what I discovered...

-They wanted something different but exactly the same as everyone else
-The majority of their names started with the letter 'K'
**Katelyn, Katie, Kourtney, Kylie, Kasie, Kenzie, Karley, Kendall, Krista, Kristie, Keyla, Kacey, and Kailee

Seriously...it was Krazy!

Adam: Ugh. Girls never look good in sports jerseys.

Me: They can.

Adam: No, they look like they've been claimed by a jock. Which is not hot.

Me: Yeah, but that's not always the vibe . . . hang on. See! Totally hot.

Adam: Nope, still feels all jock-y.

Me: What the hell is wrong with you?

Adam: Nothing's wrong with me. But something is wrong with you; you pulled that up in like, a minute flat.

Me: Well, yeah. It's from "Seeing Red."

Adam: And?

Me: I don't know if I can love you anymore.
