This was just great Sassette. I also loved the way you started the chapter with Spike talking about a little death and ending it with the good meaning of a little death. Totally brilliant and cool.
Tara singing Spice girls was LOL and the reunion scene was just perfect. I am so looking forward to your next update.

I loved what you did with Tara singing the Spice Girls thing. I was laughing SO hard. And I am so unbelievably happy that they're back 2gether. I liked it so much I'm gonna read it again. So I'll just sit back, eat my popcorn, and read it again, and again, and again...

Now THAT was an interesting way to start the morning!

My employees are going to be so confused at the little grin I won't be able to wipe off my face...which is good, and slightly...uncomfortable. Thanks for the jump start on a cold cold day.

You know, it just occurred to me last night that of all the excellent fanfic I've read on this board, I don't think I've reread anyone's work as much as I do yours. The reunion was all we could hope for and more. Thanks so much for such a beautiful installment.

Holy Schnikeys ... there's a lot of love in this thread right now *evil chuckling* Just so's you all know, you can thank TX for the, err ... *cough* last three pages or so of that update. Y'see, I don't write sex scenes, but TX threatened to shoot me if I didn't, so ... there you have it.

**TX: Awww, I love you, too. So ... this means I don't get shot, right? *G* And I should hope I'm your favorite smurf ... it'd be weird if you actually KNEW any others.

**mollyig: Thank you ... it took me awhile to get there, but I'm glad I did ... I'm very happy for our girls right now.

**jomarch: Heh ... I figured someone would pick up on that ... and yes, there is much amusement to be had pondering The Spice Girls and their existence. And Tara singing their stuff? *scampers off, giggling madly*

**ForeverPiper: Y'know, I hate to admit it, but I actually do like that song. Not in a 'Oh, wow ... this is the best song in the world' kind of way, but in a 'Oh, God - this stuff is FUNNY' kind of way. Enjoy the re-reads.

**delany: Is that a little drooling smiley? LOL! And yes, I personally don't read sex scenes when my mother is around ... oh, wait - I don't read sex scenes at all *G* But next time, I'll be sure to put up "Don't read at work or around Mom".

**Bobo's Mom: Well, umm ... Good Morning! Have fun at work! And if anyone asks why you're smiling, tell them you just remembered seeing 'King Ralph'.

**nika: *runs over and gives mouth to mouth*

**W.I.: Glad you liked it, and I hope you're feeling better today *G*

**willow_thebadasswitch: Heh ... typing out that name gave me a giggle *G* And yeah, I liked the kitchen scene, too ... when I first started writing the update, I was tempted to end it there, but then I remember - TX, gun ... so I kept writing

**Scout: Awww, thanks Scout ... and I'm really glad to hear the reunion lived up to expectations. That's really all >I< can hope for *G*

Wow! I laughed, I cried, I need a shower. I had already read the part you posted last night twice. The kitchen scene was so beautiful! This was a perfect reunion - I love Willow articulating her fears and issues, both to herself and to Tara. Both of them sharing secrets is important to the rebuilding of their relationship. And make-up sex - woo hoo! I love that you took that somewhat slowly as well. In the midst of the reunion, you also gave us wonderful little touches of the other characters - moments between Buffy and Dawn, Anya and Xander, Anya and Tara, and Spike - "I'm helping!" - Lol. I am in awe. This epic will go on my hard drive so I can savor it again and again. Thank you, Sass.

Wow.... what a powerful reunion.
a little bit of everything in there. i'm glad that you are taking the time to let them go through all of these emotions.... and y'know, stuff... *blush* really, i had to make sure that the forces of gravity were still at work after that.

And, as a testament to how convincing your writing is,... in any case how it manages to stick in my imagination, this little bit:
as i was cycling off to work today i found myself smiling giddily up at the truckers i passed, instead of just making pretty darn sure not to collide with them (trucks big, me tiny). And it wasn't because it was a nice day for a ride, at 22 degrees with wind at 25 mph. ugh.
so, i guess what i'm trying to say is, good job, sass! ...and to put in my cry for more, lots more!

Well, now I'm hammering out all the little wrinkles in my plot (please excuse the mixed metaphor ... I'm a little tired having stayed up way too late last night on that update), so until I have all my ducks in a row, there won't be any more updates. That could mean sometime tonight, that could mean sometime next week - but no later than that.

**Pixie: You laughed? You cried? Was it better than cats? *G* And I'd like to say that I'm extremely flattered you're using harddrive space for this story - so, thank you.

**AutumnT: Oh, yeah, I know what you mean ... your reaction reading it is probably the same as mine writing it -- the Anya/Tara car stuff was fun, but it's not why I'm here *G*

**Puff: *rushes over to give mouth to mouth* Ummm ... I, uhh ... hope you, err ... enjoyed your shower.

**Owl: Eep! Yes, trucks big. You, not so big. Be careful, okay? But ... heh ... thanks for sharing that story - that's pretty damn funny, in a "nobody actually got hurt" kind of way.

And so, kittens, I'll get to work on the last few details I need to figure out, then maybe I'll actually finish this thing *G*

Sassette,
Ok, so I get to work, all smiles for the worker bees, and not ten minutes into my shift, one of my older employees (like 35 years older than me!!) walks up behind me and asks "Did someone get a happy?" Wackiness ensued.
(I love having cool older women work for me).

And I love this story. You did a good deed with your last update, bringing joy to the proletariat. I, and they, THANK YOU.

Just some comments on the comments ...

**nika: *rushes over and gives nika mouth to mouth* And no, 'shocked' only equals 'tingly' when forks and electrical outlets are involved. *goes back to more mouth to mouth* Never let it be said I don't take care of the kittens who THUD for my fic. *goes back to STILL more mouth to mouth*

**LeatherQueen: Well, wow yourself - I like leaving people speechless ... makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

**The Next Tara Maclay: Another wow? Wow. Love the name, btw.

**Bobo's Mom: So, uhh... how did you answer that question? *huge grin* Tell me more of this wackiness that ensued! That is, uhh... if you want to ... heh. Don't mean to get all bossy with you *G* And you're extremely welcome.

**Sheila: ANOTHER wow? Holy Schnikeys! And, ummm ... sorry about melting your brain. But, y'know - it had to be done. Heh.

**Mini-ALF: More 'wow' ... what's going on here? Are you all the same person posting under different names? *G* Sheesh! But, I'm really glad you're enjoying the fic.

Thanks again, Kittens ... and I'll be picking this fic up again as soon as I iron out how our girls get out of this one ... and so far, it's going pretty well.

Sass--

Reunited and it feels so good
Reunited 'cause we understood
There's one perfect fit
And, sugar, this one is it
We both are so excited 'cause we're reunited, hey, hey...

Sorry, I thought a little Peaches and Herb was in order. BUT, I'm still cautious about this great Mistress Sass because I just KNOW you have some treacherous things planned. Pulling the rug, uh-huh, I see it now. I feel it in my rickety bones...the sexy scene was just a diversion. Willow is still dying. She was crying black gunk for goodness sake. Tricky, tricky.

Even though I know you're gonna torture us, I will willingly submit myself to your painful ministrations because I am enamored with the story. Give me more!

Ok my muse is running rampid tonight. I was thinking and the thought occured to me that Mary Ellen had initially told Willow she had to be careful of everything she touched in the shower and etc cause of all the icky blackness, now, I may be jumping to conclusions here, but wouldn't lovemaking be a bad thing, or a good thing possibly, because of Willow's inner darkness leaking out, and couldn't it hurt Tara?

Hi Sassette. I hope you're still intending to post a really long update soon. I am so going through lack of update withdrawal symptoms and have resorted to writing bad poetry. looking forward to the next dose of angst and W&T goodness.

PS I hope its ok but I kinda mentioned you and this story in a poem I wrote called Ode to the fanfic writer!

FIC: Answering Darkness

Postby Sassette » Fri Mar 01, 2002 8:11 pm

Sorry ... not an update ... I'm still working on it, and the last few little plot holes in my backstory I need to fill in.

wiccachica: Put in your two cents as often as you'd like - and I am incredibly flattered (as well as impressed with your nimbleness) about the bowing and the rolling around on the floor. But I swear I'm not a diva - that's just a rumor *G*

Sela: Well, I wouldn't say the sexy scene was JUST a diversion ... but yes, Willow's still dying and leaking that 'ewww' stuff. Unless I can figure out a way for the Scoobies to foil The Trickster's brilliant plot, poor Willow ain't gonna' make it - which is why I'm taking a break from updates - >I< need to know exactly how they fix everything before I go on. I'm just at the point. And of course it's tricky! Hence, the name of the Bad Guy. As for torture? Likely.

W.I.: Good catch *G* Yes, it's true ... Willow has to be careful ... because leaking the stuff ON anything (including people) is Bad Bad Bad. Will Tara be affected? Yes and no. Will >Willow< ? Definitely yes. And that's all I'm going to say about that until you see the next part.

jomarch: Heh ... just saw your 'Ode to the Fanfic Writer' ... mind? Of course I don't mind! I'm extremely flattered to be included in the company of such excellent writers. There's a lot of great fic on this board right now (which I'm trying to not read, so I can concentrate on finishing this - but it's a losing battle), and it tickles me that I got a mention *G*

I'm sorry you're having the withdrawals ... if you need some 'Answering Darkness' angst, might I suggest rereading the part where Buffy almost kills Willow? And if you need the 'Answering Darkness' W/T goodness, the last page and a half of that last update and their phone call would be my personal choices. Well, okay, that's not completely true ... my choice would be re-reading Unexpected Consequences ... AGAIN. But *shrug* whatever you need to do to get through it *G*
