"Amber/Tara Box" as requested

Postby Quill » Thu Jan 10, 2002 6:16 pm

I believe someone requested a "Amber/Tara Box" to go with the "Aly/Willow Box" I shared with you wonderful Kitties a bit ago...so, here it is:

Outside of lid- www.hannigan.com/conclave/attachment.ph ... stid=27694

Inside of lid- www.hannigan.com/conclave/attachment.ph ... stid=27696

Inside of box- www.hannigan.com/conclave/attachment.ph ... stid=27697

Let me know what you all think!

yay yay yay yay...

very nice. i like it just as much... maybe more. there's much more to it. but the differences equal out the qualities i like between the two, they're both very likeable.

definitely looks like something willow would do. and you did a wonderful job doing so yourself!

edited to ask: where did you find the picture of amber on the top of the box where she is laughing so adorably?

Hee, now that I can think again...

That passage from Ruth is the one they used in the "Fried Green Tomatoes."

And the drawing, I think, is a Xena and Gabrielle rendering. The artist's signature looks really familiar.

And the Greek lettering around the edge.

Correct me if I'm wrong, of course. Those are just the things I can remember without taking notes.

Really beautiful work. Lovely.

Okay, I really loved this, most of all because my name appears on it. I love that bible story. And I really like your artwork here. Wonderful.

Thank you everyone for the great feedback..I'm glad you all liked it so much.
Boo: I don't remember where I got the pic from, I dug it out of one of my many jpeg discs.
BytrSuite: The original artist is Angelique and yes she doesn do Xena/Gabrielle renderings. However, this one is one of her origianls called 'Angel'. The lettering is actually from the Witches Alphabet and translates to 'endlesslove' in repetition around the box.
The bible passage is my favorite simply because it conveys the most basic compulsions found rooted in human devotion...Thank you all once again. You're wonderful!

I tried searching for the Aly/Willow box, and it didn't seem to come up with anything - I love this one, though. What was the idea behind the box? Is it something they were supposed to make for each other? Anyway, I'm impressed, yet again!

Thanks for the feedback Wolfie. The "Aly Box" should be on one The Pens board pages. I only posted it a few days ago. The boxes started one day when I was horribly bored, sitting home alone, looking through the catalogue from last years Out of the Box tour. I'd done only only mixed media work for that show, and it wasn't one of my boxes. I decided I wanted to make another box, after looking at a few that had gone on tour and BLAM! the Aly/Willow Box was born.

Someone commented that it seemed like something Tara would make...so I flew with that concept and upon request of a few Kitties around here 'Willow' was inspired to make a "Tara Box". The end...I love you guys, you're so rad!

To all you wonderful Kittens~

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my artwork. It really is extremely helpful for people like me who have little to no motivation to produce stuff like this anymore. You guys are my inspiration...*hugs and kisses*
