A Poem in Passing

Postby wiccachica » Fri Jan 11, 2002 1:09 pm

Hi, I hope I'm within rights to put a couple of W&T inspired poems past you all... hope you enjoy.

SATURDAY

In the early morning hours
I press my cheek against your side
Wrap my arms around your hips
I close my eyes
And break every rule we made
By not wanting you to go

If I tell you that it's cold out there
That it's raining, and that I love you,
Will you stay?

If I whisper that traffic's bad
Your car won't start, that I love you
And that your shoes are still damp
From last night's rain
Will you let me continue
To listen to your voice
Resonate beneath my ear

If I promise you the world is gone
And only we exist, and that I love you
On a day like this
Will you keep your hand
Right there between my shoulders
And say my name again beneath my ear
In such a way
That touches every part of me.

Ohne Namen

Ich liebe in so vielen Farben.
Ich traume in nur zwei.
In der Farbe Ihrer schonen Augen
und im licht das Sie umgibt.
Meine Liebe, meine Liebe,
Traume ich nur von der Freiheit,
Um Sie in den Aufweckenstunden zu beruhren.
Und lieben Sie in jeder Farbe.

*** I apologize for the lack of accentuals in the former poem...my computer is wonky!

Translation of Ohne Namen :

Without Name

I love in so many colours.
I dream in only two.
In the colour of your beautiful eyes,
And the light that surrounds you.
My love, my love, I dream only of the freedom
To touch you in the waking hours,
And love you in every colour.

Beautiful...I love the image it paints in my head and the warm fuzzy feeling it gave me.

------------------
"I'm a very self-centered poet...all of my poems are about 'I'. I can just picture it now, the title of my first book of poetry will be: 'An egocentric book of self-centered poems by someone arrogant enough to think someone would want to spend money on a book of poems about her selfish, boring existence'."
~"Josephine"

With one word: terrific.

The first one was so, so beautiful and the one in German was also great.

Gut gemacht.

First poem W&T inspired..the second...not so much....

The Beginning of Passion

Until the flesh meets
Before the lips burn
Poetry into my ear
Let it be spoken that
Let it be clear
That you are the onset
You are the harbinger
The bringer of passion
On the taste of a word,
On the moment of deliquent
Thoughts and whispers,
On the forbidden,
Starts with a kiss
And ends with
A shy touch
A word.

BARE

Inhibitions folding in upon themselves
No better mark than you,
Standing there,
Wrestling the shirt from smooth arms
And the line of your back,
To the flat of your middle,
Straight down to the spot,
Where it meets the mystery
Of belt loops and buttons.

Last night, modesty cried,
For it had lost you in the throws
Of torrid thoughts and actions
Best left to sailors on the sea
And the demand
Like the tantrums of red children
On bright, slick, strip-mall floors.

So I'll bring my heart and lay it here.
Bare and new, and waiting
For you to ruin it
Like all your other toys.
