Wildest Thing You've Done Friday, MKF! 1/24/03

Postby willowtarafan18 » Fri Jan 24, 2003 6:55 am

This is my first time adding a Thread for the day. I have just been finding myself being a more daring person these days. I've decided to meet someone I've met through this board in two weeks in a completely different state. Most of my friends think I'm kinda crazy for doing this but I'm mostly excited beyond the nervous part.
So this little adventure I'm about to embark on in two weeks got me thinking. What is the wildest thing you've done?
What's the wildest adventure do you think Willow and Tara embarked on?

Have a great day everyone!

I rather think I haven't done the wildest thing I've done. Um, if that makes sense. So far though, one of the wildest things I ever did included a phone call and my friend stuffing a fist into his mouth to stop himself laughing. It's really quite alarming what people desperate to be on television will believe these days... :)

I don't think I have done anything wild yet. Guess my life is just boring.....
No, just kidding. I am pretty sure I did some crazy stuff when I was younger but I can't remember.

Stef :p

P.S.: Good luck with your date in 2 weeks :whistle

Hmm..interesting topic.

The wildest thing I have done so far in my life would be sky diving. Never had a thrill since that was comparable. Not quite sure how to top that one.
Another wild and off the wall thing I did was drive from Pittsburgh, PA to Montreal, Canada to meet soemone I met online. I didn't tell anyone I was leaving, I just went. In retrospect it was stupid, but the adventure was pretty wild. I sum it up like this:
Car rental: $200.00
Speeding Ticket: $150.00
Backing into a fence and repairing damage to car rental without insurance: $350.00
Returning rental car and getting away with it all: Priceless.

Edited to add: willowtarafan18 Good luck on your meeting. I met my honey online in a yahoo chat room and we've been going strong now for just about 3 years. However, she's not the Montreal girl. I felt that trip was a big omen to not pursue that relationship. :lol

My wildest thing is the same as yours willowtarafan18. I met someone on another Buffy board nearly 3 years ago, & she's my best friend in the whole world. I went on holiday with her & her husband & her parents last year. We're as close as sisters, her mum calls me her other daughter.

Both our families & friends were a bit concerned before we met, coz of the elderly Dutchwoman thing, but we met at Euston Station in London for the day & had a great time.

Have fun :)

Sadly, I'm not too adventurous or wild. But I do some crzed things. Well at least others think they are crazed. My craziest would have to be spending $300 dollars on dog treats and toys at Petco one afternoon. Then the wicked 5 mile runs for me and the dog when the treats were all gone cause the dog was too fat! Its safe to say, I no longer enter Petco with more than a $20.
I haven't gotten that carried away with my kitty yet. Mostly cause she barely eats her food and prefers paper to mechanical mice.

Hmm...wildest thing I've done? Well...I tend to do a lot of off the wall things..but I think making love to my girlfriend at the time in the middle of a huge, packed, standing room only Ani Difranco concert is definitely at the top of my list. :shock

hmmmmmm, wildest thing I've ever done, was probably this year at a Band Tournament. I was dared to run over the where Lakanyada's band was sitting, and I had to steal their flag, and run across the field with it during the awards ceremony butt naked. that was so crazy, but it was hilarious.

I think of it as: one baby dyke, one weekend, two women, two countries; sometimes the nicest things happen when you throw the rulebook out the window! I even got to keep one of them.

The wildest thing Ive ever done was go to Stonewall 25 in NYC with $100.00 in my pocket, cross the border in a rented car with 3 people Id known for a week to stay with someone Id never met. Once there, for the next two days proceeded to violate every safety rule for travelling alone you could think of. Bar, woman, cab to another bar (somewhere), drink, cab to her place (somewhere), smoke, almost puke Im so nervous (got over that in a hurry) :blush , returned home with my indiscretion very visibly tattooed on my neck and then 8 hours later met my gf, and Ive been in her arms ever since. The um, tattoo faded, but the memory hasnt; that was one weekend Ill never forget.

Hmm, maybe I'll try to aim for something wild next time the opportunity presents itself. Worth a shot...

One of the wildest things I've ever done was probably drive from Buffalo to Syracuse in 1.5 hours in a Dodge Eclipse. This was accomplished by my brilliant idea of following a guy who was obviously stoned off his ass. He would switch between going 70 mph and 115 mph. Have you ever gone 110 mph in a tiny plastic car? I swear I felt the wheels lift off the ground at least a few times. Talk about flying. Luckily, neither of us got pulled over. To this day, my family has no idea how I showed up so early. :cool

Uh, yes. I have done 110 in a tiny plastic car. It was a good kind of scary. I was driving a Saturn SC2 (a little 2000 pound coupe with pop-up headlights and polymer body panels.) I noticed that if the air conditioning was running, the car wouldn't go over 100 MPH. So, just to see if it would make a difference, I replaced the stock spark plugs with Splitfires. A 110 mph ride down the 405 freeway indicated that that was just enough tweaking to solve the problem. But I have since gotten the triple-digit driving out of my system, having promised my gf that I will be good behind the wheel. However, I did once turn a deserted road into a slalom course. I had just had the wheels aligned, and I wanted to see how that affected the car's handling. So, I swerved through the Botts Dots for a few blocks, just to make sure that I was happy with the mechanic's work. Don't tell my gf.

I have always wanted to skydive, but after my cousin was killed in a skydiving accident, I had to promise my father that I would never take up the sport. I have been parasailing, which is fun, and not at all scary.

As far as being wild and crazy socially, I'm a boring, milk-and-cookies type. Except, I guess, for sleeping with GF on our first date. At least she called me the next day to let me know that she still respected me. :wink

At first I didn't think this would be a topic I could contribute to, my life is pretty boring. Then thought "oh yeah, what about that time...". But really most of those things were more stupid than wild.

When in the Army, many years ago when stationed in Colorado, they taught us mountain climbing. It was scary at first. I was from the midwest and had no experience on anything higher than a 4 foot ladder. After a while I started to like it. It taught me to concentrate ("focus on the rock!"). But then I started doing things like climbing my favorite rock at night. It was fun at the time. Actually I kind of miss it. Is that dumb or what? I haven't thought about that in years. The city lights looked so cool from up there. I wonder if my children will ever do anything like that? I don't think so; they are much smarter than me.

Wild, you say? I think it ranges from mind-numbing boredom to the excrutiating pain of hearing long nails scraped down a blackboard. While having your feet tickled with feathers :)

Ah no, see, you gotta respect the support of grassroots football. Real fans. Terraces. Proper pies. Supermarket shelf-stackers seeing off the prancing prima donnas of the Premiership.

Erm, can you tell it's FA Cup fourth round day? The magic of the cup has got me. Come on Farnborough Town! (Sorry Zoe, gotta go for the little guys!).

If wildest is akin to scandalous then I might have a funny story for you. I was attending Trinity College, not the one in Ireland but the one in Hartford Conneticut. I and my best friend were bored to tears one night at around 3 am or so when we thought it a good idea to go sledding using cafeteria trays. We got some trays off the loading dock of one of the dining halls and brought them back to our dorm which was adjacent to a moderate grade hill. Our sledding consisted of sitting on the trays for 2 seconds and then falling off and rolling the remaing 30 yards or so.

Not so wild you might say and so far I would concur. The 'wild' part was my suggestion to do it naked. My state of inebriation prevented me from seeing the many downsides of such tomfoolery. We then went back to our dorm and stripped down to nothing but footwear and had a go on the trays. This lasted for about two tries before we saw the err of our ways. When we gave up on naked tray sledding we headed back to our dorm. In the short distance from hill to dorm our luck ran out and were spotted by campus patrol. Fortunately my friend was quite speedy and was able to sprint to the front door of our dorm, punch in the access key and then hold the door for me. Once inside we ran into the 1st floor hallway and banged on our friend's door. This guy was totally stunned to see us standing in there without a fig leaf to be had at three in the morning. The look on his face is one of my favorite memories of dorm living.

This support for the little guys has nothing to do with the fact that Villa didn't make the fourth round.:)

My eyes! My eyes!

It's not Arsenal as such though, it's the connotation of the name. Bad girlfriend experience. Don't wanna talk about it. Distressing at best.

And I'm into football in that way that girls like me generally are. I watch the final scores and pretend to be interested. :)

Oh, and just for you... I want a big box of pens. And on the side I want it to say 'Pauline's Pens'. :)

Or instead of a pen box you could get a pen shop and it could be called 'Her Nibs' and it would sell every calligraphic item under the sun.

The wildest ever thing I've done, involved a second year physiology lab session at 4pm on a friday, 40% proof alcohol and an experiment on reaction times. I mean how were we suposed to know that we were meant to dilute the alcohol. The professor wasn't allowed to run that experiment again. :lol

lol. all this football talk and wildest things!

Afraid that the closest thing i got to being with the footie fans was this evening returning home from work to meet train loads of Farnborough and Arsenal fans going in the oppostie direction to me - cursed smallness that i am - struggled thtough them! I will not take sides in this... think i'll do what i normally do and say "go ya'll - it's not the winning that counts, unless you don't win, then err good game, good game!"

Wildest thing iv'e done? i think i am a not so wild person, generally placid and usually unconcious when not working. One thing that sticks in my mind was working in Edinburgh one year, end of the Edinburgh Festival, party on Princes street. I had prime location with my TV crew onthe roof of the Hard rock cafe... could see the crowd swelling below me, there was a band beside us (who totally rocked!) who would make the crowd do a mexican wave to my camera! woo hoo!
I got soo carried away that i put my camera down & i stage dived off the roof!

...err, okay, i didn't. But that would have been wild! :punch
