It's a Resolve Face Tuesday (New Year's Eve 12/31/02) MKF

Postby Rosenberg » Tue Dec 31, 2002 2:18 am

Well, it's that time of year again; time to change the calendar, start writing '03 on your checks instead of '02, and time to make resolutions for the upcoming year. How many kittens are into making New Year's resolutions and how many actually keep them? Would anyone like to share what their resolutions are for this year? Right now, I think I will resolve to be slow to anger, quick to forgive, and not let minor annoyances get blown out of proportion. As far as Willow and Tara are concerned, I think they should resolve to stay away from second story windows.

I will be more than happy to see the departure of 2002 and I will be eagerly anticipating the arrival of 2003. It can't happen soon enough for me.

Happy New Year to all the kittens, and may you celebrate safely!
Rosenberg

[/quote:d1ac68afd0] I think my first New Year's resolution will be not to write any cheques. ;)

In reality though, I don't tend to make resolutions, as they all tend to fall by the wayside within weeks. Although I do intend to make some changes this year and take some things forward, so I suppose you could call those resolutions at a pinch... :)

Anyway, 2002 was a hell of year, so much has happened that its actually easy to forget all thats been achieved. Onwards and upwards in 2003!

Happy Hogmanay to all! [img:d1ac68afd0]http://forums.mchost.com/images/smilies/party.gif[/img:d1ac68afd0]

My New Years resolution is to do some of those things that you never seem to have time to do. You know the ones... usually it's something that makes you really happy when you get to it. Like playing that guitar again that you've had stowed in the closet! Or maybe it's painting... something simple just to get the creative juices flowing again!

That's my resolution... :peace to all...

Happy New Year!!!

I'm somewhat ambivalent about the turn of the year. 2002 had both the bad and the good, and I don't suppose 2003 will be any different.

I don't post as often as I'd like - RL has to be lived, you know? I mean, the last couple of months alone has seen the deaths of immediate family members of 3 of my friends, plus serious debilitating illness for others. Over the holiday season, along with all the family madness we've been busy moving the personal effects of the recently deceased, before the end of the month rolls around.

It's not all doom and gloom. My wife, Jen, and I are happier than we've ever been, we have friends we can count on, and jobs that don't suck. This board is a haven for me, too. I really have no one locally who shares my love of W/T, but this board provides that and more. Kittens are such varied and cool people.

Other good news. My sister, who is a big fan of our two witches, just got a job as one of the three wine stewards at Charlie Trotter's Restaurant, in Chicago. Imagine, one of the top restaurants in America is paying her an outrageous sum of money to be professionally snobby to people.

For those who belive in resolutions, I hope you are able to fulfill them. For everyone,

Have a Happy and Safe New Year!
Dave V

Hmmm. I have one definite new year's resolution. Bust my butt writing short stories and try to get published while continuing to plug away at my big writing projects.

Heh. I'm starting to think a little anger management wouldn't hurt, either. :blush

I'm with you Pillows on giving up smoking but I know if I make it my new years resolution I will never keep it!

I think my resolution will be to get the house the way we want it......organise things more neatly! We moved here in June but there are still books on the floor as there are not enough shelves so sorting that out would be good! :)

I've never really made new year's resolutions before, maybe i should try this year. But I don't smoke cigarettes, so I can't give them up. I don't drink a lot of alcohol, so I can't resolve to drink less. I smoke a lot of pot, but I don't want to stop that. So I guess I have no resolutions. Maybe I could try eating less chocolate? But chocolate tastes so good! :) No resolutions for me then.

Happy New Year, everyone! Have a fun and safe celebration.:party

Well in a few minutes I'm off to Newcastle for the street party on the Quayside. :party

The Jack Daniels has been flowing freely since I left work and the lovely wristband to gain entry to this wonderful & free event is secured around my little wrist so I think I am all set. :bounce

So I would like to wish all kittens a very happy New Year. I hope it brings, what each and everyone of you are hoping for.

Not really into making resolutions, I can never be arsed to keep them. :smash

If any UK kittens see a small women in a dead black muppet coat making a tit of themselves on the celebration TV coverage in Newcastle, it will probably be me. :grin

Happy New Year, Kittens :) ! Here's hoping this year is even better than last one for everyone.

As for new year's resolutions I try to make them, but I find I rarely keep them :lol ! Although, this year I'm hoping to exercise more, as well as find more time to be with friends/family.

well, 40 minutes ago it turned into 2003 here...and yay, I'm so happy. Sorry for the sarcasm. It's just that my new year's eve was the most boring ever, I had to work all day and now it turns out that there are no people in my street lighting fireworks... Blegh. A new year's eve is supposed to have fireworks, right?

So, this year my new year's eve is not the best ever....next year I'm gonna party...have to, don't want a repeat of this year... now I'm drowning my sorrow in champagne:lol Just kidding.

Anyway, I wish you all a verry happy new year full of love, happiness, good health, peace, and a lot of snuggles with a significant other.

"A new year's eve is supposed to have fireworks, right?"

Unfortunately - yes. My dog got scared to death by it tonight, so there's no big party but dog-sitting for me. Well, fits to the - Alas! It's over! - year 2002, which won't make it into my personal top 10 list, to say the least. 'Though that's a good start for 2003: it can only get better. :)

Well, I'm feeling really old now, so allow me a sentimental moment ... what we sang when life was still fresh and everything seemed to be possible ... when "I will be with you again" meant days and not decades - and not a desperate cry to those we lost forever ... when it was the golden age - under a blood red sky:

All is quiet on New Year's Day
A world in white gets underway
I want to be with you
Be with you night and day
Nothing changes on New Year's Day
On New Year's Day

I will be with you again
I will be with you again

Under a blood red sky
A crowd has gathered in black and white
Arms entwined, the chosen few
The newspapers says, says
Say it's true it's true...
And we can break through
Though torn in two
We can be one

I...I will begin again
I...I will begin again

Oh...
Maybe the time is right
Oh...maybe tonight...

I will be with you again
I will be with you again

And so we're told this is the golden age
And gold is the reason for the wars we wage
Though I want to be with you
Be with you night and day
Nothing changes
On New Year's Day
On New Year's Day

Happy New Year to all you Kittens, you've not even begun yet to know how great you are - every single one of you.

It feels like forever since I last posted. I just really wanted to wish everyone here a very safe and
:bounce Happy Holiday:bounce . I for one cant wait to give 2002 a swift kick in the ass outta here:wave .

May all the aches and pains physical or emotional lessen considerably or go away completely. May we all be blessed with a companion if we dont already have one to make life a little less lonely and a hellava lot more :thud interesting:wink . All in all may we find what we search for. Whether it's love, happiness, compassion, acceptance, heres hoping we all find what we need. Im hoping to look at 2003 as a brand new start with a brighter future.

Regardless of all the bullshit life tends to throw at you:sigh Im leaving 2002 with a big cheesy smile:grin and greeting 2003 with a drink in one hand and if Im lucky a breast:eyebrow in the other;) .
:no (Not my own):pray
Did I mention Im also taking my :devil wicked:evil sense of humor with me and keeping it?!:blush

So I bid you all a very :party Happy New Year:party .
This board, its creators and members mean more to me than youll ever know. So :love Thank You:love .

And my other resolution to drink less went out the window last night. So um...perhaps I shouldn't make promises I can't keep. Heh.
