Ok, to celebrate the "Bad Wardrobe" portion of our lovely home I was weeding through my closet.

Here are some of the things I found...
- One of my dad's old cop uniform shirts.
- A Star Trek uniform. Complete with comunicator pin, tricorder and phaser.
- A "Members Only" jacket from the 80's
- a pair of motorcycle boots. I have not been on a bike in years.
- couple of whips and a riding crop.
- A really thin tie that I have not worn since the 80's, or when I was really thin.

So these things are more mysterious than bad.

A huge stuffed Dolphin my best freind got me when I graduated college
An awful brown blazer that I have never worn
My bridesmaid gown from my best friends wedding several years ago(what do you do with those dresses after the wedding??? )
A Lollapolooza t-shirt when Alice in Chains toured
And sadly, my Class of '92 t-shirt when I graduated high school. I'm just not thinking that will ever fit again in my lifetime.

I found this posted on a site I go to and it made me laugh.

According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year. Males drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to December. Females retain their antlers till after they give birth in the spring. Therefore, according to EVERY historical rendition depicting Santas reindeer, EVERY single one of them, from Rudolf to Blitzen, had to be a girl. We shouldve known. ONLY women would be able to drag a fat man in a red velvet suit all around the world in one night and not get lost.

My closet is full of shoes and clothes and 2 wetsuits, damn the water is cold here compared to the UK. Um embarrasing clothes? I have a Spice Girls T-shirt that I got at their concert

i have so much crap in my closet it's not even funny. impulse spending is bad, especially when you're buying bad fashion fads. scary things i found:

- phat pants from my kandy kid raving days
- 2 flannel shirts (*cringes*)
- a fringe belt
- pink babydoll t-shirt with a bunny on the front :/
- a platform shoe with glowing strings... can't find the other one
- a hideous paisley dress

i also found:
- my grandfather's shirt from the airforce
- my old bleyer swing dancing shoes!

and some other fun stuff that i'd rather not post

there's more but i don't feel like rummaging through all the bags and boxes.

*a poodle skirt with a raised yarn poodle on it

*3" shiny gray heels I've never worn

*a multi-colored muu-muu type garment

Okay, so here's a few things from mine...

* A total of 11 Aston Villa shirts

* Black leather footwear I affectionately refer to as my Faith boots

* My prized England shirt with Vassell and the number 21 emblazoned on the back

* Two lightsabres - one standard Luke Skywalker one, one double Darth Maul one

* A two man tent

* A huge teddy my dad won for me at the fair when I was two, which is a prized possession - way more than the photos of me taken with it at the time, which show me naked but for a huge pair of 70s style headphones.

I threw out all of my 'crimes against fashion' clothes when I moved during the summer. It's amazing what you think is cool when your a student.

A load of old roleplaying stuff gathering dust for years, my coursebooks for my professional exams - also gathering dust - lots of books I should read but really aren't as much fun as the ones I like to.

Well let me see, what's in my closet...
about 18 pairs of Air Jordans in their original boxes, several hockey jerseys, a bunch of hats, lots of dust bunnies and a boat load of dog hair. Hey I'm moving and I think I sold my vaccum at the last yard sale.
Almost forgot, two special suprises for my girl, christmas is coming ya know and cause hello sucking up cause of the dog hair.

But in the getting rid of the wardrobe I found some really strange things, including:

My old camogie (strange Irish sport where girls bash a ball (and each other) around a field) shirt I had from when I was 11 or something.

The closet in my dining room/office used to contain a Murphy bed. Now, it contains a filing cabinet filled with sheet music, a couple of guitars, a set of bongo drums, and a whole slew of classical LPs that I never listen to anymore.

The bedroom closet has a few quirky items:

-a 60s-era band uniform from my high school (bought for the whimsy factor.)
-steel-toed shoes, for when I work on my cars
-lots of formal black clothing (the classical musician's uniform)
-a wolf mask
-a USS Midway baseball cap
-an air rifle
-wispy clumps of Himalayan fur
-dressy/authority clothes that I rarely have to wear

literally, in my closet i have hidden christmas presents. i know that sounds like a stupid place to hide things, but i'm in a dorm, a single, so noone but me is gonna be going through my closet really.
anyway,
according to everybody i know my whole wardrobe is bad. they say "well I dress like your quintessential earthy appalachian trail hiking lesbian, she's a prep, and YOU mouse, well you dress like you"
i own more than one orange shirt? apparently its the ugliest thing ever. i like it.....its a bright orange tshirt, with navy horizontal stripes.....
shirts that are two big for a 6'3" 230pound male to fit into, that i wear.
dark blue jeans with a neon yellow stripe down the side.

i donno, i just dont beleive in things really needing to match. my motto actually is that socks dont need to match at all, ever, but i always wear sandals, and also socks, so you can always see them. like sometimes i wear my hot pink socks with like hunter green pants and, i donno, that orange shirt?

A leather vest that just doesn't fit me and I can't bring myself to toss.
A pair of great 'Faith' boots that I actually wear to ride my motorcycle (which is garaged for the winter {wimper})
A tee-shirt from when I was thirteen or so that has a picture of my childhood dog on it. I will never be able to toss that shirt.
Many pairs of pants that are either too big or too small and which warring optimism and realism force me to keep.

What I do know is in there are lots of clothes which are too small for my ever expanding girth, but which I refuse to throw out because, you know, once I've got my diet and weight under control, I'll be able to wear them again!

There's an Ice axe I did'nt know I had, it's not mine,
a Red Cross pullover dated 1942, that my Dad picked up in Nova Scotia during WW2 [He'd just been torpedoed],
assorted wetsuits and surf T's
and a mask that I picked up from the Halloween Parade in San Francisco this year.

Everything else is disturbingly normal

Sorry to interrupt the festivities, but there is sad news from my family today. This afternoon my mother called to tell me that my grandfather has passed away.

Actually, I really don't feel like it's that sad or tragic an event. He died quietly in his sleep at the age of 90, which as far as deaths go is one of the better ways you could ask for. Plus he had just seen most of his family when we gathered for his birthday over the summer. Still, he was the last grandparent I had living, and I'll miss him.

which closet? i have three. and that's in a one-room studio apartment! in one there are about 30 pairs of shoes and all my pants, a pair of ice skates, some toilet paper. another one has my hamper, coats, a vacuum cleaner. then my big closet has tools, folded clothes, linens, a pot plant, and a yoga mat.
