Imperfectly Me... Oh my lordy....i almost fell off my chair... that was hysterical

Well, memorable firsts for me:

- The first time I saw "The English Patient". It changed my freakin' life. It just dawned on me "I want to be a screenwriter and i want to write the words that an actress like Juliette Binoche will say. I want my words in her mouth."

- The first poetry reading I ever read at. There's just something about that sigh an audience makes after you've read a really good poem that they love, that I'm addicted to.

- The first time I heard John Lennon sing "Julia". As soon as he sang that name, MY name, I burst into tears.

- The first summer i spent with my current girlfriend. It was just one of those incredible times when we spent every minute together getting to know each other and falling in love. Every summer that rolls around after that brings back all those beautiful memories and makes me smile

Ahh Firsts what a great thread!
I guess for me my first Kiss made me grin from ear to ear (he was a boy tho!) and made me feel like bragging to all my mates. But the first kiss with my Girl was a thousand times more exciting, felt like electricity running thro my veins and brain ceased to function properly I just stared at her in awe for quite some time. Then of course the first afternoon we spent, holding hands, gazing at the clouds and reading books together in the sun outside Exeter Catherdral *sigh*, and obivously the first time we slept together, and the first time of being in Love and someone loving me back for a change! Ok lets face it I'm head over heels! Love is great!

Oh I forgot to add the First time I saw Pulp,I was so excitied I couldn't eat anything all day and I nearly died during common people with all the fireworks! Thank goodness my mate was there to drag me back to the coach!

OK. My first day at my current job had to be the worst first ever! I was so scared I felt sick for about a week.

The job is so different to anything I have done before, they knew I hadn't done stuff like this before so I needed lots of training but I was still so scared!

It's all fine now and I have been there four years so something worked out well

The first weekend I spent with my gf. She has a house in the mountains, and it needs a lot of work. I knew that her top priority was putting a new roof on the house, so I offered to help her, even though I don't like heights.

So, there we were on top of the roof , with a view of the sun setting on the Santa Ana mountains, and we just started slow-dancing together three stories off the ground.

Needless to say, I forgot about my acrophobia.

hmmmm. it's not friday anymore, and this is a "daily thread"...so is it still ok to post? I usually stick to pens, but something made me feel more chatty and less read-y tonight. maybe it was my mom saying that willow has a cute mouth, kinda freaked me out a tad from the vixen-y stuff.

so many firsts! the first time I drove a car without a parent with me (ninth grade-- not exactly legal!) it was may, the sun was shining down its glory, my mom was asleep...and the wild highway called. ok, actually I only went to the record store and back, and I bought a tori amos single (crucify). it felt so good, I knew driving a car would never feel that good again. and it didn't! although driving across the country, from atlantic to pacific, was a close second...

the first time I kissed a girl, the summer I was 16...we were in my dad's basement on the pull-out bed, and it was so dark I accidentally kissed her nose the first time(!) I was so frickin' embarrased. but I caught on eventually

the first time I formal-danced with a girl and got to lead...

the first time I got a tattoo...

when I saw my sister being born...this is actually three firsts: first glimpse of my ruby, first attendance of a birth, and first time, um, cutting an umbilical cord. after that I cottoned on and cut my own from my mom (I was 19-- she wasn't happy!)

As for me, I think--I THINK--I can still remember my first ever piece of cake. I have a photo of me at 1, face covered with chocolate, and I am looking at the camera, frozen, with a look of having been caught....

My girlfriend tells me I still have that look on my face whenever I am caught doing something I shouldn't. I think it's because for me, every piece of cake is that first piece: forbidden, heavenly, perfect...and mine.

ok, just merrily catching up with all these firsts, but the last remark with the old whip cracking just made me spit my drink out! now patting down my keyboard....... oh which I guess reminds me of the first time I told someone of my less than choosy sexual preferences (in terms of being bi but I guess positioning could also be substiuted there, anyway..) they also spat their drink out. pretty much over me. which was nice.
