Congratulations [b:6e5ee2f0dd] Yelowsub[/b:6e5ee2f0dd], even though I don't really understand :D

[b:6e5ee2f0dd] PandoraSpocks:[/b:6e5ee2f0dd] I stood (have stood? Whatever, you know what I mean.) in line for 2.5 hours for an autograph session with Patrick Stewart once and didn't get one.

[b:6e5ee2f0dd] Elianna:[/b:6e5ee2f0dd] I just saw a TV show for kids ("Die Sendung mit der Maus") explaining the elections. It's a great show, I always stay tuned if I happen to zap in as they always explain something I don't know either and I bet there now are thousands of kids out there knowing more about our voting system than their parents. And apparently it's really hand-counting except for a few districts introducing voting computers this time. However, our voting districts are relatively small, so that's probably why it still can be done pretty fast.

Well the weekends almost over here which means only one more weeks before I have two weeks holidays (well technically one week because I'll be working at a Childrens Vacational Care centre for a week...dear God children...everywhere!). Also it's only three days till BTVS is back on over there and it'll be known whether the show is a complete write off or not! Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!
Congrats to yellowsub, I know nothing about music/instruments/etc but winning is winning and that's always great :)

ok, this is part of the weekend thread, but is OT, but it belongs to the weekend...

I dedicatedly (obsessively) read many comics/newspaper funnies and I found an oh-so-appropriate one for those of us who "love" **cough cough** the writing crew for ME... the comic [b:24ad0fc07e] non sequitur [/b:24ad0fc07e] for today is just IMHO a very good & truthful laugh...

Here is the link for it, non sequitur but unless someone is willing to host the comic, it will only work for about 10 days... (if so, I will edit this post)

I hope that you find it as funny/true as I do...

Happy Birthday for yesterday, Bob!

I wasn't around yesterday because I was ensconsed in going out and getting [b:00ec1be1bd] entirely[/b:00ec1be1bd] too drunk. Although the routine dancing came in handy to impress the ladies though, heh. Which is why I got gay men surrounding me instead. Bah. ;)

So, here I am, with another Sunday hangover (it's becoming a habit), a sore neck and a distinct lack of sleepage hours. I'm going to stick some Season 4 on the computer, get into bed and nap for the rest of the day, I think. Well, isn't that what Sundays were invented for?

I can't even remember what the question at the start of this thread was, because I killed so many brain cells last night that my short term memory is shot to hell and back. In a freakin' handbag. ;)

Um, elections. Voting. Something or other about....

Nah. Lost it. Sorry.

Yes, happy belated birthday to Bob. :D Hope you had a lovely one.

I wasn't around yesterday either. After lunch with my grandparents, during which we broke the news to them that Jerri and I are moving across the country to North Carolina next year, we decided to pack up some snacks, grab our dog, and drive up to the mountains to Julian. Home of California's best apple pie. A piece of which I am eating at this very moment. It is the second best thing I have ever put in my mouth. ;)

Pie. :love

Happy bithday, Bob!

Clearly that was the reason why I drank copious amounts of alcohol last night. Subconsciously, of course. Nothing to do with being a lush :)

Still, my hangover has been slightly eased by the joy of an Aston Villa victory over Everton. We won 3-2, the clinching goal coming with just five minutes to go.

Wheeee!

well Kittens it is that time again and I am off for a Bronco game. :)

Remember, I'm the one in the Bronco shirt. ;)

Holding a beer. That ought to narrow it down.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! :party

I didn't really do anything that special for my birthday. I'd gone to Universal CityWalk last weekend with some C&S old-timers, so that was my celebration. One thing that did happen yesterday, though. My parents called me on the phone and in the course of our conversation I told them there was no way I'd ever go back to engineering - and they bought it! Okay, you might not expect that a 38-year-old would still be arguing with his parents about what he was going to do with his life, but if you knew what I've been through during my adult life, you'd know this was a big moment. The best birthday present they've given me in quite a while. :grin

Hey justastraightdog, what about this one: [img:9b7e17bc95]http://atypically.net/smilies/sunflower.gif[/img:9b7e17bc95]

Boy, it's really close. 303 out of 604 for SPD/Greens at the moment.

It was hand-counting and we were finished at 6.45 pm. Just 665 votes to count. And how anyone can vote SPD [b:9b7e17bc95] and[/b:9b7e17bc95] Schill is beyond me :confused

So, I'm glad for the Greens, but still nervous about the overall results :rolleyes

Edited because Lindy didn't like the praying and I'm an atheist anyway :wink

Ahhh, no praying! Praying and politics don't mix.

Well, I am glad about the result so far, although, well, argh, damn Dubler-Gmelin. Some things should not be said!! Just thought ;)

And, bummer, PDS is out, that's not to my liking. Tisk.

Hmm, I actually believe Dubler-Gmelin and she has several witnesses, but the damage was done nevertheless.

Sorry for the PDS, but I wouldn't have wanted a Big Coalition, too. So, mixed feelings about this.

Well, it's getting closer and closer... I only hope that we don't have a Florida somewhere around here and get the final results as usual around 3-4am.

Kukalaka, you watched Die Maus? Now, can you tell us about [i:92aac46f14] berhangsmandate[/i:92aac46f14]? ;) (and where is my Little Blue Elephant when I need it? - uh, there it is... no, wait, that's a white one... guess I'm in trouble now)

Lindi, sorry for not being sorry about the PDS. Born and raised in Niedersachsen and changed from a left-of-the-left-wing Fundi into a Realo over the years, I have some crusted prejudices. But nothing personal - I'd just like to have at least half of the PDS votes for my own party. Especially in MeckPomm. :(

Happy belated birthday Bob, I hope you had a good day. And I hope the kittens in Birmingham are having great fun. My head is slowly stopping it's spinning which is good as I finally go back to college tomorrow nice and early. Oh and the 49ner's are winning...so far :)

I just would have liked them in the parliament. I'd call myself socialist but the PDS has some major flaws, so I am not that fond about them myself, but, you know, yeah, I am rambling, I will stop now :grin

The Wahlomat told me what to vote and so I did ;)

And :lol Angie, you edited your post, hehe.

While not even considering to vote for them, I'll still miss the PDS. I just think it's good to have opposition left and right of the government.

That Wahlomat seems to have been a big hit with everybody :lol

Anyway, I'm pretty optimistic by now: 304 out of 601 at the moment :grin

It certainly would serve Stoiber right. Declaring himself winner so early when it's this close :p

Well, that elephant brought his family and friends, so don't expect a coherent answer from me...

Wahlomat? No, we don't use these kind of things over here (could be Made in Bavaria - dangerous!). But for the hard working voters, there was a room with some Orgasmotrons in it - much more fun, if you ask me.

Oops, now I'm out as a fan of Woody's early movies. :blush

I'm showing my age here, but at the last German elections I was sitting in a tiny room at the Hotel an der Oper in Berlin, watching the count on the BBC. It was good to see die Grunen do so well; has their vote gone up or down this year?
Doesn't feel like four years ago...

They are up. They got around 2% more of the votes this time. And I agree, it's always good to see a Green party with good results within the mix.

Belated Happy Birthday wishes Bob!

And, just in case anyone was wondering --

Broncos 28, Bills 23

And Blue Crush? Yes. Yes, indeed. Now if those receivers could just stop dropping some of those passes. Nevertheless...

Broncos are now 3-0

...and not a single one of them was a fluke. So there!

Hurry home Autumn and tell us all about it.

Oh, and Juli, if you can "hear" me...this sig's especially for you --

Gee that's my favorite Riley quote. Wonder why.

Beautiful day for football and it may have been a bit of an ugly win, but a win it was. Portis really came into his own with Gary out with an ankle injury and Lelie is soon going to be a force. He barely missed making a few amazing catches. The D had its toughest game of the season, but Bledsoe is a hell of a back and any game where big Chester runs in a TD for the defense, well, it's a good game. Rumblin Stumblin Bumblin to 7 points.

For the first time since Elway retired we have now won 3 games in a row. Woo. and a side of hoo.

Woo-hoo:

306 out of 603 :grin

And 62.7% of the people of Zurich voted in favor of a same-sex-partnership.
