Xita, sometimes I have a problem loading the buttons. But it happens randomly, and not very often; maybe 2-3 times a month. I never said anything 'cause I just assumed it was my wacky computer.

Also, someone said something about not being logged in, even though you left yourself logged in last time? That's been happening to me lately. I stay logged in to this board both at home and at work, and usually when I click on the bookmark it logs me in automatically, but over the past few days I've had to do it manually every time I visit. Don't know if it's just me or an EZboard problem.

[b:4455e7b3f6] Pipsqueak[/b:4455e7b3f6], I had that same problem earlier this week.

A coupla times I didn't realise I wasn't logged in until I went to post something.

Seems to be okay for me now, though.

Is it my system or are the pages not loading correctly.

Seems like it takes forever to load. I've rebooted but it is still very slow. Any idea what's the what?

I seem to have a lot of trouble lately downloading/accessing threads on this board. Is it just me or is anyone else having a problem??

Everything's OK from my end.

Browser problem? System resources? Dial-up or high-speed?

I just have regular dial-up service--not DSL.

As you can see above, I'm not the only one with this problem.

Help, anyone?

It seems the webserver at [b:e55d7b6497] users.adelphia.net[/b:e55d7b6497] is slow on actually processing requests. Connects are fast enough but it takes between 89.3 and 123.1 seconds for a simple 'GET /' request to return any results. Normal response would be less then 5 seconds, and even that would be slow.

Yes, I *did* measure it...several times actually :) . Checked it from several sites/countries even, same results.

For those we want to check for themselves: run command 'telnet users.adelphia.net 80' window will be black not showing anything. Type 'GET /' without quotes followed by ENTER-key. Sit back and wait...Once the result has return the connection will be closed automaticly, you can close the window then.

I got those timers another way, but thats less easy to do.
("time telnet users.adelphia.net 80", manually type "GET /")

Seems that server is running more clients then it can actually feed.

Reason why not everybody has a problem with it is likely due to settings of your browser cache. Thats a guess though.

I still disagree, I have cable and I just dumped my cache, deleted all files and power reloaded and guess what.. nothing. It loaded up fast.

*edited to add yes la I heard there were problems yesterday , but i wasn't here so I didn't see them.

Just wondering if anyone has a pic of Diane, or the Benson family in general. I've heard so much about the little entourage that comes along to each event with her, and I have no idea what they look like!

Thanks muchly :D

Silly Question Alert!

Okay, so I was looking at people's profiles today (bored and nosey, bad combination) and some people have as their background an absolutely STUNNING wallpaper of the Entropy kiss, tinted a very light blue. I was just wondering where that came from; if a Kitten made it, or if it was downloaded from somewhere else. (BTW, I stole it and placed it on my desktop at work!) It's just really really beautiful and I wanted to thank the person who made it.

Pipsqueak I'm pretty sure xita made that profile background picture. Heh, then she let a bunch of people use it and made a different one for herself. And possibly Brian.

Yes indeed, I made the one that some people are using in light blue. I also made one for myself and the mods at the time. If you want to use the light blue one, I can show you how to use it in your profile, just email me, it's really simple. If you want to make your own, go there

Hey, just a general question about season 7 and the board..and if this has already been answered its cool...I was just wondering if maybe there could be a thread here for those lurkers or people who arent allowed yet into the season 7 board and have decided to remain buffy viewers...to discuss the eps. I realize I have been a lurker since season 5, but I didnt realize how much I look forward to post-episode kitten discussion...just a suggestion for those of us who still havent reached the post requiste and are still watching and would like to discuss.

no, that was the whole point of the private board. That all discussion would take place outside of the public eye. Many lurkers are in the private board. They wrote me and respected the rules we set forth and were approved. Others began participating in other aspects of the community and got their post count fairly quickly.

That's one of the big reasons why I finally delurked and registered after a year of just reading and silently agreeing with most stuff. Posting is normally very hard for me because I'm pretty shy (and not a native English speaker). And often someone else has already responded with everything I had to say, anyway.
The post-episode discussions on the board were very important to me since it's always a year before I can watch them on TV or have to buy them. Or not, as the case may be, because I haven't watched any episode without Tara (or mention of Tara, at least) in it. Just not interested.

But I still liked to read the kittens' take on it because it always was from a W/T perspective. Here they discussed exactly (and in detail :wink ) what was -and is- important to me: the episodes in general, but with the main emphasis on Willow and Tara. I never participated because I hadn't seen them yet but just reading the kittens' commentaries was enough to know what was going on, what was ridiculous, what was cute and what was :thud worthy.

I can get episode summaries and discussions everywhere on the net and I tried to use them for the S7 episodes but they don't get what is important to me or maybe I should better say it's just not important to them. The best I saw was a short notice that nobody mentioned Tara [b:4943fdf87d] and that was it[/b:4943fdf87d]. Not how unrealistic that really is, just that that's a bit strange. :mad
And that's just something I'm not willing to waste my time on.

So I guess my question to xita (yes I had one) is who is considered a lurker who can read the private board?
As I've said I've been lurking for a year now but since I didn't register I don't have proof :(
Well I found an old file I had saved from the Novogate board dated September 2001. Does that count? :lol

I don't think we can answer that question without raising more. The guidelines are there to give us some room to not let everyone in blindly, they are there to give us some time to look at people first. We want that forum to be a safe place for people who truly care about WT and this board, and many of them are lurkers and have gotten in after only 2 posts or so. If you or anyone wants to be able to view the forum, then you have to post in the season 7 thread to indicate that you want to and that you understand and accept the guidelines. We are looking at everyone and we do review older requests when people have started to post more or have emailed and we have a better idea of how important this is to them and that they indeed do care about WT and the Kitten.
