Maybe someone could help me? I could swear when I was reading up on the Trevor Project I read something about them sending information to schools/organizations around the country (stating how many cities have recieved info?) Well, for the life of me I can't find that information again. I even printed it off so my partner could read up on it before I committed some of our money to it. let me say we already decided to and have participated in this fundraiser so I am not needing to be convinced that it is a great cause. (A BIG THANKS to you wonderful people who started this fundraiser!) What I am trying to find out is where I read that stuff. I thought it was from the link I took from this board. The reason I am wanting to know is because I wanted to do a little research and try to find out if any of this info is available here in Little Rock AR. I highly doubt it is in any of our schools (buckle of the bible belt and all) but I am aware of some organizations locally that might be interested in this.

Thanks ahead of time for any help you nice kittens can give me.

All I could find was general info on the packages and info on how to acquire one . Dont know if that helps.

Maybe that info would also be in the packet that WebWarlock received.

Scout - thank you very much! The 'Packages' link is where I read that before. How I missed it the second go around I don't know. Of course I do the same thing around the house I look for something then my partner comes along and pulls it out of the same drawer I just looked through, twice. Maybe I should stop searching the web late at night when I am half dead.

I appreciate the info on actually obtaining one too. It could be helpful should the place here not have one.

Thanks for that link, relativegirl. That was an interesting little movie. I really don't get why they list it under comedy though, unless they mean more of a darker comedy. It makes you think, and I think that is what the creators wanted it to do. The kid in it is really pretty good. And it does have great music.

Yeah the packet of information I got was the video, a curriculum guide and the list of statistics. Oh, and a nice letter form Jorge Valencia.

Most of the good information is on their website. In fact their website is going to get a major facelift and we are invited to the press conference when they annouce it.

I believe they are still working on the dates themselves, but I do know they want it for mid to late September. So right before the Buffy season starts.

And with numbers like we have now, this is going to be a big deal for them.

In honor of Autumn's great idea to spread the word to other sites might I suggest anyone who frequents other pro-Tara/Williow or GLT pro sites/message boards spreads the word about what the kittens are doing.

I know this is going to be coming from all of us as Kittens but I would think the more we can raise the better.

I'll mention it in a couple of the other places I frequent.

So far we've raised 1.74% of the amount they raised for the entire year 2000. And we are going to raise more. What we are doing is going to make a big difference to this organization.

I don't think they specifically say trans youth, but in my talks with Jorge Valencia, I am certain the the Trevor Project would be the place for an troubled youth to go.

He mentioned that they get almost as many calls from friends and family of GLBQ teens as they do from the teens themselves. If they had an overidding goal (my POV) it would be to help any teen.

Granted while they are most interested in the GLBQ teens, their study guide for schools does mention sexual orientation and sexual identity. So that would seem to apply to trans youth as well.
