) but there's Aly stuff in Total Film magazine, just picked it up tonight.It's a short interview with the cast of AP2, just the usual promo photos and not a very inetersting or insightful interview but here's Aly's bits...
TF: actors always vow that they'll never do a sequel...what gives?
Aly: I definitely had the attitude that a sequel wasn't possible and I couldn't see how my character could be in it. Then I read the script and thought ahhhh....that's so sweet. So here I am.
TF: It's so strange to see high school life in American movies because it's so different from school in the UK. Here you have to wear school uniforms and we leave at 16 so we can't drive...
Aly: Wow, you guys are crazy.
TF: ...but from Buffy to She's All That to AP, it's always the same cliques, the same cars, the same clothes. Were your schools like that?
Aly: films have become more realistic. AP is more like a real high school than Grease. I wasn't very excited by high school though. I was like "Okay, when are we done with this crap?"
TF: Is it always fun to shoot funny scenes?
Aly: Yeah, it can almost become so funny so you can't get through the scene. I would say that if a funny film is not funny when you're making it, then it's not going to be funny. There was one assistant director on set who'd always be saying "Come on everyone, let's be serious". Er, no....let's not. This is a comedy.
TF: All sorts of people try to give you dumb , misleading or contradictory advice when you're a teenager. What thing do you remember?
Aly: My friends were actually pretty good. If they didn't know something, they didn't try to advise me on it.
TF: When people recognise you on the street, do they think you're going to be your character?
Aly: I think more people think I'll be like Willow from Buffy, so they're shocked to find out that I'm different.
TF: Do you think that there'll be an AP3?
Aly: I don't think there will be, but then again, who knew there'd be a second one? How much more trouble can Jim get into before he gets arrested? You've got to leave him with at least some dignity.
And then there's this weird thing where they ask the cast if they know what certain sexual kinks are...
