Dealing with power has always been Willow's lifelong issue. She's just finally starting to deal with it. Buffy has always had power issues, too. She has innate power, but had to acquire a taste for it. She spent the first few seasons desperately seeking a normal life, claiming that deep down she didn't want her Slayer strength. Then the last couple of seasons she realized that there is a dark, hungry part of her that loves and craves her power. But that realization and her duties, the "weight of the world," ultimately destroyed her. She died to save the world, but she WANTED to jump. Death was a gift to HER. Willow, on the other hand, acquired a taste for power she didn't have, then had to create power to fulfill her desires. "The Gift" was really the ultimate eppy for their arcs, because they both got exactly what they wanted. Buffy freed herself of her Slayer duties by sacrificing herself. Willow took the last step forward and took over, however briefly, Buffy's role as lead Scoob. Season 6 is the fallout of these arcs and a perverse new beginning. Now Buffy has been forced back into duty and Willow has been forced to give up (for now) her magick. Joss is a sick, sick man.

Anyway, that's my very longwinded (how typical!) way of saying that Marti's statement about Willow's power issues just points out the obvious: it will always be a problem for her, just as it has been in the past. But now she has to deal with it as a responsible adult, instead of as an impulsive child. Doesn't growing up suck?

Oh, and, I'm sure there will be another angsty episode dealing with Willow's magick issues. I'm sure that her "problem" will always be hovering about, threatening to pop up in storylines, even when it doesn't. Instant drama! Just add water.

Hmmm I am looking forward to this episode even more so now, heh and not just because it means we will have gotten to see episode 14 and will be one episode closer to ep 16.

Ooh, Riley looks all cute and angsty and leather-clad in that pic. I've really missed him. Wish he could be back for more than one ep.

The AngelX spoiler is great and I love to see Willow giddy but, is it just me, I don't want it to be easy for Willow to get Tara back. I think for some one as shy and insecure as Tara to leave would have taken a lot of courage so i therefore believe she deserves a lot of grovelling from Willow before she goes back.

Bob could be right though, one big ansty moment when they both will realise they need to be together.

Encouraging news. Just what I need to hear right now. Not that, you know, rebuilding a relationship is anything *I* have any interest in. Heh heh. Oh the laugh of irony escapes me...

I love it when our girls take it slow, it allows for so much more passion and heartfelt feeling than if they just hopped right on back to bed with one another. And Willow needs to be cautious, I somehow get the feeling that Tara won't be messed with a second time...

And Riley! Oooh! Somebody will be pleased...

I'm curious about something. Marti Noxon mentioned that Amber Benson is signed on for sixteen out of the twenty-two episodes this season, like last season. However, AB was in eighteen episodes last season. Does this mean that she can be in more episodes than she signed on for this season?

Yes it does, although Marti did say she would miss six episodes this year.
