I never thought I'd say this but I am so looking forward to Riley coming back (for one episode) this looks like a very interesting ep, even though there's no Tara in it.

Thanks for posting this Xita, and AngelX of course.
Ep 15 is sounding more interesting every time, I am curious to see Sam and Willow bonding, I wonder if the reassurance she will give involves Willow's relationship with Tara.

Cool,
I'll admit it, I always liked Riley and felt he got a bum wrap from everyone.

Does anyone know who is playing Sam?

I just read this at The Spoiler Slayer (Still new to the board. Apologies if I have done this wrong)
AngelX answered the following questions

Do you know who plays Rileys wife?
Nope...I don't know who the actress is, just that she's supposed to be a raven-haired beauty.

Can you describe the atmosphere of this ep?
The atmosphere of the ep is mostly light/humor, with a good dose of suspense/drama mixed in.

Is it mentioned how long the Rileys have been married?
Riley and Sam have been married for about 4 months

In the episode description that UPN released, it says that Buffy breaks up with Spike in this episode. Is this accurate, and can you tell us more details of why/how this occurs, or of Spike's reaction? Also, I am dying to know: do either Buffy and Riley apologize to each for the they past "transgressions".
The UPN description is accurate, but I'm not commenting further on that aspect of the episode. Buffy and Riley don't get a ton of time to just sit and chat, but by the end of the ep, it's clear that Riley has moved on entirely and has no reason for Buffy to apologize. Married life and over a year in a jungle has changed the guy for the better.

Was Sam in the initative?
She was never involved with the Initiative. She's done numerous other things earlier on, but the black-ops team she and Riley are involved with is the first "demon" fighting team she joins.

Is there any clue as to whether Riley/wife have any other agenda's for visiting Sunnydale? Other than this egg laying demon thing?
Their agenda is entirely focused around the demon and its potential offspring. They spend a little time catching up with the Scooby Gang, but they have their mission and don't stray far from it.

I've heard Riley visits Buffy at Doublemeat Palace. Any truth to that?
Yes, there's truth to that.

Where will Riley and Sam be staying? At a motel or Xander and Anya's apartment?
They're only in Sunnydale for part of a day and leave that night. No need to stay with anyone.

Are Xander and Riley still good friends?
Yeah, Riley and Xander stay on good terms.

Does Riley get to hear the past year's news at all (Dawn's origin, Joyce's death, Buffy's death)?
Whether he's caught up on all the Sunnydale activities since he left, the ep never gets into it. A few little things are revealed, but no specific "catch-up."

I'm not sure if you can answer this, but do we get the sense that Buffy regrets her break-up with Riley, or just that she is kind of jealous of the situation in general?
Buffy has a lot of conflicting emotions going on. She has a slightly tough time dealing with the fact that Riley's found such a great love with someone else, but she deals.

Hope this is OK ??

JB

Buffy breaks up with Spike!??????
Since when have they been a couple?

I am under the impression they are not a couple. They sure do not act like one.

Thanks for these, JB (and of course Angel X).
This sounds like a decent ep. Looking forward to seeing Riley again, plus it sounds like there'll be some good Willow-as-Buffy's-best-friend moments (sadly lacking of late). Plus Riley/Xander, alwasy good - though poor Xan has really gotta get himself a guy friend who sticks around for a while (not counting Tito, o' course ).

Shame there's not much catching up - woulda liked to see a quiet scene between Buffy and Riley re. Joyce's death - but I suppose that fits in with the whole mission thing that comes through very strongly in Angel X's answers just above. Riley was ever the focused one...

Here's the entirety of that from herc:
Like poor Spike, I lust mightily after my most feared enemy.
Maddeningly sexy, extra-super-brainy and very nearly as tall as the enormo Hercules, E! Online’s TV maven Wanda routinely pounds out some of the wittiest wordage worldwide. In real life, she also has unassailably good taste, and cheerfully champions virtually all of Herc’s favorites: “Gilmore Girls,” “Alias,” “24,” “Undeclared,” “The Sopranos,” “The West Wing,” “Six Feet Under”; if it’s good, she wants the planet to know it.
When Wanda and Herc finally got a chance to become publicly drunk together late last summer, it became way too obvious that my fellow spoiler sleuth’s love for “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” is both genuine and deeply-rooted.
For more public evidence, one need look no further than E! Online’s new and nifty interview with “Buffy” showrunner Marti Noxon. The magic Wand managed to work in some pointed questions about the biggest “rumors” we’ve been discussing over here at Coaxial Corner -- among them the impending Big Scooby Death and whether we’ve “seen the worst of Willow’s bad side.”
Read the entire Wanda-Marti chatfest here!!

I warn you not to defy Wanda!

ROFL! I was on the edge of my seat waiting for seth's return thanks to her!

Ummm... yes, Wanda did ask about those things, but I didn't see anything in Marti's answers that would support what Herc has been saying will happen.

What's up with this?

Bob, I don't think some people will let go of their ideas. Marti clearly stated that there would be no big bad, but yet somehow some people still think Willow will be that. She also indicated again that there was nothing unusual or telling about Amber being in only 16 eps.

By now it seems rather obvious to me that the BB is the inner conflict in all of the characters on the show. Whether there is a metaphorical manifestation of that angst is to be seen. NM's Wanda interview seemed to hint at such a manifestation - I believe she said something about a 'big blow-out' for the end of the season?

It could be interesting (possibly started magically?) - each character facing up to their fears, worrys, and pain from past transgressions and Buffy from her previous acceptance of death. But what would Spike face up to, his entire non-life of murder, can he emerge from such insights, or being a demon would he be immune from the 'blow-out'?

I've been lurking here for a while now and have a comment on the big bad comment Marti Noxon mentioned in her SciFi article.
Notice how she says: "There may not be a big bad, but there's a big bad climax coming"

Now I am not trying to be sick here, but I really think she is refering to a "Sex Climax". All of her articles put down B/S and she also says it will never happen because he is "evil". I am a big B/S fan and really think her comment is about B/S and not Willow. I think the writers are really trying to throw the viewers off the track of what is really going to happen with B/S. They may want you to think Willow is a big bad just to confuse.

These are just my thoughts. Nice stopping by your board!!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer executive producer Marti Noxon told SCI FI Wire that the show will turn darker as it enters the home stretch of its sixth season. "One of the questions we've been getting a lot of is there doesn't seem to be a big bad this season," Noxon said in an interview. "And what I can say is that the climax is going to be big. There may not be a big bad, but there's a big bad climax coming.

Personally I think the big bad climax may be the melt down of the scooby gang. Like Yoko Factor on bad crack. I think all the clues are in the musical episode. "What can't we face if we're together", "everything is turning out so dark" and "we walk alone in fear". Truth is right now they aren't together at all. They're walking alone and it's not good.

Autumn: You know that's my theory as well.
I think that one song is the blueprint for the rest of this season.

Giles: Am I leaving Dawn in danger? Is my Slayer too far gone to care?

Spike: First I'll save her, then I'll kill her.

We'll see it through, it's what we're always here to do.

They/She will never learn.

Tara is too strong a person and too intuitive not to have seen what is truly in Willow's heart.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree. I think that if there is to be one more ep of major W/T angst before The Big Reunion (and hot monkey makeup sex, can't forget that), it's going to be a sort of mirror of "Family". There was huge angst throughout that ep and then at the end Willow was like, "Duh, I love you no matter what." When Tara realizes that the whole magick power-trip thing was about Willow's fear of being a nerd (and that Tara wouldn't love her if she knew the "real" Willow), it's gonna be another "duh" moment: "What, you thought I didn't know you were really a big geek? See, that's where you're a dummy."

I like the sound of these Riley spoilers. I'm quite looking forward to his return. It sounds like it should be as good as a Tara-less ep can be. I especially like the fact that his wife kicks demon ass and that he didn't marry some demure girly type. It shows that he really didn't have issues with Buffy's power...although that should have been clear, I think some people thought otherwise.

I have bad belly rumblin' type feelings about the season finale. I know they live on a Hellmouth an' all, but dammit... I care about the Scoobies, and I want them to be allowed to be happy. *sniffle*

Yeah I'm just hanging on to that promised "hope". But it seems pretty clear now that "Once More With Feeling" set up all the major themes for the season. Now we see they are getting to Dawn's "does anyone even notice me" issue in the birthday episode. And all the fears in "I'll Never Tell" in the wedding episode. And Buffy is still playing with fire with Spike just so she can feel something.
Even this last interview with Marti echoed "apocalypse, we've all been there" and their desire to do something a bit different this season.

I thought that, too. Like maybe Riley had to forgive Sam for something she did (or vice versa) or maybe one of them had to work through an addiction-like problem.

Scout: I assumed Sam had to help Riley through his death wish/vamp addiction..so she knows a bit about Stand By Your Lover.
Autumn: Now I have the musical racing through my head again..the beginning starts with her saying she just wants to live, it ends with her wanting to touch fire...yeah..this is the blueprint Restless hoped to be but could never be.

I read the spoilers about b/s before they were deleted.
*excuse me while I jump for joy*

I am glad Buffy is finally coming to her senses. I was wondering if she was going to ever make the right decision. I hope these spoilers are true.

Okay, just a reminder folks. This is a Willow/Tara board, not a Buffy/Spike or anti-Buffy/Spike board.
If folks want to civilly discuss Buffy/Spike related spoilers in the spoiler thread, fine. However, the mods will make great efforts to prevent the thread from devolving into ugly arguing or ranting, we strongly suggest taking anything you feel might violate the board's politeness guidelines to private emails or IM's or other forums.

Play nice please. Thank you.
