I have a question for you kitties.......

Postby Sam89 » Wed Jan 23, 2002 5:42 pm

Ok so there have been many different bad guys on the show. I haven't read any spoilers yet either so please don't tell me if you know what or who the season bad is gonna be. I have to say that Glory was my favorite. But ok here is the question......

What kind of bad guy would you guys like to see for this season or next season?

I would have to say that i would LOVE to see buffy face a Sorcerer and a very powerful one at that. OR see an old bad guy return and wreck havick on Sunnydale. Personally Glory or even the Master. They would be perfect. Oh and i heard rumors about a buffy movie to. I think that if buffy had to face Satan himself the movie would be absolutely perfect. So what do u guys think?

I loved Glory. Such wit, such sarcasm...such evil nastiness. hehe. I do so miss her *wipes tear* Hey, maybe they could have her sister show up seaking revenge. mhuahaha. Of course, she has to be more evil than her sister.

Humm. Interesting question. I actually would like to see a vampire be a foe again. Perhaps one of the Scooby gang (Giles, maybe? I know, terrible of me. Believe me, I adore Giles. But it would kinda fit the "Oh grow up" theme, and who better to take on Buffy than her mentor- the one who taught her how to be a slayer in the first place.)Also a possibility- Anya becoming Anyanka again, at least temporarilly. I really hope we get to see more about her past, and it wouldn't be out of character for her to go all vengeancy- especially if things don't go quite the way she planned for the wedding.

The other potentially intriguing possiblility would be a vamped slayer. Cause again, could be a good foe, and would be able to think like a slayer. Plus, we don't know how strong a vamped slayer would be. Might be far more powerful than your usual vampire, and would know how a slayer would think and approach things.

What I *don't* have any interest in seeing- Willow as the Big Bad. I just don't believe that's where they are headed with her arc.

Of course you all know that flying dragon thingy in The Gift is the Big Bad. I mean come on, he's left hints all season. I still say its tied up in someone's backyard.

As for what I'd like to see:
I'd like to see more about everyone's background. I mean we've never seen Willow and Xander back in grade school, the only background we have on Buffy is the movie, and seeing as how Anya is running into more of her old demon buddies I'm sure they have stories to tell. Anyway, Big Bad for me is...Miss Kitty. Think about it, Dawn messes around with that coca pelle statue that she loved and Miss Kitty turns into a modern day version of Pinky and the Brain. Ok maybe it's not realistic, but I really don't know basically anyone can pull it off.

Didn't they do this a couple of issues back with the comic?

Despite tradition...I hope there is not a big bad this year. It would be some much more appropriate to see them struggle with growing up...and not struggle with growing up while trying to kill some baddie.

bring back Vamp Willow (even for just an ep would be nice.) let's see how Tara will handle her... heh.heh.

no seriously, since the Scoobies are growing up, what abt Dawn as the big bad? i know it sounds rather lame but hey, she is a teenager and we all know what teenagers can do when they're unsatisfied w/ their lives. she is in desperate need of adult supervision and buffy/willow doesn't fit in that category (well for now, i.e.) it might be fr peer pressure, demon or spell intervention, and all that jazz. well you get the gist. peace

Season 1 is on my mind because of the DVD's. I would love to see Xander's crazy clown from "The Puppet Show" return at some point....not as a big bad, but as a one shot. Clowns have always frightened me deeply and watching the show again made me jump out of my skin just as much as the first time I have viewed it.

For a big bad, I would also love the show to return to a vamp based season long arc. It's been awhile, and I think it would renew the show while playing into its strengths. Also, it would give a chance for Willow to move front and center as research girl now that Giles has returned to England.

I've been watching the Season 1 DVDs as well, and my wife was remarking, "man, the Master was a really lame villain." At this point, I don't know whether a vamp could be big enough of a Big Bad. Part of the problem is that after last season, there's hardly a bigger bad possible - I mean, they had to defeat a god! Check out the progression:

S1: The Master - old & powerful vamp
S2: Spike/Dru/Angelus - old & powerful vamps
S3: The Mayor - turns into a giant snake
S4: Adam - super-powerful Frankenstein
S5: Glory - a god in human form

They've been getting steadily more overwhelming, and also have required more people's involvement to finish off. S1 and S2, Buffy could pretty much go mano a mano with the BB and win, but the Mayor took some help, Adam took Willow/Giles/Xander in the matrix-y spell, and Glory took those three plus Anya, Tara, and Spike. The more I think about it (especially after seeing "The Gift" again last week), the more it seems like the moment Buffy jumped off that tower, everything changed - and not just networks.

My take - there aren't going to be any more external Big Bads, beyond monster-of-the-week one-offs. As we've seen in S6, the challenges now are internal to the group, or are basically familiar (the lame gunmen). There have been rumors about Willow being the big bad, or Anyanka returning, or whatever - no comment on the validity of those as rumors, but they point to a lack of external big bads this season. I suspect that'll continue to be the case next season as well. I'm really interested to see how they try to resolve this season and set up S7. I think it's all going to be completely unexpected....

no no no! it has to be that weird man with the cheese from Restless. did that ever get followed up and i just missed it? or was it just weirdness?

i'd like if there was a female Big Bad... and a vamped slayer would definitely be cool.

Well, I have news. The new Big Bad is going to be ... A box of matches. Not any box of matches, though, oh no - this will be an empty box of Sainsbury's own brand. And it's possessed. Keeps devouring people. Terrifying, utterly terrifying. You see, we've had bigger, better big bad's, so now we are going to have smaller, more teeny tiny. It'll disturb you all, I promise. I mean, have you ever seen a box of matches when it's angry? Do any of you remember the box of matches in The Young Ones? Camera pans over to it, and it suddenly says "don't look at me; I'm irrelevent". Well, this one is even more awesome. Take my word for it, kitties; this season's bad is gonna be so tiny it'll be HUGE.

You couldn't have a more disturbing Big Bad than her father, Hank Summers, returning as a vampire. Accompanied by his vamped secretary, they appear as a harbingers of an assault by their sire, a uber-vamp, thousand of years old.... yep, the first vampire!

How many apocalypses does that make?!

Seven? Or just ONE? The final one...

My perfect evil villian is Willow vamped out NOW, after her kick ass wicca powers. She'd be practically unstoppable! (I wrote some fics about this BTW). And I know I'm probably in the minority on this, but I do like the Troika. They're frickin' funny even if they aren't super scary. Andrew is my favorite of the nerds
Or how about the big bad is that bunny monster from Monty Python and the Search For The Holy Grail? Then Anya could go around saying, "See? I told you it was Bunnies!"

Well, Spike survived falling from Glory's tower right on a ton of bricks, so I think that Doc probably survived too. Hell, he survived a sword right through the chest and was simply pushed off unscathed by Buffy. Since he worshipped Glory, he could be in the mood for major retribution. He not only can fight with his tongue (a la Chinese ghost) and has faster than vampire reflexes, he's also a powerful magic user.

(I just like Joel Gray's acting.)

Otherwise, bring the Olsen twins as a dual Big Bad! Eeeeeeeeeeeeevil!!!

Okay, that's just not funny. I truly believe that the Olsen Twins may possibly be The Ultimate Big Bad. They are truly the source of all that is evil in the universe, and they frighten me. They always have. Even when they were just the ugly kids on that really bad John Stamos show, I could see the darkness trying to get out, and I fear we are near the true apocalypse if they succeed.

As much as I wish Doc would make a return...I don't think that he will. I don't know if Joel Gray would do a whole season or even more than 2-3 eps. I could be wrong but I just don't feel that's the direction the story line is heading.

An interesting possibility would be Spike returning to his BB days after having reformed...then again, been there, done that with Angel(us).

The Lame Gunmen are another option and I think that's the most probable. Maybe not them, specifically but perhaps something they create. They aren't the brightest bunch of guys, after all.

I read a fanfic called "The Letting Go" at Extra Flamey and I loved the concept. A fallen angel wreaking havoc on the world. OR...what if something from Buffy's time in "heaven" were to come to get her?

There are so many possibilities right now and no ideas as to what direction Joss & Co. will take us. Then again, what else is new? We all know that if we trust in Joss we'll inevitably be taken on a roller coaster ride for his amusement.

Whatever happens over the next two seasons, I will be on the edge of my seat watching...and waiting.

I think that Buffy will deal handily with whoever/whatever the "bigbad" turns out to be, since it will be revealed that the reason she is not "fully" human is that she is actually part angel*smiley with halo+wings*.

Clowns give me the creeps too! I have always been terrified of clowns. To this day I will run the over direction. I don't know where this came from...some traumatic childhood experience I guess.

Now while I agree clowns are the things nightmares are made of, I'm personally afraid of mimes.
I mean, think about it. They're like clowns, all dressed up, but their job is to be in your face until you figure out what they're trying to say.

The Olsen twins are terrifying. My 13-year old sister gets their magazine. That's even scarier... what's worse is that they produce 2 or 3 straight-to-video movies a year that inevitably wind up in my VCR when my sister visits from her school!

I agree with everyone about the Clowns. God that would just be too freaky for words if the New Big Bad was some big-demon-possesed -Clown thing!

Sounds like everyone here has read Stephen King's "It", with its villainous clown, Pennywise .

Given the creator's reliance on past horror and comic archetypes, I'm surprised that an Incredible Hulk-like character hasn't been mentioned. You know, someone who is a normal guy most of the time, but when angered turns into the ultimate monstrosity; or maybe someone who is predestined to become a big nasty despite him(her)self.
