Haven't seen the episode yet, waiting' on the usenet downloads.

But I did cruise over to AICN to read what Herc had to say. Huh, yeah. Whatever Herc.

Given what people have said this episode seems very much in place. I like the idea of the LG as being the darkside of the Scoobies. I'll have to wait and see about how it is executed.

The Good thing in this ep (outside of course of our presence being graced by Tara) is that Buffy does want to take resposibility for her actions. That is a step up for her now.

I was thinking the same thing as MoMack--Buffy was punching Spike and saying all of the things she was thinking about herself. She hates herself. I'm sure it will help to actually see the show tomorrow and not just read the wildfeed, but I think she probably was really breaking down and begging Tara not to tell her it was alright, because then she would have to accept her own feelings. Always before when someone acted in a way that was dark and against their normal personality, the Scoobies would find out it was a demon or spell or something and they would "fix" it. Now, Buffy is realizing this can't be quickly fixed. She has to either accept her own feelings or change them, and that is a lot harder than finding a spell or killing a demon. I am not a B/S shipper, but I don't like the way Buffy is constantly beating up Spike. If it was a guy character doing that to a girl character, we would all be up in arms. I know Spike has done some horrible things, but that doesn't mean Buffy has to do horrible things, too, by beating him up when he is trying to help her. Also, a lot of people have said on other boards "What if Spike didn't have his chip? He would still be evil." Well, he might be evil to others, but as far as Buffy is concerned, he has no chip. He could bite her right now and feel no pain, but he doesn't.
I think it is great that Buffy would rely on Tara and I think this episode shows that Tara could take her place as the magic one of the Scoobies. I think Tara is the one person Buffy knew wouldn't judge her. I think possibly Dawn wouldn't have judged her, either, but since she isn't feeling close to Buffy right now, Buffy naturally turned to Tara for help.
As for Jonathan, I think he will eventually have to turn on the other two nerds and get Buffy to help him against them. It sounds like Andrew is kind of liking the evil things they are doing once he gets used to the idea.
Sometimes I get irritated with Dawn's character, but then I realize that even though Buffy was the same age as Dawn when the series started, Buffy had good friends, her Mom, her Dad occasionally, and Giles to help her. She didn't have to worry about a roof over her head or being alone, let alone the fact that she wasn't human to begin with. So I can see how Dawn is going to just go farther into rebellion and resentment.

But it was cute seeing Willow holding her thumb in front of her body again in those pictures. We haven't seen that nervous gesture in a while. She's nervous with Tara - it's so cute.
