Again, those of you who are discussing the true name thing and whether it meant that Tara was/is hiding something don't seem to be addressing the fact that when Willow asks if Tara has told her her real name, Tara says "Oh, you know that." "That" meaning Tara's real name. So how is she hiding anything this way, then or now?

Ah, see, I interpreted this not as Tara hiding anything, but rather as her telling Willow, "You know that, because I love and trust you enough to know it; if that gives you some kind of power over me, I'm willing to let you have it."

"Power" meaning, in my interpretation, the power of their love. *sniffle*

Of course, I also started to make some kind of theory (having nothing to do with bunnies) about--this being Willow's dream--the exchange indicating some sort of misgiving on her part about how much she knew about Tara. Since, after all, she didn't know about Tara's family at this point in the series.

But that gave me a dizzy type headache.

Restless, one of the most mind boggling episodes of Buffy ever. The entire shows future is rapped up in it! Now the more this season progresses the more reruns I watch the more I become a very paranoid kitten. So this is the link for all you uh speculators. Because we haven't even scratched the surface of the, not just fo w/t (but thats why were all here isn't it) but because we all want to find that pot of gold in the buffyverse!

I am right there with you.
I think one thing when you look at the interpretetion or the possibilities is that you have to be aware who is dreaming. POV-wise speaking.

I still wonder why Willow calls Giles Rupert in his dream, when they do the research in the Bronze.

"Willow: Rupert. You've gotta focus. You must have some kind of explanation. If we don't know what we're fighting, I don't think we stand a chance."

This whole sentence freaks me out! It's so much season 6 it just jumps at me.. with the scoobies and no real Big Bad.

well what about this:
if tara dies and stays dead this season(i know i know only in theory we hope)would she come back as a guide for buffy's prophetic dreams? When the first slayer speaks to buffy through dreams she use's tara does that mean that tara has some ancient power running threw her families blood or she's connected to the slayer in some way or did buffy's head just supply tara because the first can't speak english which doesn't make any sense because we've seen the first speak to buffy without a guide(intervention) so is tara something more or something important? i think yes!
thanks for letting me ramble d-f out

Xita just said something very interesting that Tara can sense what other people are feeling..In essence that makes her an empath, which to me describes Tara perfectly.

"vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experiences of another,
either the past or present, without
having the feelings, thoughts, and
experiences fully communicated in an
objectively explicit manner"..

Her sensitive soul and her real pain at what happens to the others makes her the one person that can "connect" to everyone..Maybe that is why she appears in all of their dreams..

Im probably way out of my league throwing my suppositon out there, but Tara seems someone who would be a perfect empath..Now what that would have to do with anything i dont know, i just thought it was very interesting..

I think that there is still more of Tara to be revealed. Tara is magical and mystical, it seems everytime there is some spiritual guiding to be done, Tara is the one doing it. I think Tara is Tara and that in itself is magical.

my dad had a theory for a while that Tara was part of Willow's "I Will it so Spell" in Something Blue...which I couldn't see as true, because she broke the spell...but i do think there's still some sort of mystery about Tara, even after Family...

Tara is much more powerful in Restless than in the reality of end-of-season-four time...but this is their subconsciouses (is that the right plural...gosh, i feel like i'm playing the nemesises/nemeses game) which may know more than they could actually know...

so, i'm conjecturing wildly here...but i wonder...tara's mom was a very powerful wicca...what if tara is subconsciously limiting her own power because of some fear tied to her mother's death...but in the dream world...she has all the power that she runs from in reality

just wandering through the ideas...

"Is she your sister?"
"She's my everything..."

"Would that mean we have to snuggle?"

"There's nothing we can't face...except for bunnies."

"Oh! Oh, it's not a, a gay thing, you know, I mean, well...she's gay, but, but we don't ... gay. Not that there's anything..."
