Two days ago my daughter "lost" her cell here in the house. She called it a million times and searched for at least 45 minutes. She finally gave up & went to get a drink out of the fridge...

In high school I once found my shoes in the fridge. Apparently I walked in the door, took them off, and went to get a drink.

My fridge has been the resting place for many a household item.
Apparently, this issue of randomly loosing things is a common teenage affliction. I have 5 of them for the next two weeks and in just the last 24 hours, two lost their cell phones, one lost a shoe and another couldn't find his pants. He was running around in his underwear for an hour before he found them hanging from a doorknob upstairs. I told him, 'just go put on a different pair.' He said, "But I spent the last three days wearing those in." If nothing else, the next two weeks are going to be stinky.

I just googled "How long does Kentucky Fried Chicken last in the fridge?"

If you're curious, the consensus seems to be three days tops.

I have done loads of housework too and yet it still found me lol. ewwwww.

Today I went to the supermarket (took forever, we have had heavy snow) & when I am leaving, I see this asian lady standing by the big sign advertising that lamb is on special for $12.99 a kg (w/ a picture of bloody meat) taking a picture of herself posing w/ it. First I thought she was taking a picture of herself w/ the snow in the background... But there's no way. It was a picture of her smiling face w/ the picture of lamb meat. What.

Conversations with sleeping people:

My fiance and I just had the following conversation as I went to use the bathroom.

Him: (sitting up quickly) *mumble*
Me: What?
Him: Wait a minute, are you friendly?
Me: ... I'm Katie.
Hiim: Yeah, but are you friendly or no?
Me: I'm friendly.
Him: 'kay. (flinging back onto the mattress.)

Earlier this week the kids watched 'The Exorcist.' Tonight when I got home form work, one of them ran up to me and yelled, "The power of Christ compels me!" Then proceeded to throw water at me. *sighs* That was funny the first seventeen times, but I think I'm over it now.

I haven't slept more than two hours every night for the past two-three weeks... Sometimes I don't even sleep at all anymore. Don't really know, if it's the coffee that keeps me going or if it's just plain adrenaline at this point.

Texting back and forth with my friend B. Ay dios mio what is it with women telling me they need to be with a man and not a boy. So many women are more "the man" in their relationships. Funny thing is these sort of comments are coming from my straight girlfriends. LOL

Dear Kittens,

I was kind of wondering... We all know Tara/Amber isn't a blonde. But she isn't a brunette either, IMHO. So what the heck is she? I mean, I know; her hair are honey-coloured or fawn or whatever, but is there a noun for it? (I suck at English, I know.)

The great debate! The commonplace referring to her as a blonde in fandom/fanfic terms is another topic, but as for her hair colour itself it really is kind of a complicated matter. I mean she starts with a blonde dye job where her roots are showing and grow out throughout the rest of the season:

Then there's times she has that honey-coloured hair you mention:

Then there's times when she's just flat out brunette:

Some of it could be attested to lighting etc, but I think it's fair to say she's a light brunette. That's just my opinion though!

OT: People are actually surprised we lost the football tonight? Really? Like, really? We were never that good.

Everybody is playing a little crappy? We sucked saturday and thought the worst because we are in the poule with Germany and Portugal. But then I saw that game and I was like, okaaaay... we still have a chance.

Our coach has just has to throw out van Persie, and get Huntelaar in the game, damn it!

I'm voting for the Hunter as well. :) Why is nobody giving him a real chance?! :eyebrow If Germany plays like they did on Saturday, we won't stand a chance against the Netherlands though. ^^

OT: Why do people keep calling me at 3 in the morning? I mean, okay, I don't sleep, but no one calls me all day and at night I actually miss calls, because I'm already on the line with someone else. It's weird. I like it. :brr

I think the right word would be tawny or sandy, though 'dark blonde' might also work. I guess it depends what season you're writing, though...

But, you could write Tara with purple hair and I'd still think she'd look good that way :P

I really love my mother. Like, really! I was on the phone with her for two hours yesterday. She lives about 200 miles away from here and she's coming over in my birthday weekend. Normally she is on vacation with my birthday, due to my stepfathers vacation days. But he works abroad now for a short time, so my mom is coming over, alone. For the whole weekend. And we're gonna do all kind of things like; museums, lunch, dinner, the bar with my friends. She said she's gonna make up for all the years she wasn't there with my birthday. And I am really looking forward to it. Plus my uncle, aunt and grandparents are going to join us for lunch on Saturday. That makes up for my dads actions, who will send a lousy text message maybe, and that's it.

This might be the best birthday ever. But somehow I have this weird feeling something is going to happen and that everything falls through.

I realized today that part of the issue with communicating with this one manager at work is that she is so busy making sure she is heard that she can't hear anyone else. A conversation today:

Her: "I like this message. I want it to say this when this other thing happens."
Me: "Ok, I can do that for you. When this other thing happens, what would you like the system to do then?"
Her: "I like this message. Do this."
Me: "Yes. I will do that. And in the case that this is what happens, what should the message say?"
Her: "Make IT SAY THIS!"

That's when I realized that she was never going to listen and that I just needed to do what she asked and use my judgement on the other variation. It also made me wonder how often I (and everyone else) does the same thing?

The conversations between my nieces and nephews always make me laugh. The boys were in rare form last night at dinner. Jesse was chewing a mouth full of food and talking to July...

Jesse: This fish is delicious.
July: You sound Welsh.
Jesse: And you sound like a douche bag.

Had this conversation with my best friend the other night at around 4 am. While he was tired out of his mind and probably half asleep already, I was practically energetic.

Him: "You know what would be amazing right now?"
Me: "Sex?"
Him: "Not what I meant!"
Me: "Really? What did you mean? Sleep?"
Him: "Not what I was thinking about either?"
Me: "So, what were you thinking about?"
Him: "Something in between. You game?"
Me: "Uh... No! Gonna hang up on you now." *laughs at him stuttering some explanation as I hang up* :grin

I thought I would go to work for 2 hours, maybe 2.5 today to put a system in production. I was there 6 hours and had to do 2 fixes that ... one is like a patch and the other should have been caught in testing. Anyway, I worked my little fingers off but got it the fuck done. Hopefully it's all good. A user will test tomorrow and then I work 1/2 day Monday and am off for a week so I hope nothing explodes or gets fucked up.
