I'm with Laragh: anything that helps you move forward is a good thing.
That said, there is a caveat I'd like to make: careful of your point of view.
Now, I know that I'm always harping on POV, but if you initially imagine something as a shooting script, it's harder to see the story through your POV character's eyes. Things that are obvious on camera aren't always obvious to a character and vice versa.
If writing as a script comes naturally to you, then I'd just run with it and find a beta that will complement you well when you work on transitioning it.
