A bit over two weeks ago, our older cat Gabrielle (or Gaby) disappeared. She was an indoor cat, and was afraid of the outdoors. No one saw her leave, and it tool us half a day to notice her absence (she liked to nap in odd places).
She had a collar, but an old phone number on it.
We searched he house afraid she had died, we searched the yard and drove around the town. I even called the city department in charge of picking up roadkill, nothing.
We were pretty sure she was gone for good.
Last night we out for late night ice cream, it was a kind of last minute thing. On our way up the driveway We saw a cat running in the dark, and we were not sure. She was near the door front , and she ran behind the fence when I got too close, but I coaxed close enough so I could pick her up. Her collar was gone but you could see where it had been and she had lost a fair bit of weight. We gave her a full tin of meat and she ate fast and run under my bed to sleep. She is scared and thinner, but definitively healthy.

Great news about your cat! We lost ours once, neighbors were feeding him and mistakenly locked him in a garage for two days!

Anyway, my happy feeling is just walking by the ocean with Kate, smelling the fresh air, hearing the slap of little waves against the rock, being alive and well on a beautiful day.

Two and a half months from today I will be with my girl. And my return flight will be going to waste, cause I'm not coming back.

I get to have a belated Christmas with her, take her on a date for her birthday, and spend our anniversary with her on New Year's Eve. Instead of flying home on the 1st, I'll find a job and an apartment, and I'll get to see my girl all the time. No more of this 10 months apart nonsense (okay, it's been not quite 8 months so far, but by the time I get there it will be over 10); I'll be able to see her every couple of days, and we'll be part of each other's real in-person lives. I don't know if I've ever been this excited, or this nervous.

Never more proud of my daughter than I was today. I've been smiley ever since she told me this. Apparently, at last night's GS meeting they were discussing women in politics and how the majority were scouts, etc. Anyway, this kid sitting next to her leans over and starts talking. Here's the conversation...

OTHER KID: Yeah, like Republicans.
J: And Democrats, hello! Not everyone is a Republican.
OTHER KID: Well, I guess you can be Democrat, as long as you don't like Obama because he sucks.
J: Well, I happen to like him and a lot of the things he stands for.
OTHER KID: If you like him that means you love abortion and believe in killing babies.
J: *Now red faced and pissed* I don't love abortion! And I certainly don't believe in 'killing babies,' but I believe it's a woman's right to choose and up to her to make that decision. It's her body and her business, not mine. There are too many unwanted kids in the world and if she can't take care of herself when she's pregnant or take care of a baby after, then she has no business having it. Both of them are better off. Plus, Romney wants to take all the money away from Planned Parenthood and make women have these really gross tests that hurt and are very expensive. And when they can't afford it and have babies no one wants or who are messed because they didn't take care of themselves. The kid ends up miserable in foster care until he's 18 and that's just bad.
OTHER KID: Huh?

Ummm, where is my child and what did you do with her? I literally shed a tear when she told me this story, lol. Way to go J!

Mo' money! Mo' money! Hell of a week to stack up my chips yo!

Thank you to the following teams for contributing to my funds this week:

Houston Texans over the Chicago Bears
Los Angeles Clippers over the Miami Heat
Brooklyn Nets over the Boston Celtics
New York Knicks over the San Antonio Spurs
Miami Heat over the Denver Nuggets

People think I am crazy with the way I bet at times, but it's cos I'm the guru son. You don't want none of this. Kick ass!

Watched the game on Wednesday and the team won, so they'll be playing in the round of sixteen in the Champions League once again.
I also helped my parents book flights, hotelrooms and all that stuff for our trip to London on Christmas. Can't wait!
