The worst four words that can ever come out of your parents' mouth:

"Here, talk to _____"

Following on from that, another thing that sucks. Awkward phone conversations.

Last week was the season premier of Doctor Who, and a friend contacted me wanting to go to a big meetup to watch it, so I met up with her and we went together, along with a couple of her friends I didn't know. It was a lot of fun going with them, and after, I suggested to my friend that we go to the meetups each of the next 4 weeks for new episodes before it goes on break again. She very enthusiastically agreed. This morning I contacted her about it, didn't hear back, and wrote her again a few hours later. Apparently she can't go this week or next, and didn't seem very apologetic about it. I'm really frustrated that she didn't bother to let me know; I was looking forward to it, but more than that I had planned it into my weekend and I hate having my plans get messed up due to someone else's lack of consideration.

One of my oldest and most favourite soccer jerseys coming shredded out of the laundry... Something like this never happened before to me and there are no words to express how terribly upset I am about this...

The team lost one of the most important games of the year on Saturday. I've been looking forward to that day for almost five months and then the game just sucked. Not feeling too well to begin with, but still traveling all the way to the stadium with high expectations, because that's what you do as a fan. Can't say I've been this disappointed in the team in a long time. One of the worst games I've ever seen...

My mother always thinks she knows best, as mothers do. She never tells me that she disagrees with my decisions, but sometimes I just wish she'd come out and say it, if for no other reason than to give me an opportunity to tell her to let me make my own damn mistakes. Maybe she does knkw better, maybe I am making bad choices, but they're *my* choices, and I can't tell her that when she's being passive aggressive about it instead of just *telling* me she thinks I making bad decisions. I may sound childish, but right now it SUCKS to not be able to yell at my mother.

People. As in having to deal with the general public on a daily basis. I'm incredibly sick of them and unfortunately, the assholes far out number the decent folks by at least 10:1. I can totally see why people lose it and go postal. Not that I ever would, but I can see why they do it. You can only be beat down so much before you seek retaliation.

Rachel went to a dentist today. She doesn't go often because 1. she hates doctors 2. she doesn't have dental insurance (although she used to) 3. she just doesn't ever schedule shit. The dentist says she needs 3 fillings, a crown, and possibly a root canal. $1200-$2000. What sucks? I have dental insurance. The kids have dental insurance. If we were legally married, she would be on my insurance and I don't know how much it would cost but it certainly wouldn't be fucking $1200 - $2000. I feel so pissed about it and by extension pissed about this election.

I share your anger and agree that it royally suscks. I don't have dental insurance either, but my daughter is on my wife's group policy, so at least she is covered. My wife pays $250/mo. pre tax and has a $750 deductible. I pay $600/mo., with a $5000 deductible, for the "privilege" of having Texas Risk Pool Insurance. $6,000/yr because I have a shitty pre-existing condition. My little stint in the hospital earlier this year with pneumonia is costing me $8500 out of pocket!!! Can you fucking believe that? ALL because we can't legally marry.

Scary driving loons!

Nuts, not the bird-loons! Kate merged into the freeway, normal activity, didn't cut anyone off or cause a hard stop or swerve but this giant guy became enraged and followed her for miles, took the same exit, even pulled into the public library. She was scared, sat in her locked car. He finally drove away. She was terribly upset by it and so was I.

Shel - Wow. $8500? That's insane. Will any of the Obamacare stuff help you out?

Rachel's insurance is like $180 a month and is basically 1 preventative visit a year and then high deductible sort of disaster insurance. Mine is free or a benefit of working for the state with pretty decent coverage. I think the deductible is $1000 or $1500 a year per person. I pay $130 pre tax for the kids together and if I could get Rachel on the insurance I think that would be like $240.

Adam's parents arrive today.

They'll be staying with us. In our one bedroom apartment. While both Adam and I are sick.

They don't really get Adam. They don't get me, either.

Adam's mom can't sit still. She can't just sit and relax. So instead she'll do things like clean. It's maddening.

It's going to be a long few days.

Having no one to call to talk about things with my girl. I can't talk to my best friend about it because she thinks my relationship is stupid, and it feels like she's always waiting for an excuse to tell me that's what I get for dating a teenager. It really sucks that I can't talk to her, because there's no one else to call. I suppose there's my mum, but I've never been able to talk to her about relationship stuff. I only have one other close friend, but considering we live on different continents I can't just call her up for a chat. It sucks to have no one I can talk to in the moment when I'm upset.

Sometimes people REALLY suck. On the second night of the school play tonight, this Mom sat in the front row, unfortunately next to me, and just as it started...popped in her ear buds and turned on her iPod. Seriously? :wtf Nice way to support your kid. I'm not totally thrilled about going every night either, but the kids have worked their asses off for three months, rehearsing everyday after school until 6:30pm and you disrespect them like that? Oh hell no! At the end she remarked, "It sounded MUCH better like this." Classy lady, real classy. Nice way to show you're kid that you care and teach them how to be a supportive parent in return. Stupid ass.

I have my 4th bad headache in as many days. Wednesday migraine medicine and a nap fixed it, Thursday migraine medicine and a failed nap helped a little, but I don't want to be taking pain killers every day. I'm not even having that much back and neck pain today, which is what usually causes my migraines, so I don't know what's up... I'm just sick of it! There's only so much time I can stand to spend laying on the floor of my closet in the dark.

How no matter what he still has that power over me. I have been sympathetic up to a point, unprovoked he still can go nuts and get to me and make me feel like that scared and defeated 12 year old, how with his words he can ruin my day and with his emotional blackmail he can make me hate everything about myself.
