Sleeping in for the first time in several weeks. I just realized, I have nothing to do today. That's rare.

My weekend (so far):

Stopped at the store and got carded for a bottle of wine! (awesome - if you don't know, I'm 45).
Rented the Cirque Du Soleil movie and Argo and both were fantastic.
Did some chores
Bought cat food online but didn't have to pay because I had a credit balance from selling some CDs (balance remaining).
Bought some workout cards online but didn't have to pay because I had a gift card from donating blood (balance remaining).
Went for a lovely bike ride.
Bought some water bottles for the kids & wife at REI and didn't have to pay because we had a customer appreciation credit (and have balance remaining).
The sales girl flirted with me:) (or was very friendly).
Got FroYo.

My happy feelings...I have an absolutely WONDERFUL child. She was in her school production of Snow White this week and tonight was the closing night. She played the evil queen and did such a great job. When she came out to take a bow at the end she was so happy and proud. It was one of those moments, as a parent, you wish could last forever.

The animal shelter was really nice today, as usual, and the new Doctor Who episode was very good, and I've read a bit and watched some dumb TV, and I got a package from a dear friend. It's been a nice day-- not very productive or anything really special happened, but the good days still seem few and far between, so I'm trying to remind myself to be extra happy for them.

I saw Sandi Thom live and acoustic last Friday night, and it was awesome!!! It was very intimate, like only 50 people were there. And she did 'Landslide' from Fleetwood Mac, and it almost made me cry because it was soooo beautiful. And afterwards she signed some albums, and she signed my concert ticket because I was kind of broke and I couldn't buy a new album, and I forgot to bring one. But she was very sweet and like ten people stayed after the concert and we talked for a little bit, also about her moving from Scotland to California and that she really had to adjust to the weather, and how she instantly would fall back into her Scottish accent as soon as she set foot in Scotland. But anyway, it was one of the greatest nights ever!!!

I'm totally in the weight loss zone right now. I'm down another 10lbs in the last 3 weeks putting me right around -65 since last August. Woo Hoo!

My 3+ week visit home got off to a bad start, but today I got to sub at my old work which made a great first day back. I got to see a few of my old kiddos-- they're all so big now!-- and a couple old coworkers, and it gave me something to do which I know I will be lacking a lot of days. I even got to meet some new babies, and see how one little girl looks after her cleft palate surgery.

Few more days here in Cali before I head out to my next adventure in DC. I'm looking forward to my visit in the state of Maryland. I even have an appointment with the Red Cross out there hoping I can do my thing. Aside from the obvious touristic things I plan on getting my thrill on at the Six Flags in Baltimore and checking out the Cubbies againt the Nationals. Still owning 2013 son! Go big or go home.

I had a lovely Skype with one of my best friends today, made peace (at least temporarily) with my stepmum, read a bit, and now I'm watching Doctor Who. Good day

I'm getting a new appartement, all for myself!! Not a weird contructed appartement building where I have to share the toilet, kitchen and bathroom with 9 other people. WHAAAAA!!

I'm completely totally happy . I have met the woman of my dreams. Have my dream job. Compared to 6 years ago when I was suicidal. It does get better.

I'm subbing half-days the rest of the week which means I get to earn a little money, I might see one of my sisters tomorrow, and I *think* I finally have college sorted (except for actually registering for classes, and filling out a housing contract). Yay for things actually going a bit right!

Yay! I bought a treadmill off Craigs list for $100. And the guy was so nice he actually loaded it in his car and followed us home to get it here. I was going to have to go home, take out the car seats, etc. It was only 3 miles but still really nice.

Now...

My wife thinks it should go in the garage. I see a spot right over there in the library where it could go... We'll see. I thought step 1 - find a treadmill. step 2 - where it goes?

Still feeling the effects of a hella good trip from Maryland. I even ended up in Gettysburgh which wasn't even planned, but instead happened as soon as I landed in DC.

Baltimore was cool for the most part, but can be ghetto as hell. Now DC that was hella cool. Favorite things hands down was the Lincoln Memorial and the Capital Building. I even hit on a hot muslim chick that was on the subway. She had it all looks, brains and personality. What sealed the deal was she knew here shit when it came to basketball. lol

Saturday I saw the AMAZING season finale of Doctor Who, then visited my old roommates, rewatched the episode with them, and spur-of-the-moment went with them to see the new Star Trek movie which was pretty awesome. Then Sunday I went canoeing with my dad in the morning and spent the afternoon with my sisters and my beautiful nephew, who is nearly 2 and one of my favourite people; he didn't remember me since I hadn't seen him since Christmas, but he played with me anyway, and he tried to say my name. Today, I got to work another morning at my old job and was asked to work the next two mornings as well, then had lunch with my best friend and kept her company while she donated blood (since I wasn't eligible), and best of all I got confirmation that I'll be able to keep my scholarship when I enter the Nursing programme, which means I am going to college, really for real!

Even with headaches and body aches and occasional pangs of missing my ex, it's been a great few days

Great weekend! On Saturday I went to a friend's graduation. I am so proud of him. He's in his early 50's and decided to go for his BA. He hadn't finished school before because of marriage and his kids. All these years later he is finally doing more for himself. That is just awesome! Next year his kids (also my peeps) will be getting their degrees.

Yeah boy! My good buddy George's birthday is in July and his wife and I bought him his present. He is a huge, and I mean huge soccer fan. His favorite team are the current champs, Club America. They will be in Las Vegas against the Chivas. So George will soon find out that we're going to Vegas for the game. This is super special because he's never seen them live. You're my peeps George and I always look out for my people.
