late

Postby Owl » Wed May 15, 2002 9:20 am

Ah. So, it's me again wiccachica, sending you a happy birthday, Owl style, which means, late. (the fun part of this is that you get to have your birthday celebrated over several days, which makes it longer.) anyway, late shift, late birthday....everything's happy.

So, I tried to develop some skills for this occasion, but sadly, I have none. Well, no techno computer skills, anyway. So I want you to imagine that I am giving you your very own Late shift avatars, screensavers and computer games featuring the late shift cast and, of course, the woncubines, with music specially provided by CarniVal. (They do a mean bunch of Prince covers, let me tell you.) I'm especially proud of the sims-type game thingie where multiple willows and taras wander around happily. Oh, and the Danger swimsuit calendar. (even though you can't see him very well because of the moonlight and all) I thought about making chocolate molds of various characters for you, but they'd probably just become animate knowing you.

Right. So, I hope it was delightful, in any case. Would that I could make you something worthy of your infinite scritchableness (which is being so cleverly demonstrated by LeatherQueen)... I think I'll just go have a spin on the revolving bed now.... whheeeee!

Thank you so much for the wonderful birthday wishes!!!! They made my day when I woke up with a big hairy hangover and read the posts!!!

Now...let's see if I can nudge the troll nicely for an update soon. What do you think???

I know it's late but HAPPY BIRTHDAY WICCA!!

I wasn't around for the past couple of days due to much heavy usage of the Kleenex tissue. The show's so damn depressing. I like it here in Pens...Willow and Tara are always here. :D

Thanx on the avatar comment, I've lost myself while putting it together. :grin I put this one together, looking for my fav lil' pic of Amber and being all *sniff* colorful and pretty, she's so beautiful *sniff*sniff* Oh God quick Wicca, I need an update so I can keep my mind on W/T goodness instead of those Mutant freaks.....

Wiccachica-

good golly, that must be some mean hangover. which is, y'know, perfectly normal for a troll... I once knew a troll who had a hangover for an entire year. But for a human....

I gotta say it.

That's just not healthy. Maybe you shouldn't let the troll take you drinking anymore? I mean, just a little of that Trollichnaya vodka, and you're done for....

Anyway, I hope that all is well with your new job, and, uh, what's a buncha woncubines gotta do to get an update around here? ;)

*hangs head in shame*

Okay, so I got a teeny tiny bit caught up in my real life stuff and stopped reading this for a while. Then I get time, come back, and you've moved boards!

Imagine my surprise when I check in on the page I left off on and get totally lost! I thought I'd lost the whole fic until I finally figured out you have to change the start and stop range numbers to get it all! I got caught up with where I left off and now have a whole 24 pages of wonderful mayhem and Trollishiousness to look forward to! I'm going to go exclamation crazy because of it!!!!!

weekend UPDATE

Postby wiccachica » Fri May 24, 2002 8:58 am

The troll has told me that this weekend will be the first update since his...heh heh...hangover drama...

I've asked him to pack it full of pent up trolly weirdness... and he says you should put your confusion caps on cuz this is gonna be a wild ride....full of quantym fizics (the fizzy kind) and multi-dimensional hijinks....

"Tremble!"

Personally he wont let me read it so I can't tell if he's just pumping it up with Troll Advertising to raise the woncubine veiwer quota....

we'll see...

hugs!

Oh, happy, happy day. :D

And in celebration of this happy occasion, I have decided to re-read this whole thing. From the beginning. I know... daunting task. But I'm always up to a challenge. ;)

So good to have you back, chica... you know your woncubines are always at your beck and call. :)

"beck beck beck..."

edited to add:

And by the way, in order to make this fic easier for me to read due to the extreme longness of the first page, I've copied the WHOLE fic into word, and found out that at Arial 11 font, this story is currently 348 pages long. Wow. :eek

Re: update

Postby wiccachica » Sat May 25, 2002 12:07 pm

348? Wow...who wrote this thing? Are they ever goign to just stop and do something else??? Geesh!

But wow that you are reading it from the beginning...it's like...a book almost...

See if you can find the loose end that was still left out there...it is going to come back to haunt them later...I'm not sure how...but it will... (hint...it's somewhere around the Fair portion of the tale...)

So this is a little warm up to the weirdness...I think...I just had to let the troll find his voice again since he hasn't been wirting for a while...

He hates the fact that I've been working so hard...it leaves no time for play... but I'll try to fix that...eh?

So here we go...

Chapter 161: We Last Left Our Heroes in a World of Trouble…well…actually…a couple of worlds…of…. Not-So-Much Trouble…. as Peculiar Circumstance…

In a crypt all wet and dreary

As we ponder Quantum Theory

I do my best to cinch my lips

And squelch a bloody snore

I pull my head, severely nodding

Up to watch the Scoobies Prodding

Poor ol Blondie as she wades us through some

Quantifantastic Lore…

I suppose one would say I am not the kind of man who stands around waiting for answers, but in this particular case...I’m willing to give a little listen before storming off into a world that can’t see me… and I can’t bite…or touch… or exist in…

Just call me Joe Reasonable.

And around me…a hodge-podge of half-awake Scoobies and Uber Scoobies…at least the ones I can see.

The Original Red is currently coming to like a prizefighter that somehow LOST the prize.

And count them…THREE Taras… a Xander, one Little Bit, a single Anya …and one Danger…who is still snoring on the floor of the crypt with his snack-sized puppy curled up on his chest…

“ What’s going on…? What’s happening?” Red says…pushing herself up and propping her hands behind her… for the moment…completely unaware that she is barely wearing enough cotton to cover a swab.

I thing the potentially world-destroying YOU just did something monumentally stupid, Red.

Is what I think.

But I say:

“ Don’t panic.” And Red blinks at me dumbly then looks around…almost seeming disappointed that this was not all one big unfortunate dream and she wasn’t waking up snuggled next to her Blonde Ambition in a big cozy bed somewhere.

She looks around the room… taking in the oddly subdued scene… a crypt full of people sitting quietly…waiting for …something…to happen.

But what catches her attention the most is the bit in the corner…Blondie…the REAL Blondie…and Silly-Time Willow are off to the side…discussing something very intently…There heads are very close together, but not touching…. and Blondie’s back is to us…

I have to give Red some credit…even waking up cold, wet, and buck in a crypt full of people…and disoriented to all hell…I watch a flush rise to her cheeks … and her lips purse into a thin line…

The Redheaded witch is…jealous…

For all she knows the world has come to an untimely end…and still she’s got those green eyes fixed on her girlfriend and the Willow they’ve been calling Pippa.

As much as I’d LOVE to see a brawl to the finish between two Willows…I am much more interested in getting myself back to normal, and now that we are all basically awake…Blondie can explain it to us…

So I diffuse the moment with a clearing of the throat, and Tara turns from her intense chat with Pippa and catches sight of Red on the floor.

Sometimes I wonder if that blonde witch isn’t half-vampire…the way she moves from any spot in the known world…to Red so fast even I barely catch it.

“ You’re Awake!!!…honey…are you hurt? Did you hit your head? Are you okay???” She flutters about the redhead like a butterfly near a particularly dangerous flora… “ Spike…check her head…see if she has any…knots…or a fever…”

“ I’m dead…EVERYONE has a bloody fever to me…” I mutter…but move to put my hands in Red’s hair… to feel for bumps…

She shakes me off and looks incredulous and suspicious in one…a feat I have not seen on one face in all of my life…as well as the un-life portions….

“ Wha…wha…WHY are you having HIM touch me??? Why aren’t YOU TOUCHING ME, TARA???” Her voice gets this funny little high-pitched quality to it when she is coming close to a moment of panic. Any other time…I might have giggled fiendishly at the sound…but I refrain myself…don’t ask me why…

She looks around again…trying to gage the answer in the faces of the people around her. Nothing is given to her.

“ I…I can’t touch you, honey….” Tara tries to explain…not wanting to send her currently close-to- delirium girlfriend over the edge with the wrong word. “ But we’re working on it…we’re trying to figure out what’s going on…”

“ You can’t touch me? Can I touch you???” Willow says hopefully…

This IS Sunnydale…such ideas are not beyond the realm of the imagination I suppose…I give her points for the attempt…

But Blondie shakes her head…staying just beyond Red’s reach…knowing it would be a trip to the land of Nod for Red if she tried to reach out…and put a hand right through her lover…

“We CAN’T touch one another?” Red asks again…looking for clarification…and unsuccessfully staving off a fresh wave of panic.

“ But we will.” Blondie nods tearfully…trying to smile…trying to instill encouragement.

I can see Red shutting down…I think even before Blondie catches it. The flush that had graced her features seems to slip into the background as a sickly shade of ashen takes over.

“ But tomorrow is DATE NIGHT.” Red says…her eyes glassy as she contemplates a Date Night without the ability to touch Blondie…she stares past us…to the wall of the crypt…to the cemetery beyond…and possibly into infinity…

Yes…the balance of the world has been cock-eyed, and the plains of existence skewed beyond recognition or repair…and the most important thing falls again to the perpetuation of Date Night….

Well at least we have our priorities straight.

Ladies and Gentlemen…our Dear Red has gone bye-bye, I believe…

I watch as Pippa points an overly-enthusiastic finger at Willow.

“ YOU are preaching to the choir, Sister…” She says.

First off, wonderful update!! :) YAY! But poor Willow, finally going off the deep end... and doing it in her underwear. :lol

And a loose end, you say? Somewhere around the Fair portion... the carnival? Hm. Well in my re-reading frenzy, I am currently right in the middle of the carnival part. So I shall endeavor to keep a wary eye out for this wandering loose end... see if I can find it. :)

Oh wait... I just thought of something. Could it be a certain someone who helped them in return for a favor later on?

Hm.
