Willow and Tara Art

Postby Lizbian » Mon Apr 15, 2002 12:34 am

I have some new "once more, with feeling" art pieces for the sims made. Some of them have positively frightening frames, some of them don't. Here are the different screen caps (thanks to Extra Flamey and Stain and Varnish) I used:

OMWF 1

OMWF 2

Hello everyone! I've been reading through all 35 pages of this thread today (can you tell it's a slow day at work?)... I've been playing Sims for awhile, I might be able to answer questions you guys have. I'm a big btvs'r and am working on a neighborhood devoted soley to Sunnydale.. so it's taking a bit of my time and I had run across this place cause it showed up in a google search.

I read you guys talking about how it sucked because Willow and Tara couldn't marry. I remembered that I had downloaded something that allowed same sex couples to marry and came across it today, so I thought I'd give you guys the link.

If you go to this page and download the marriage hack and download it into the folder it says to, it will work.

jennirv4967...sorry to interrupt the SIMS talk, but I think you're probably going to have to edit your sig, as pictures like that aren't usually allowed. Or at least, that's what I think. Sigs are usually restricted to 3 lines of text. Font to be no bigger than the font on the board text.

Laura Chase (see above) makes the best W/T sims skins around, I think. Then there's Faithtastic (see below) but I find her heads a bit wonky.

www.spiderplant.fsnet.co.uk/sims.html

If you're gonna be hardcore about it, go to the sims resource http://www.thesimsresource.com If you have the membership, go to celebrity females and there's a lot of buffy stuff. (like the OMWF skins). Otherwise, just wade through the skins page without the search option. (which is a pain, but fairly worth it)

For objects, just kind of look around on this thread.

summer vacation photos

Postby Star Pixie » Wed May 01, 2002 1:21 pm

well, the day before yesterday i was getting really bored so i forced Willow to get a military job so i could raise enough money for the family to go on a vacation. I took them to the middle-sized forest retreat. Here's some snapshots of the trip:

Before they even leave, Willow convinces the family to go by telling them the story of the boot she found with the metal detector on their last vacation.

Willow and Tara try out some archery. Willow won everytime and got some tickets. I'm convinced that SimVacation is trying to lure my family into frequent vacations just so we'll buy crappy souvenirs with the tickets from the games. So far, we have 2 coconut monkeys and an old boot.

Tara finds $14 using the metal detector. She's so happy, she kicks her foot up in the air. She found $6 later on. I was really proud of her, until I remembered it cost $45 just to rent the damned thing.

You mean you’re not using the money cheat? My respect for you knows no bounds – I lasted about two weeks without it. ;)

I love the pics! The girls do seem to gravitate toward the metal detector, don’t they? On every trip, one of the first things they did was go to the shack to rent one.

BTW, I also loved the Tara portrait on your living room wall in the first pic. Very nice!

Thanks for posting them. :)

Re: summer vacation photos

Postby Star Pixie » Wed May 01, 2002 4:32 pm

scout, don't respect me too much! i didn't rosebud at all for a while, but once they had their kids, i cheated so much so they could have a respectable house and enough furniture for them all to sleep, eat, shower, and pee at once. then i quit cheating. They get by with Tara's job as a tarot card reader. Willow usually doesn't work because she's always getting fired. I can't figure out why. When she works, she's a hacker, but once she gets up to the 2nd or 3rd promotion, she just keeps getting fired, even if she goes to work in an excellent mood and doesn't skip any days. Oh well.

You like the Tara portrait? You should see the whole house. My roommates think it's sick. My brother's house is worse. He's obsessed with WWF and he's got Angel and The Rock living together and the decoration in there is AWFUL!

I wish I could stop cheating Star but I try to build a house at the beginning of the game but I end up running out of money. Maybe I try to play again without cheating, I'm sure it would be better.

I must say I love the picture of Tara on the wall.

Great pictures Star Pixie!

Sims help

Postby QuOS » Fri May 03, 2002 12:05 am

I was hoping that I could get some help from someone a little more technical minded than myself.

I've had the Sims for ages, but haven't played it in a while. After reading through some of this thread I decided to buy the Livin' Large expansion pack, download some skins and have a little fun :)

But after I installed Livin' Large (and it didn't say there was any problems with it) I only seem to have about 5 extra objects, and the whole game is acting a little unstable. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it a few time but I keep having the same problem. I even went so far as to go back to the store and exchange it for a new copy, alas to no avail. Can anyone help me out here?

Go crazy?? Don't mind if I do!!

I say it will work on ME, it probably just forgot to mention it, I know the original works on it so I can't see why it wouldn't.

Anyways I got a question for people:

A long time ago I built water going down the middle of one of my lots and I don't remember how I did it but anyways now I want to erase the water but I can't figure out how.

Anyone know how to erase a pond, water stream or whatever??

Please help!

On the EA support site, they had an answer to this question:

I installed LL, but it looks like the same old The Sims. Why? What do I do?

Some users report installing the Sims Livin' Large, but get no multiple neighborhoods, no new walls, no new floors, and the only objects they get are the downloads that were included in Livin' Large. Some users also report seeing the new Livin' Large objects in Buy mode, but not in Live mode.

This generally occurs when a user has installed an unauthorized 3rd-party patch or other modification to the game's executable code. The Sims Livin' Large only installs properly on legitimate, unaltered versions of The Sims executable. Objects, skins, walls, floors and such have no effect on this; it is only patches to the game's executable code which cause this problem.

We have also had reports of this occurring when no changes have been made to the executable, but we have not yet isolated the cause of the problem in these cases.

You must uninstall and reinstall The Sims, then reinstall The Sims Livin' Large. If this does not correct the problem, download the Livin' Large install fixer. After installing The Sims Livin' Large, run the install fixer.

This is NOT a game patch, and should NOT be used if your game is functioning properly. It simply completes the installation process in cases where a technical problem has prevented proper installation.

Download Install Fixer - 2.37MB

If you created it with the water cheat, then try this:

How do I delete a pond I created with the water cheat?

To delete water just make sure you are in the build mode and click on the water icon as if you were going to place a swimming pool, then open the text window and type in the water_tool code. Then while holding down the Ctrl button on your keyboard click on any water you want to erase and it will be removed.

Postby superZONic » Sat May 04, 2002 9:32 am

Got 2 probs if anyone can help me out..

1) Keep downloading Laura Chase's Spike skin into the skins dir but when i try to put him together and stick him in a house neither his head nor body shows up in the sims people builder. I've downloaded Will, Tara, Anya, Giles and Xander just fine but i cant get Spike to work. Any ideas?

2) The LC Tara skin i guess is built upon a "fat" mesh (which i personally like to call the click*pop*pow mesh) and her wardrobe seems very limited. I thought i found a couple of decent extra outfits for her and downloaded them to the skins file but when i get her to change her clothes with the wardrobe, only the hideous original biggirl ensembles come up. I dont want to be dressing my girl like Michaels mother on Queer as Folk so dudes, HELP. Im just assuming that the dressers are filled with clothes from the skin file but i really dont know jack about skins or meshes, what comes from where and goes how, so any tips would be appreciated!

update on kissy's willow and tara

Postby Star Pixie » Mon May 06, 2002 3:07 pm

Well, it's just another day in the sim lives on my willow and tara. i didn't get the computer all morning due to my girlfriend's sims having a baby. she spent the whole morning redoing her house. She invited Willow and Tara over to meet the new kid though. Here are some pics from my neck of the woods.

A couple months ago, Tara and Willow bought a rocket launcher. Tara fired it once and now she fires it every day when she comes home from work without fail. It's kind of nuts. Luckily, she hasn't caught anything on fire yet.

Willow and Tara's kids, Gareth and Franka, watch old home movies of their moms. Note the photos of Aly and Amber up on the walls of their home. I went crazy with the Sims Art Studio a while ago.

I networked and networked and got Willow up to Astronaut in the military career. (Remember the one I made her get in order to pay for their most recent vacation??) Unfortunately, she wears the spacesuit around the house all the effin' time. She's a general now, so she's back to her camoflauged gear. Thank god, it was getting hard for Tara to kiss her.

Top Thread!

Postby Kitty K » Mon May 06, 2002 6:37 pm

I came across this thread today - laughed my arse off for two hours straight going through it. I spent the rest of the afternoon downloading tons of btvs skins (and a Janeway and Seven for good measure) and I'll be getting my copy of the sims tomorrow. *grin*

By the way, there are some great btvs/angel sims here:

www.geocities.com/la_ange...tigations/

and here:

www.geocities.com/sunnydale_magicbox/

But you have to download them quickly because the site frequently overdoes it with the bandwidth. The Angel one includes quite a few of Fred, too!

Also some good recent ones here, including OMWF Tara:

www.geocities.com/simskin...gels3.html

I'm none too fussy on Faithtastic's skins, but I like her Tara's face. Nice and pouty. :D

I can't believe I'm actually this excited about getting a computer game - I'm such a saddo!

superZONic: I haven’t used it, but Sims Wardrobe sounds like one way you might be able to change the Sims outfits if you’re having problems doing it in the game. Might be worth checking out.

Star Pixie: I love the pics! Willow in the spacesuit is too funny! Tara seems to really like the rocket launcher in my game, too. Thanks for posting these. :)

Kitty K: Thanks for the links - they had some skins I haven’t seen before. Good stuff!

more pics (i know, i'm nuts)

Postby Star Pixie » Wed May 08, 2002 12:53 pm

well, willow and tara took their kids on vacation. only 1 or 2 of the pics they took came out that well, but i decided to share some from their archives.

Willow proves she really can swing that damned troll hammer AND look effin' good in her swimsuit at the same time.

Tara tries out the slide at the hotel's pool.

One morning, the dishwasher broke, so everyone pitched in to help Maid Big Tits Hillier clean the kitchen.

That evening, when Tara was off reading tarot cards in SimVille, Willow decided to grill burgers for the kids. Unfortunately, it did not go quite as planned...

Finally, after a long day, our girls kiss and go to bed. Note the extra flamey candle on Tara's side. (After a lot of training, they sleep on their proper sides of the bed without prompting.)
