Autumn, my love, I am so glad that I, of all people was able to turn you Recently Gay. Though once you see my video, you may wish to be recently un-gay or un-lesbian or just laying off the lesbian witchy sex stuff entirely... ;)

At the risk of sounding like Joss, I have give you what you need, not what you want. Actually it's what I need... this video is my favorite video. As soon as I heard the song, I dropped everything else I was working on to tackle this one.

And here is where I am going to really sound like Joss. I really struggled with the ending of this one, it would have been very easy to not end it how I did. Few seconds off the end, no one would know any better. Except for me.

I tell stories with my videos, it's important to me that I say the things I want to say. Whether you all get every little thing or not, I need to say these things.

But this video is very important to me. It's funny because before I had completed this video yesterday, I was trying to figure out which of my videos I liked best. I didn't really have any clear favorites. Maybe Twilight because that was a very personal video, as is this one. But once I finished this, and I saw the ending. I dunno, I am rambling, but I am extremely proud of this video.

Oh Rally. I loved this vid. I'm sorry I wasn't there to beta it for you when you needed me. I really think the ended needed to be like this. It's an amazing vid to go with an amazing song.

Somehow I can't seem to open the zipfile once I've downloaded it....

It keeps telling me it's a corrupt zipfolder or something...

Do you have any idea if I'm doing something wrong perhaps??

LittleM, sounds like the file is not properly downloading, on your end, most problems with corrupt zip files is if the archive is not in tact.

Hey guys, ermm, Gals....Rally I just wanted to mention that my gf and I went to the DFP (Disfuntional Family Picnic)concert in Jones Beach hosted by KRock. GREAT concert, lasted the whole day!! Incubus, Papa Roach and Korn were just a few performers there. I'm in Florida now (vacation)...anyway, I wanted to mention that Jimmy Eats World was also there and they performed "The Middle", so guess what I was thinking about? HA...it was cool as hell...well, enjoy all....I'll be checking for a new vid... :D

Jimmy Eats World is a great little band and they are starting to make it big. I actually saw pictures from that concert when I was surfing around this weekend.

My local station plays The Middle and First Date, quite a lot, and it still brings a smile to my face. Cause all I ever think about now is Willow and Tara when I hear those songs. It always makes my day. Glad you think the same tkheaven.

Just wanted to show my appreciation for these fantastic videos. Downloaded "Somewhere out there" and love, love, love it. I think "That Kind of Love" may still be my favorite. I even went out and brought an Allison Kraus CD yesterday (I did have to wear a disguise in case someone saw me buying a country album - not that its not a valid lifestyle choice - its just not mine).

Rally, your videos are amazing! I have seen almost all of them now and love them all, but I just watched the I'm Too Sexy Remix...it was just what I needed, to remember that even with all the angst and bitterness and sadness of Season Six, BTVS is a dang funny show, and W/T have so many sweet moments.

I loved all the successive shots of Anya eating. I was also most affected by Somewhere Out There; you have such an ear for good music.

Thanks for all your hard work. I now have a mental soundtrack running of all your vid songs. Can't wait to see more.

Oh, and p.s. I never realized until watching your vids that Willow is almost never without a necklace. I never realized that before.

Amber by 311

Postby Rally » Sun Jun 16, 2002 3:59 pm

Ok, this is new video is a bit of a departure for me, so I hope you all like. The song is Amber by 311, so from the title you can probably guess what the video is about.

Guess what, it's a mellow vid, I promise no tears, no angst or dead bodies in this one. But there is also no story to this video, just kind of a put on some incense and watch some clips kinda vid.

At any rate, links in the top post shortly, there is going to be a delay in the real media version, cause my video software is acting up.

Enjoy, feedback welcome, as always.

This one's for Amber.

311 is a great little band and how could I pass up the chance to do a song called Amber?

Also I have been neglecting season five and wanted to do something exclusively from that season.

Fantastic, Rally. You got all her most adorable facial expressions from 5. It's great to have them all in one place.

That song. God. It's playing on a loop in my head. An excellent choice.

Re: Video - Hero

Postby BytrSuite » Tue Jun 18, 2002 7:10 pm

Okay, I'm playing catch-up here. Slowly but surely.

Your Hero video is amazing Rally. That song is perfect. The lyrics do make all the difference. The images fit almost disturbingly well on this one. And of course you matched them up for maximum effect. All that killing and blood spilling. Damn. Thanks for including the lyrics, btw, they really did help.

Re: Video - Hero

Postby Rally » Tue Jun 18, 2002 7:55 pm

Always had been my intention to add the lyrics, but I often forget. I am working on webpages for my site with all the lyrics and breakdown of the clips I used for all my vids. Hero was a suprise for me, I had it in my head a few weeks in advance of Two to Go and Villians airing and had to wait to get those clips. I believe it is one of my stronger videos, definetly and you do need to know the lyrics for this one, to understand the message.

I also find it ironic, on the radio the other day the DJ was saying how now for like sporting champions and such, this song was going to probably be used a lot. Where as to me this song (and my video) is about not waiting around for the Hero (Xander) to come safe the day.

Re: New Video - Epiphany

Postby BytrSuite » Thu Jun 20, 2002 2:19 am

Oooh, a webpage will be awesome.

Heh, yeah that is pretty damn ironic for that song to be used like that in regard to sporting champs et al. And I thought everyone listened to the lyrics nowadays. Hee.

Okay.

Epiphany was really, really powerful too. You just really nail the whole matching images to the lyrics thing. I mean, if I sat here and tried to write down every single scene that corresponded perfectly with the lyrics at x point in the song, I'd probably have a huge half a page of a post. Again the lyrics really helped in this one, too.

Forget all the things I should have said, and then to Tara asking Will if they could just skip all of that and get to the best parts. That was really good. Words disappearing and you have Willow sucking the words off the dark magic books pages. And the little kid inside crying out for attention while showing Xander, Warren, Andrew and Jonathan. Loved you showing Xander kicking that stupid gnome. Then Giles talking like he's talking to little kids. Pretty freaking brilliant, Rally. Geez, you really had a streak of painful images those last several moments, huh? The ending shot of the body bag was the clincher. Painful in the extreme to watch , but so good that I can't not watch. Excellent video, as always.

Re: New Video - Epiphany

Postby Rally » Thu Jun 20, 2002 3:12 pm

Glad you liked it Kathy, I do spend a lot of time clips to match up with the lyrics. Most of the time, I will listen a song and some lyrics will catch my attention. Like in Here the "world full of killing, and blood spilling" is a perfect example. Then I will listen to the entire song and figure whether or not I can spin the entire thing as a video.

With Epiphany, I wanted to do it for the title alone. But once I had listened to the lyrics, I knew it was perfect to explore the end of the season. The ending I felt needed to be necessarily harsh, to contrast with the Epiphay of Buffy desciding to live. Along with Xander suddenly being there for Willow in contrast with his not being there for Anya.

------------

Well officially, of course, I have to say that I have no idea what you're talking about.
