Soul Poetry

Postby VicariousSmoochies » Thu Jul 17, 2003 4:43 pm

This is something I had been working on a while ago and thought I would post it here, as a new forum of creative efforts. I have someone in my life who feeds my heart and soul...I am blessed. Feedback welcome, of course, and I thank you for reading!

Strength

Radiance of color

Green, gold and blue

Reflects majesty

Casts intensity.

Because there is

Strength in her eyes.

Blissful oceans

Tugging the shores

And fathomless tides

Bring currents strong.

Because there is

Strength in her soul

Seeking safe harbor

In the soul I found

Lilting harmonies

Perfect a song.

Because there is

Strength in her voice

Tearing and tugging

My consciousness bleeds

Healing this wound

My mind shall break

Because there is

Strength in her heart

Together we build.

Resurrect what fell.

Two will prevail

And she’ll hold me strong

Because there is

Strength in her arms.

Thank you Kiwi6969! I've read your poetry and have immensely enjoyed it...and I'm about to leave a note for you!

Thank you, SJ, for being posting feedback...you've always left such encouraging notes!

Onyxsundrops, (love that name, too,) and I also say thank you for taking the time to read. I love your story on the boards so you taking a moment to leave your thoughts is lovely.

So....here I go again.

Here's an older one. This was about being in a relationship where you had no voice, no thoughts...you were young and naive and governed by another, higher voice...then maturity sets in and you say, "Hey! Enough!"

You painted your words

With strokes

Of wisdom

I colored mine

In this child’s

fairy kingdom.

Intensity and pain

Are memories sought.

Simplicity I found

In places you forgot.

Sugar brimmed lines

To sweeten the rhymes,

But the dancing words

Upon your pages,

Are empty and lost

In white paper cages.

When each labored breath

Comes ragged,

Unclean.

My own sparse words

are foreign to me.

I have listened to you

For the voice I lacked

Until one day soon,

I’ll tell you

exactly

how I feel.

A ghostly darkness

invaded within

and this was your path

which lit my way.

When the collapse

of us

comes too soon

I’ll seek comfort

In the sound

Of me.

What are....

What do words mean?

How do you hear another?

They can be said by many

So overused

So misunderstood

They can blame and hurt

They can calm and heal.

But the best of writers

and

the best of speakers

may or may not

understand

that words are power

and best not abused.

I have to tell you that I was blown away by your poems. The intensity, the emotion, and the sheer depth to them is just amazing. The imagery as well, is profound. I can only wait for another poem from you.

Your poems are great to hear. You use short phrases to say a great deal.

Soul Poetry in action

Postby VicariousSmoochies » Wed Aug 13, 2003 12:49 am

Ah, again, I thank those who have left a note here to let me know what you thought of these poems!

Sam7777 ~ You are just wonderful! Thanks for the props on the Pens board to tell others to visit here! For someone who is not usually into poetry, I'm so honored that you choose to read mine... :)

SJ ~ I'm happy you enjoyed the ramblings of a muse with way too much time on her hands.

Ten10239 ~ I also am happy that you left me a note, considering your own poetry is deep, soulful and heartfelt. So, my hat's off to you!

With that, I'll attempt another ittle wittle one. This one is painful...it's about when someone you love leaves...and the trust they place in you at the start gives way to dishonesty and deceiving when they want to go away.

--------------------------------------

The hour draws closer

to when

you should have been here.

I know what this is

and it hurts.

What you're doing

is wrong,

and you choose

to look in

all directions

but the one I'm facing.

Have I not deserved more?

Did I not earn

your honesty?

In a world full of

misuse and abuse,

I had assumed more

from you.

But you're nothing special

and it hurts.

You're nothing to me now

but the very pain

I sought to avoid.

In the recesses

of an empty heart,

I find solace to say,

I hope

you regret

your thoughtless actions.

*whew!* that was intense....

Soul poems

Postby VicariousSmoochies » Sat Aug 16, 2003 10:17 pm

SJ and onyxsundrops ~~ Thank you so kindly for the feedback of the last post. It's humbly appreciated very much!

Here's another from the depths of a stricken muse.

--------------------------------

Pulling apart

the remains of what I feel

I am burdened

and overwhelmed

to feel

lonely at best.

To what

condolences

can I offer

here

or do I give credit

for losing myself

like I always do.

Broken again,

I struggle

and thrash

in my mire of self doubt,

incomplete at love

in this stage of life.

I know

I must find the

wholeness of me

because somebody

said that

I am greater

than the sum

of my parts.

So,

someone...

Please tell me

where do I begin?
