Inside me

A battle rages inside me.
I fight for every step, every breath.
My enemy is cunning, and ruthless.
They cause damage to me with every word, and action.
The strength that I possessed wasn't real.
Sleep won't come, and food is rancid.
I think I know my enemys name, I call it.
There is no answer.
In my waking nightmares, I catch sight of this monster.
It has my face, but it's eyes are cruel compared to mine.
No wonder I can't escape the constant barrage of pain.
I know all my weaknessess, and secrets.
I call out for it to stop...Please!
I can only hope that I can find a peaceful place inside me.
