Me - I drive a dark red (they call it salsa) 2003 Pontiac Vibe. It's really cute and has all these compartments and power outlets and stuff.

Darcy drives a light metallic blue 1996 Mercury Sable. It has way too much power - cars just shouldn't move when you take your foot off the brake, should they? It freaks me out so I only drive it in the driveway.

We still own our 1986 dark blue Chevy Nova hatchback which gave up after 350,000+ miles. It is still sitting on the mechanic's lot where it limped back in August. Funny thing, none of the donate-your-car organizations is at all interested in it. What a great little car.

Hello Kittens-

Oddly enough, I don't ride a jixer (Suzuki GSX-R). Not with this body. My Honda Elite 150 scooter has given up the ghost so I'm in a Ford Escort wagon. Could be worse. Could be an Aspire.

I drive a 1987 toyota celica with a messed up paintjob and a kick ass system. She may be old, but damnit, Lola has some get up and go to her. I'm currently on a project to cure her of the minor case of skin cancer she had and then make her pretty and shiny again. My only complaint about that car is the fact that the steering is rack and pinion instead of belt so eventually I'll be out power steering.

I have a 2002 Toyota 4runner. A lease, I love leasing, i leased 2 saturns previously, before that an isuzu impulse and a toyota tercel. I am thinking of keeping this car though, I really like it. I don't think I want anything smaller than a truck from now on .

I have a hunter green V6 Toyota Tacoma SR5 4x2. I love my truck. I'm leasing though and now I wish I was buying. My dad and the salesman talked me into leasing 'cause I won't want the truck by the time the lease is up I'll want something new. That is probably right but now I am thinking at least I wouldn't have any more car payments. Oh well. And I'm with you Xita about nothing smaller than a truck. This weekend I had my car in service so I had a rental car. A dodge neon. It felt so odd being so low to the ground.

dear God, I'm here..I'm here.

She (abby) goes like snot (really well) must be the twin carbs under the hood. Abby drives all the boys wild and some of the girls too.

Who said size matters? All good things come in small packages, she's just not so good to make out in...hehehe though I haven't tried :wink

Yeah baby! The chicks go wild for my small and reasonably-priced, second-hand 2 door car that I can't drive unsupervised yet, and that doesn't actually belong to me.

A light blue 1992 Toyota Corolla which will reach the 200,000 mile mark in about another week or so. I think it might be time to start looking for a new one pretty soon.

I have a spiffy little hybrid bike, which handles both the road and the trails quite well. It's gloss black (cool, but shows all the dirt).

If my 2-wheeler isn't right for the task of getting me around, I use my own two feet or ride the red rocket.

I have a white 88 Honda Accord. Nobody believes it's that old, since it's in a such good shape and *knock on wood* never gives me any trouble. :)

But I can't wait to finish college so I can get a new car, probably a Ford Escape.

I drive a 1997 Ford Ranger XL. Its my first truck and I love it. At first I thought it wouldn't suit my personality (I'm not what most would call a truck person).

This is my 4th vehicle and I'm only 20. I totaled out my first car (a '93 Blazer), my friend totaled my next car, and the following was a POS that I was lucky to get $500 for.

My grandfather gave me such a great deal on the truck I just couldn't turn it down. I've adapted and I don't think I've drive anything but a truck from this point on. I named her Josephine (Jo for short).

BTW - the one drawback to having a truck: everyone assumes you'd like to help them move.

Well, the odometer on my classic '92 Corolla went over 200,000 miles today. I guess I'll have to find something to do to celebrate this momentous occasion. Maybe I'll take it through the drive-through at McDonalds. :party

Yup, I used to drive a 'Vette'. I tell everyone when they ask me what my first car was. It was a 'Vette'. Yep.

Perhaps I should say a 'Chevette' just to be more clear?

I've moved up from that and drive a 2000 Nissan Altima...dang, I missed the new models by 6 months!

:lol 'Vette! That's great. I drove a Chevette briefly once. It loved to wait until I was trapped in bumper-to-bumper 1 mph traffic and decide it was going to just live in 4th gear forever and ever and ever. Bitch. The only car I don't miss one bit.

I miss my '84 Accord. She was a good car. She's still out there...somewhere. I hope she's happy and they're taking good care of her.

I feel ridiculous getting attached to inanimate objects that way, but I can't help it.

Heh, reminds me of both of my 1985 Honda CRXs (god rest their little mini-souls :pray )....I pushed those babies beyond the 300,000 mile marks and they STILL ran until the day I had to give them up because they were rusting straight through the chassis :cry

Hi Maudmac!

I'm impressed your 'vette' got into 4th gear. Mine barely made it out of second. I went faster in it rolling downhill with the engine off. It was most definitely a piece o' crap. However, being stuck in bumper to bumper traffic with a chevette roaring in 4th gear would frighten the tar out of me! Were you afraid of it exploding?

Postby maudmac » Fri Jun 20, 2003 9:48 pm

You know, now that you mention it, rolling it downhill with the engine off was sometimes the only way to get it to start. :lol The rest of the time, there was an elaborate ritual I had to do that involved this weird sort of dance with the clutch and the gas pedal. :sigh Hunk o' poo car.

Nah, I wasn't afraid of it exploding so much as I was afraid it would just give up the ghost one day when I was far from home and leave me stranded. I think I was actually more afraid, though, of the car I had before that, because it did some really interesting things when I turned left at more than 5 mph.

Since I've had Hondas, all has been right in the world.
