What did you get for Christmas MKF? 12-26-2005

Postby Jennpurr » Mon Dec 26, 2005 1:37 pm

One of my other message boards had started a thread like this and I thought it was cool. It's cool to read about what other people recieve for Christmas. So... what did Santa bring you?

I'll start.

I haven't had a complete Christmas celebration yet. We are going to my parents house tomorrow. I'll have more presents to unwrap then, but so far my g/f bought me these:

- Queer as Folk Season 1 DVD
- The L Word Season 2 DVD
- Oz Season 1 DVD
- Oz Season 2 DVD
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix (Hardcover)
- Shadow of the Colossus PS2 game

We treated ourselves to a movie yesterday. We went and saw Memoirs of a Geisha. Excellent movie. We enjoyed it very much. That's one DVD I'll have to add to my collection. I saw the book the other day at my store. I think I might buy it today when I go in so I can read it.

Christmas was spent with friends, and my group got together on Christmas Eve for a party/gift exchange. There was lots of small stuff, but my favourites were:
1. The Werewolf Oz figure (I have a Seth Green obsession, but don't worry, I still like Tara more :x )
2. A Captain Oats shirt
3. The Postsecret book
4. The Kevin Smith on Degrassi story arc on DVD

This year turned out better then I had hoped! The one thing I really wanted was a PlayStationPortable (PSP) and I didn't think I would get it, but I did! It's definatly the coolest thing Ive ever seen, you can browse the internet with it so I spent alot of the day configuring the internet and going on myspace.com hehe

Out of all the things I got, new bedding and room things included, a Fall Out Boy Sweatjacket, ect, the PSP is by far the greatest!

I was really excited that I got some stuff for christmas because I really wasn't suppose to but here are my favorites:

Josh Groban self-titled Cd. I'm totally obsessed with him and I was so happy to get this from my sister.

A cast-Iron skillet. A must have for anyone who loves to cook. I was so excited because I was looking for one for weeks now and couldn't find one but my mom got me one for christmas.

A couple of other things that I really thought exciting because my girl and I could totally put them to use:
A shower radio, a bath pillow, a massager and some lotion. woo hoo for fun!

I didn't get anything for Christmas, unless you count the dvds i bought for myself. Otherwise... i didn't get anything from anyone for Christmas. I bought a bottle of Christmas themed wine for the girl i like, dvds for my parents and aunts, for office colleagues.

I got a new Notebook for Christmas, two boxes of chocolate, a couple really cute photo albums (I'm a scrapbook whore) and a new journal! (I don't even use the five I already have...hehehe) :party

Because I'm still really excited about the gifts I got this year it's really making it hard for me to remember that Christmas is about more than getting really great gifts; it's about family, friends, and most importantly, that it's better to give than to receive.

I hope everyone had a very wonderful and happy holiday! :-D

Christmas is so fun! I love going shopping for things to give people and I have to admit I get filled with this over whelming excitement when I can finally rip the wrapping paper off all the presents that have been taunting me for a few weeks.

Although I've come to realise I'm spoilt :blush

From mum;
CD player
'Dove' exfoliating gift set
A 'Me To You' bear cross stitch set.
Play Station Portable.... PSP.
A little mini coin sorter. (because I hord change :lol)
A trinket box that's also a photo frame.
Soft winciette Pyjamas.

From family;
A really cute teddy bear that is now called 'Dasher' :geek
A huge dolphin/indian type of jigsaw puzzle. (really pretty)
A set of 'Boots' facial beauty stuff :eyebrow
A travel jewellery box.
Kelly Clarkson album.
Large Jewellery box.

From friends;
A bottle of WKD fully equipt with devil horns and fork thing.
A bottle of Vodka with a really cool glass.
A box of Ferrero Roche chocolates.
A bag of Marshmellows :lol

From her;
Special edition Buffy box set thing with every series.
Flannelette bedding.
Pair of really nice earings.

See, I'm so spoilt and that's only the beginning because it's my 21'st birthday in a week. :ashamed

I hope everybody had a great Christmas/holiday :x

I got lots for Christmas (the advantage of having a large family), some DVDs, CDs, pyjamas, slippers, chocolates, alarm clock, clothes, books... But, the absolute BEST present that I received (after a singing Eeyore - 'cos I'm a big kid), was The Complete Chronicles of Narnia: Gift Edition, it's beautiful, all 7 stories & original illustrations (in color), in it's own sleeve to protect it, with golden lettering on the cover & gold edged pages. :D

Okay, I've finished gushing now.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with lots of fun & happiness. :)

Ok, first of all, Jennpurr, your avvie rocks. :)

For Christmas, I got a lot of practical stuff, like new sneakers, (which I really needed, my other pair have holes in them) gloves, a really pretty scarf. I also got some earrings and a mini scrapbook so I can make it all pretty with the pictures from my school trip to Disney in November. :) and my friend got a new cellphone, which is kinda like a gift to me, because now I can just randomly text her and call her again. :)

I got socks too! I mostly got little things from everyone like a chicken little PEZ candy despencer and a scratch tickets. The things I find most worth mentioning is a printer and a pair of pants (both things I desperatly needed).

I got a Nintendo Game Cube from my mom. She got one recently, and we play when I go to visit (love Mario Golf), so it's cool to have my own. And she go me Pac-Man Fever to go with it. So, I know what's gonna be my next obsession.

Ooooh... an avatar compliment. Thank you very much! I didn't know if anyone would know who she was. Have you seen the Don't Cha video?

She's hot!

Anyway... sorry for getting sidetracked there. Couldn't help myself. Thanks again.

Well, we had Christmas with my parents and my Aunt tonight. I was disappointed with what they got me this year; only three things on my list and none of them what I really wanted, but I guess I can't be picky. Christmas isn't about presents anyway. God has blessed me this year, so I'm thankful.

What I got from my parents and my Aunt:

Harry Potter 4 PC Game Collection set
A nice down blanket
Two dress shirts and two pairs of dress pants
Zoo Tycoon 2 PC Game
A gift card for Walmart
A 6 pack of blank VCR tapes (We go through alot of them)
A DVD

That's all I can remember.

My Aunt gave me and my baby a combined gift. It's a set of rotating picture frames. They will come in handy.

My dad bought us a 3 shelf bookcase.

My birthday is right around the corner though, so maybe that will make up for a somewhat disappointing Christmas. My baby is the only one who actually put thought into what she was getting for me.

I love you, angel.

We're going to see Brokeback Mountain tomorrow. I can't wait. We might be the only females in the theater, but hey... I don't mind.

As a sidenote, gay boys are so cute. Last night at work, 2 young guys came to my line. They were holding hands. The stupid lady in front of them, kept looking behind her and rolling her eyes and sighing. Stupid homophobic middle-aged white woman. She pissed me off.

Anyway... as I was saying: They were cute and they smiled at me in acknowledgement. My stupid lips couldn't seem to get the words, "You two are cute," out before they had left though. Oh well...

Sorry for rambling.

God is good.

To prove how dull my life is, my most useful present was a bottle of shampoo from my granny. She had even left on the "Reduced in the Sale" sticker.

It would appear that I am worth 52p to her. At todays rates, that's apparently about 89 US cents. Woo Hoo.

Dude. Total late poster = me.

Well I got a box FULL of Buffy books. Seriously, I'm up to my armpits in paperbacks. Its AWESOME.

I also got:

- Eurotrip on DVD (yay Michelle Trachtenberg!)
- Donnie Darko on DVD (seriously one of the coolest movies ever)
- Ghostbusters 1&2 boxset DVDs ("Listen! You smell that?")
- Way too much candy
- Green Toesocks (I swear, my toes were never meant to be green)
- A bottle of homemade maple syrup (Courtesy of my friend. I just HAD to make pancakes the next day in celebration.)
- $25 CDN to spend on ebay (Which I spent on Buffy action figures. I was pissed cause I couldn't afford the Willow/Tara forever set, so I settled for a Spike.)
- A brand spanking new sketchbook
- A plain white pillowcase. Yeah. (Love you Grandpa.:crazy)

So it was a pretty neat haul this year.
A vague disclaimer is nobody's friend.

My aunt and uncle visited today and brought my Christmas presents from their family. About time too!

My aunt and uncle gave me a very girly handbag (for the third year in a row).
My cousins and their children gave me a photo album - despite the fact that every time I see them I have the same conversation about how I don't own a camera.

Never mind. I think they liked the baguette shaped bread board with knife notches to aid with slicing. If they didn't, they faked it very well...

What a great Christmas, MKF! Mrs. Gorn got me a guitar, a Grand Ole Opry Special down in Nashville. I've been dinking around on a cheap Fender Strat knockoff ever since I moved here, and I probably haven't even touched that for at least half a year. I'd been talking about getting a new guitar - a decent guitar, probably an acoustic - and start playing again, but I never thought Mrs. Gorn would actually go out and get one, particularly as she doesn't know the first thing about guitars. I don't know who she talked to (she says Santa), but she picked out a good one.

I got her a Nintendo DS and an Olympus digital camera. She found out you can use Japanese software on an American DS (no region code, apparently). Some of her friends sent her some games and software that helps you study for English proficiancy tests ... so I pretty well had to get her the DS to run them. The camera was a surprise, though.

Anyone else out there get anything good? I hope Santa was good to you this year - unless, of course, you were naughty.

Santa blessed my mum with excellent choices in prezzies this year (my list helped, mum doesn't know what a PS2 is)

So I got Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Remix and Gran Turismo 4.

And I got mum some clothes (which she picked out and tried on) and my brother some xBox 1 games.

Oh and the best present was the 7 hours vomiting up everything I have ever eaten; last night. Was the drunkeness worth the pain and agony? Hell no. I don't think I'll ever buy a bottle of something again.

Let's see:

- long undies, which I actually really wanted. As a bonus they are silk and do something no pair of long underwear has ever done before: look somewhat nice on. Woo hoo, I'll be both warm and secretly stylish while I'm trudging around in the ice and muck.

- flannel pjs (apparently someone was sick of me stealing hers...)

- a big blanket for my bed. uber cozy.

- a check. one of my favorite kinda gifts.

- a hooded sweatshirt. always a good thing.

hmmm... I think there is something else I am forgetting... ah well.

*a case for my Sony camera
*a book (comic)
*soaps (what is it with soaps? why have I received some for my birthday and some for christmas? is there a thing I should know about my smell? Despite me being a redhead of course? lol)
*a Crément d'Alsace bottle.
*a wooden dolphin and a wooden rat.
