Update update update! :party

Update was great, but also heart-breaking. I liked the way you expressed a lot of feelings and happenings with one word ('empty'). That must be how Willow really feels now.

It will be interesting to see how you are going to fix the issues here. Surely scoobies eventually find Tara, but what happens after that? They really need to have a serious discussion, but is it enough? Now both of them have done something seriously inappropriate, and it could make things more complicated. I partly understand why Tara left, but it's harder to accept the way she did it, without saying a word or even leaving a note.

They can't just skip it this time, can they?

Interesting take on the "extra flamey candle" (it's like its own character, isn't it?) bit from "New Moon Rising". And by interesting I mean heartbreaking, and not at all what I wished for our girls.

Also, a big non-ironic funny that Willow feels "empty," while Tara probably doesn't. You know... a life growing inside her and all.

Go, Anya for always whacking the Scoobies upside the head with a big dose of "duh!"

Many (many) thanks for updating this story. I found it recently when someone bumped it with begging and pleading. :) Anyhow, it's wonderful. And really something extra special with all the little heartbreaking and adorable post-its.

I didn't really see a lot of that, unless you're just referring to Giles with her 'that was diplomatic' line. Which I loved. You know, I imagine Anya would actually know a lot about pregnancy.

Brilliant chapter. You're good at writing Xander, and your Buffy's alright too. I liked Willow holding the candle, and the 'statute of limitations for broken dates' line was very witty. I think the Yoko Factor argument could've used more arguing before culminating in The Big Reveal, because it came across as a little rushed, but still decent. I really loved the Giles-Anya scenes, and can't wait for an update.

:sob Noooooo!!!!! This update makes me a saaaaaad panda, especially after the last one. I just hope that Willow finds Tara and tells her how much she loves her before it's too late. And the candle in Willow's hand is the infamous extra flamey candle. Damn *tear* I just hope there is a happy ending and quick update! :pray

jeeez...

willow promised she'd be there, i know that promises were meant to be broken but a promise is still a promise, she's gonna follow through..

ohhh..if its this emotionally nerve wracking for willow, i soo dont want to read how tara's doing...(as if i wont read it.)

and

why do i have this feeling that anya knows where to find tara?
it always amazes me how bad my grammar is...

Monday...Tuesday...Tues...Tues...Tues...

...what did you do?

Your adaptation to season's 4 "The Yoko Factor" into your fic has brought your story to the nth level, I'm very impressed.

It takes a lot coming up with new story lines and integrating them with what was already done and very few know how to do it, and do it well...

...you do it well.

Willow's anguish was evident, the Scoobie's 'lack of friendship' was notable, Anya's and Giles's interaction was as we know it to be - clever and funny - no, I wouldn't say it was decent, it was GOOD!

The update had a nice flow to it. I know there are some that seem to think that it might have been rushed, but the Scoobies were never ones to hold on to grudges or fight for too long. It was nicely paced and well written.

Kuddos to you Tues, with the lack of updates to some of our favorite fics from some of our favorite writers, it's nice to know that you're still around.

Cheers.

I'm so happy we finally got the update, but I'm really sad at what
happened in it.
I certainly hope that they find Tara real soon.
I kinda have the feeling that Anya might be the one who finds her first.
Of course, I could be wrong, but she's a lot smarter than the Scoobies
give her credit for.
You gotta love Anya, though. She's so funny.

I hope that we don't have to wait so long for the next update.
More soon, please?
Loved it and can't wait for the next installment!

Words that pop into my head don't adequately express my gratitude for this update, and to you Tues for writing this story as a whole.....:: happy sigh ::

Of course...technically I'm not really in "happy sigh land" as far as the current state of our essential (and soon to be) mama witches...but I have faith in you Tues...patience and faith...!

Thanks again for the update and infinite pleading for the next installment! :pray

Tues,

This story is amazing. I love the way you wrote out Willow's reactions and emotions to Tara being gone.

The structure of this whole story is really great.

Now I remember why I loved it so much before. :grin

Re: Creation Myth

Postby Safuega » Tue Feb 05, 2008 8:23 pm

Hiya Tues,

Glad you like the avatar, I think Pan is a masterpiece and I love it dearly. I watch it every time it's on. I am also a fan of my boy Guillermo, him and the rest of the Mexican troika that swept through the film festivals last year -- Guillermo, Alfonso Cuaron and Inarritu. I see every movie they make. I've not seen the Orphanage yet, but that's by a young Spanish (?) filmmaker that Guillermo has chosen to support. It's supposed to be really good. I think it's still playing here in NYC, so hopefully I'll catch it soon.

And now for your story -- that was an interesting update. If you were trying to illustrate the confusion and fragmentation that Willow felt then I must say you succeeded. I like Buffy's and Xander's reaction, not to the pregnancy itself, but to the prospect that Willow might back out. Their reaction is so rooted in who they are as individuals, but it helps nudge Willow in the right direction.

I also liked that this update was not all about poor Willow. I do understand that her feelings are hurt and that this latest departure has brought all those feelings of abandonment to the fore, but this is bigger than Willow. This is about the baby and its future and you threaded delicately over what everyone who is not the pregnant party must think when the pregnant party assumes full responsibility for the situation and relieves the other party. I get that Willow could entertain the notion of just going back to the way things were, I mean, I sure as heck would if I was a teenager who got another teenager pregnant. But, I'm glad that Willow came down to reality and the task at hand, she is going to be a parent and now is the time to make good on that desire to be there for that kid.

Your use of Anya was interesting, you popped her in there just for a little comic relief and then you took her out. It's interesting how Giles is preaching to her that she must tactful and not just blurt things out, but Anya apparently has known for a while and still has also threaded carefully and has kept the information to herself. I do hope she comes in a little more in the story to lend some support to Tara when she's found.

Thanks for returning to this story. I look forward to the next installment.

ETA -- love your avatar too, especially the Frida pic. Have loved Frida since I read her life story when I was eleven.

Hello,

I recently caught up with this story, I think I had started to read it last year though. Anyway, I like it.
I always like the fics where one of the girls gets pregnant... But this one with Willow not having come to the realization of her feelings is really neat. :)

It must be very difficult for both of them.

And... where's Tara? Snif.

I'm hooked now :)

Thanks for your fic.

Oh and I love the notes.

Julia

So, uh. No nekkid Tara lusciousness. Dag. She went away and Willow is just... broken. I just, I want Willow to *realize*. Sometimes that girl can be so frikkin dense about the things that matter **Willow, you are in love with Tara, now get to the nekkid smoochies**. <-- directive by me.

begging for an update that im sharing a random moment....

Postby nothingtosay » Tue Feb 19, 2008 1:44 pm

listening to my bro’s mp3player while ridding the subway…I came across this song..

it truly fit the scene of Oz crashing in W&T’s scene…with a few word adjustments... I totally imagined Willow singing this:

*enter oz*
I got a call late last night from a number I didn't know
It was so strange I knew who it was from the moment he said hello
And I paused for a minute. I couldn't believe it.
I kept my cool so my girl just wouldn't see

He said, "I'm sorry but there's something you should know"

This is what he said to me,

"I didn't let you go, No I can't let you go" He said, "I'm having such a hard time" Then I heard, "I didn't let you go, I just can't let you go" And then he said, "I think I'm loosing my mind

"'Cause I still love you. This I must confess… I guess I still need you.
I feel I have to tell you this again. Yes I still want you
Oh these words I did not plan. So if I've interrupted anything. I promise I won't call you again"

*scene where Oz and Willow talk*
So I told him my heart felt, the same that it did before (as it did before)
Its never changed, My feelings never went away (no )
My heart never closed the door (no, no it never closed the door)
*willow thinks of Tara*
Then I stopped for a minute I think about my lady
And what we have going on (what we have going on )
She's about to have my baby. Oh, you waited much to long .

I gotta let you go. I'm hanging up the phone
This conversation can't go on no more. I gotta let you go, ‘cause if I don't let you go
I fear that I met let you know.

"'Cause I still love you.....blahblah"

Now I'm doing just fine with my girl.
Not about to let her go (can't let her go, let her go)
Just because you find me once again it doesn't mean you're coming back home (doesn't mean youre coming back home)
Now its been about 2 years or so (its been about 2 years)
Since we went our separate ways (went our separate ways)
You gotta face the fact we're over with and done …

"'Cause I still love you.....blahblah"

*fade*

:thud GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! update already, my minds correlating everything i hear to your wonderfully addicting story.....:pray

See Chapter One for disclaimers.

Fragments Of Creation: snippet one

---

One minute she was running, the next she was not. Something was following her. With her adrenaline spent and her strength waning she slowed, moving delicately and deliberately.

---

Her body felt leaden, each heavy footfall increasing the burden of movement. She was light-headed as she wobbled onward, just a few more steps to the shade. It looked like a safe place to lie down.

---

She collapsed before reaching sanctuary and the world was slipping away fast.

It was almost like sleeping; she was tired—but this was not sleep. Everything became obscure, she didn’t even feel her eyes shutting as she dropped to the ground; she just felt the blackness closing in on her.

---

Something gentle sang to her and she drew a shallow breath, not opening her eyes. She felt a warmth encompass her limp form.

---

She tried to open her eyes to see what was around her, but everything was cloudy. Something was cradling her so carefully when her head lolled to the side something soft steadied her. A burst of starry light flashed before her closed eyelids and suddenly she felt so light, lifted into the air.

---

Her breathing evened out and she felt ‘shiny’. There was a comfortable thrum inside her, the strain she felt earlier was gone. She felt at home and snuggled into the feeling.

---

“Come on sweetie, open your little eyes.” A voice took on a lyrical tone. “I know you can.”

She tried and everything was again… fuzzy. But slowly things were coming into focus.

---

“Here, have some water. I bet you’re thirsty.”

She felt something soft on her mouth. Then, something wet. The liquid seemed to know where to go, it coated her tongue, and cooled her throat. A few more drops and she was lapping for more.

“There you go. I guess you are a bit parched, huh?”

She didn’t realize how thirsty she was.

“Feeling better?”

Her sight was slowly coming into focus.

“Hey cutie.”

She tried to make a noise, but only the slightest ‘meeh-phh’ came out of her.

“It’s ok, shhh.”

She felt the touch on her body. A stroke over her, a pet that became a massage, and she purred.

“You like that huh?”

“Puuuurrrrrrrrrrr.” She rolled her head.

“I’ll take that as a ‘yes’.”

Finally a pair of blue eyes opened fully to meet another.

Some replies, again thank you all for reading and there will be a 'real' update soon.

jay/wt4evr-Will's definitely in the deep of the emotional pool at the moment, she 's wondering where Tara is (just like you & other readers). Stay tuned!

--------

Yours-Such enthusiasim & this is one of your top 5's? That's a real compliment considering there are so many great fics here. Sincerely, thank you.

--------

Zampsa1975-Tara? She's somewhere. Though I think you've jumped the gun calling her Willow's "girlfriend", unless you mean a "friend" that happens to be a "girl".

--------

WolfDragonGod-At least this next update won't take as long as the last!

--------

Thianne-Thanks, hopefully you enjoy the next installment.

--------

PolarBear-Yeah, it's Willow's time for some hurting.

Both girls have done some terrible and very "human" things - some on purpose, some by accident, some with hardly any forethought, and some things with too much thinking. Tara leaving is the later, she left thinking she was doing something that needed to be done, because Willow wouldn't make that decision. In Tara's mind Oz returning was everything Willow wanted.

You are very right, they can't "skip it" this time.

--------

katjetson- Thank you for reading this & for those who've 'bumped' it so others would read it!

Yes, I did kind of take the "extra flamey candle" sequence and twist it. It was such a critical part of the series, symbolic there and here too.

You're quick! Got the "empty" vs. "full" idea.

I'm glad you like the little notes, I'm not a writer in the strictest sense (or even the loosest sense), & my mind shoots off with the strangest ideas. BUT, it all ties together.

------

MiniShrink-Welcome, don't think I've seen you pop up before on the CM thread. I laughed while writing the Anya/Giles parts. And, you're right, of course she knows a lot about pregnancies.

Ah yes, I did pull a Yoko-version in this chapter, I'm sorry you thought it too rushed. I felt prolonging it and continuing their petty arguing would be drawing it out too long.

------

Missocki-A sad panda? Well, there is a happy ending, but the journey's wrought with a bunch of road bumps and hurdles. As for the update? It's coming soon.

------

shane-Good ol' Shane!! Yeah, I'm still plugging away at this and thank you so much for still reading. Nice to recognize a few names....

------

nothingtosay-who says quite a lot & sings too! Hello. People make hasty decisions all the time. Willow has promised she'd be there, sure, but Oz showing up changed everything in Tara's mind. Anya's resourceful, I'll say that!

------

Mestiza-Hola! Aww thanks for the very kind words, you're swelligant! Nice to know I'm being excused for not updating more frequently. I'm still around, lurking in the shadows while devising my little plans - oh, I mean working on my story.

------

Hello Shy One! I agree with you, Anya is a lot more clever than anyone gave her credit for & I do love her. Nope, you won't have to wait as long, I have an update waiting in the wings.

------

rezeaka! Annie, you wacky one, thank you so much for still reading this. "Happy sigh land" will happen, but, you know, it's gonna take a bit. Patience & hope are great things, I'm a little unpredictable though.

------

Chachumera-This is definitely an emotional story and I know the structure of it isn't quite "normal", but I appreciate that you are still reading and enjoying it. Your very kind words help prod me onward. Thank you.

------

Sandman78-Addiction to soon be updated.

------

Safuega-I did not get a chance to see The Orphanage on the big screeen (thanks for the info on it), but I still want to see it. Too busy, much too busy...

Back to CM...
If you were trying to illustrate the confusion and fragmentation that Willow felt then I must say you succeeded.

That's exactly what I was going for, very well put. And Buffy & Xander's reactions were just that, true to who they are and the experiences they've both had.

...threaded delicately...

I was very careful on how I wrote this chapter, balancing Willow's feelings from her abandonment to her relief, then back to the real crux of the whole story - the pregnancy and becoming a parent.

Anya, I've always loved Anya's character and think she would keep some things to herself not really being part of the Scoobies and all. She stradles that odd bridge, once demon, now human - neither really one or the other.

Long live Frida!

-----

JujuDeRoussie-Hello to you and welcome. Glad you are here and reading this. This is tough for both the girls, it's true...and where is Tara?! You'll find out!

-----

Boadecia-Aww, thanks for the "fantastic". I must admit I really enjoyed writing the Anya/Giles parts!

-----

db-Howdy! Right back at you! Yeas, I am back, though dragging my heels. I blame my cold, or flu, or whatever that's causing me to cough, sneeze, and be feverish. Congestion is not my friend.

I'll pass your directive to Willow, but she's more confused now than ever and as smart as she is academically, she's dense about other stuff. The preganancy has delayed what happened originally in the series. So, she'll get there, but there are many things to overcome.

------

love_2003-CM is back, it is, and at least the next installment won't take as long as the last. Thank you so much for keeping me moving along, your support helps!

-----

tararules2007-Hello & thanks for reading! More to come soon.

-----

Yours, nothingtosay, & Mestiza - Songs, cherries, and deal-io...a full update is coming...just a matter of days...or less.

dibs?

For real?

Tues! Lookit you with bringing in Miss Kitty Fantastico and everything! How sweet and cute! Plus the whole part where it makes me think that Tara hasn't gone too too far and isn't in so so much transition that she can't take on a kitty :-D. It is Tara? Right? Oh. Thought. Tara really should be careful 'cos of toxoplasmosis and stuff. Maybe Miss Kitty is really an exclusively indoor kitty but just got out that once. Yeah. *nods*. Omigosh, Willow is going to freak anyway!

I love this story! Thanks for the teasery update!

Ok, so I joined this forum for the sole purpose of commenting on your story. (Been a lurker for a few months)
The story is sooo sweet and the characterization for everyone is awesome especially Willow circa season 4.
I’ve only seen up to season 5 on my friend’s DVDs ‘cause I was pretty young when Buffy was on originally so it’s nice to see a story that’s set earlier.

Any way great story it’s got complete 'awww' factor and it’s well written. I can’t wait for another update.
And this is my first post so, um…tell me if I’m doing it wrong?
