Resolutions

Postby CrazyTaraWitch » Thu Jan 01, 2009 1:59 pm

Being the first day of the new year, I thoought people could post any resolutions they have for 2009. (If there's already a thread like this I appologize.)

Mine are:
1. Find something everyday, no matter how small and no matter what's going wrong in my life, to smile about.
2. Show her, every chance I get, how much she means to me and how much better every part of me is for having her in my life.
"To days to come."
"All my love to long ago.

I hope, we'll have more happy ever after
I hope, we can all live more fearlessly...

I'm resolving to halve my excuses. I'm tired of making excuses for everything.
I'll be everything that I want to be,
I am confidence in insecurity.
I am a voice yet waiting to be heard,
I'll shoot the shot, bang, that you hear 'round the world.

being a better vegan (I sometimes still eat stuff that contains milkpowder, cheese or egg when I feel hungry on the road. Badbadbad me)

Sports (starting poledancing again or maybe something new)

Eating healtier (enough vegetables, not too much fried foods and sugar-y-goodness, that kinda stuff)

Being there for my little sister because she needs me. (and trying to keep my mother from damaging her more than she allready did)

and finding myself a decent place to live. Away with the mice, cold, humidity, broken windowsils and lack of hot water or heating.

A thread like this existed from last year and the year before but that's ok.

1. To lose weight. Specifically to get my BMI < 25.
2. To meditate 5 times a week - 260 times this year.
3. To not list off the chores I've done in a day (it's a long story but it will make my life easier).

I'm not big on resolutions, but I can get behind "try to do better at __X__"
This year my goals are to be more social (and with my wife done with school, that will be something we both want to do);
make more of an effort to get regular excersize. My job is pretty physical already, but I could be better about doing things when I'm not at work;
Email or call friends who are far away...that kinda goes along with socializing--stay in touch better.

There are many resolutions that I have for this year but here are a few.

1) not necessarily lose weight, but gain more muscle
2) learn to say 'no' more often
3) become more sociable
4) start driving
5) eat more fruits and veggies

I resolve

1. To be more patient.

2. To be less sarcastic

3. To eat healthier

And if that doesn't work, I'll lose my temper, reduce someone to tears with my caustic comments and get a burger :)

got an additional one; telling the truth
Not that I'm a notorious liar, but I usually make up an excuse when I do something wrong, no more of that' just gonnabe honest about why I screw up
and also telling the truth when others do something that hurts me, no feeling sorry for them and saying everything is ok when they've just hurt me big time!

anyone that can't take the truth (as long as it's delivered in a respectfull way) has a problem of themselves, not mine, not gonna make it mine either.

I might as well use this thread for 2011 ;-)

1. Delurk on ktb. Be active again on posting and hopefully update my fics.

2. Enter the world of Facebook ( :shock Shocking? I know. But I value my privacy very much, that's why I don't have an account, yet.)

3. Drink only ONE glass latte at work

4. Try to learn how to ski

5. Spend less on shopping

6. Try to learn a fourth language, and that is Spanish!

7. Use my new cellphone, and set aside my Nokia 3220 (I know, I'm so medieval!)

8. Eat fish 4 times a week instead of 2 or 3 times, specially Salmon

9. Put one fourth of my salary in a savings account

10. Visit at least one place (country) during my Holidays from work (If the budget permits)

I'm a couple days late on coming up with resolutions, but oh well.

-Be there for my family
-Be there for myself
-Not get lost in laziness
-Spend at least 15 minutes every week writing, no matter what it is
"To days to come."

My resolution is to read more and be more aware of what I'm eating. Actually take time to savor each taste and flavor.

Another New Year's Thread I just dug up. And a Happy New Year's double-post to me!

I actually went that whole damn year without so much as a drop of Mountain Dew. No idea how I did it, but I did. In the few years since, though, I have more than made up for the lost time.

No resolutions this year, I'll just take it as it comes.

My New Year's resolution is to FINALLY talk to this girl I've been wantin' to get to know better. I've been wanting to do that for two years now. This is the year. I'll also try not to drink soda, but I haven't had any in 14 years.

-William. (It's William today. It's better not to question my motives.)

Edit: I made so many typos, so I tried to fix most of 'em. Sorry.
"Miss Edith speaks out of turn. She's a bad example and will have no cakes today"

I have a fish named Drusilla. He doesn't know, he thinks his name is Drew. Shhhh...

Spike: Are we feeling better, then?
Drusilla: I'm naming all the stars.
Spike: You can't see the stars, love. That's the ceiling. Also it's day.
Drusilla: I can see them. But I've named them all the same name, and there's terrible confusion.

Resolutions - always a tough one for me. Making them easy - keeping them hard!

-Exercise more, eat healthier, lose some weight.
-Be a good listener but also seek out people who value my voice and want to hear it
-Be more discliplined in my work and my writing
-Help people see their own skills and strength

I think resolutions can be a bit of a have on unless people are truly motivated to actually follow them through and half of the things don't work out anyway but I do believe that they are good for giving the mind a kick start and motivation wise. Mine are to publish something else focus more on my writing and not to let people push me around
